NCT ID: NCT03061760 Not yet recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Effects of Urinary Bladder Hypertrophy on Urge Urine Incontinence After Radical Prostatectomy

Start date: March 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This study is designed to evaluate men before radical prostatectomy for the incidence of Overactive Bladder (OAB), as well as urge urine incontinence (UUI) development after the surgery. Patients will be evaluated for signs of OAB and for signs of Bladder Outlet Obstruction (BOO). Afterwards they will be divided into four observational groups. Follow up period is designed to be 12 months.

NCT ID: NCT03057353 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis

Risk Factors for Ligamentum Flavum Hypertrophy in Lumbar Spinal Stenosis Patients

Start date: May 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

To measure ligamentum flavum thickness in patients with different nationalities, sexes, heights, ages, and weights from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China with CT, explore the correlation between various factors and ligamentum flavum thickness, provide reference for pedicle screw placement and lumbar decompression surgery, develop individualized surgical programs, and can effectively reduce the incidence of unnecessary postoperative complications induced by misplacement.

NCT ID: NCT03043209 Completed - Clinical trials for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

Genomic Sequencing in Patients With HCM Undergoing Septal Myectomy

Start date: August 30, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Investigators aim to use comparative exome and/or genome sequencing to discover causative molecular lesions for phenotypes hypothesized to be caused by somatic mutations. For this study, investigators have targeted hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

NCT ID: NCT03040947 Recruiting - Hypertension Clinical Trials

MRI Sequence and Imaging Protocol Development

BikeMRI
Start date: March 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to develop imaging protocols when using cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) to assess cardiac functions, morphology and tissue characterization. The National Heart Research Institute Singapore (NHRIS) houses two dedicated CMR scanners to support the numerous investigator initiated projects in patients with various cardiac pathologists. By optimizing novel CMR sequences used in these studies, scanning time can be shortened for patients with underlying cardiac diseases.

NCT ID: NCT03034239 Completed - Clinical trials for Protein Supplementation

The Effect of Insect Protein on Performance and Hypertrophy

Start date: March 20, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Purpose: to study the effect of insect protein on performance and hypertrophy during 8 weeks of resistance training. Hypothesis: Insect protein supplementation enhances the effect of resistance training on muscle mass and muscle strength. Primary outcome: Muscle hypertrophy and muscle strength Design: Two groups of healthy young men (age: 18-30 years) with resistance training experience, but no structural resistance training performed for the last 12 months. Randomized controlled intervention study +/- insect protein (placebo group ingest isocaloric carbohydrate). Both groups perform 8 weeks of progressive resistance training (4/week) aiming to induce muscle hypertrophy.

NCT ID: NCT02994615 Completed - Clinical trials for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

Evaluating Microvascular Dysfunction in Symptomatic Patients With HypertroPhic CaRdiomyopathy

PRIMARy
Start date: January 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy are being compared to a control group. IMR will be assessed with a pressure wire. Clinical f/u at 3 months and 6 months and a 48 hour holter monitor.

NCT ID: NCT02977832 Completed - Clinical trials for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Clinical Results of Odyliresin (Iresine Celosia) in Symptomatic Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Odyliresin
Start date: January 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Odyliresin (Iresine Celosia) is a cytochrome-flavoprotein with a powerful anti-oxydant action on cells, has a therapeutic effect on BPH-related LUTS, reducing symptoms, prostate volume, improving the patient's quality of life and eventually limiting the number of patients who require surgery or endoscopy after medical treatment.

NCT ID: NCT02973633 Recruiting - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Diffusion MRI in Heart Failure

Start date: June 30, 2017
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The development of symptomatic heart failure is frequently preceded by a pre-clinical period of structural remodeling in the heart. The remodeling process driving this transition, however, remains poorly understood. The investigators hypothesize that imaging the diffusion of water in the heart with MRI will allow its microstructure to be resolved. The investigators further hypothesize that the characterization of microstructural changes in the heart will help elucidate the pathogenesis of heart failure and the transition from a compensated to a decompensated state. Patients with recent myocardial infarcts and left ventricular hypertrophy, who are at risk for the development of heart failure, will be enrolled. The participants will undergo serial diffusion tensor MRI (DTI) imaging of the heart to characterize changes in myocardial microstructure over time.

NCT ID: NCT02973607 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Effects of a Reduction in Renal Function on Cardiovascular Structure and Function

CRIB-DONOR II
Start date: May 23, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is present in 1 in 7 of the population and confers a high risk of cardiovascular disease. The pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease in CKD is poorly understood because CKD is always accompanied by confounding factors including the underlying disease process (e.g. diabetes mellitus, systemic vasculitis) and the consequences of CKD including hypertension, anaemia and inflammation. Nephrectomy in kidney donors causes a 30% reduction in renal function providing an ideal study population to measure prospectively the effects of reduced kidney function on the cardiovascular system. The CRIB-Donor study (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier:NCT01028703) demonstrated adverse effects on cardiovascular structure and function at 12 months compared to controls including an increase in left ventricular mass. This proposal will measure the changes in cardiovascular structure and function, cardiovascular age and biochemical changes at 5 years providing information on the long term effects of reduced renal function.

NCT ID: NCT02965183 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Otolaryngological Diseases

The Correlation Between Adenoid Hypertrophy and Body Temperature in Children Before and After Adenoidectomy

Start date: December 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional
