Filter by:The goal of this feasibility study is to evaluate the ability of Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) for providing regional and quantitative information about the extent and nature of bronchial obstruction in patients with cystic fibrosis. It is not being conducted to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any kind of disease. In electrical impedance tomography low amplitude, low frequency current is applied on electrodes, and the resulting voltage is measured and used to computed the electrical properties of the interior of the chest as they change in time. The computed properties are used to form an image, which can then be used for monitoring and diagnosis.
This is a Phase 3, open-label, multicenter study evaluating the efficacy and safety of ABT-450/r/ ABT-267 and ABT-333 coadministered with RBV for 12 weeks in HCV genotype 1b, treatment naïve and Interferon (IFN) (alpha, beta or pegIFN) plus RBV treatment-experienced Asian adults with compensated cirrhosis.
Study to evaluate the efficacy of VX-661 in combination with ivacaftor (IVA, VX-770) through Week 12 in participants with cystic fibrosis (CF) who are heterozygous for the F508del mutation on the CF transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene and with a second CFTR mutation that is not likely to respond to VX-661 and/or IVA therapy (F508del/not responsive [NR]).
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of lumacaftor in combination with ivacaftor in subjects aged 6 Through 11 years with cystic fibrosis (CF), homozygous for the F508del CF transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) mutation
Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is a type of kidney replacement therapy for patients with chronic kidney disease where the peritoneal membrane is used to filter the blood. Exposure to PD fluid results in scarring of the peritoneal membrane and increased blood vessel growth. This condition can progress even when peritoneal dialysis is stopped. Therefore, the investigators hypothesize glucose in the dialysis fluid may result in DNA modifications called epigenetic changes. These changes modify how genes are expressed and how cells function. The investigators want to study these epigenetic changes and the effect on peritoneal membrane scarring, blood vessel growth and peritoneal membrane function.
Participation in the study will last for 3months, with a 1 month screening phase.
This is a prospective longitudinal study that will evaluate if changes (pre and post therapy) in indocyanine green (ICG) retention test and liver stiff ness (LS) and spleen stiffness (SS) as measured by acoustic radiofrequency impulse (ARFI) correlate with changes in portal pressure as determined by the hepatic vein pressure gradient (HVPG) in patients with compensated hepatitis C virus (HCV) cirrhosis undergoing antiviral therapy.
To evaluate the clinical mechanisms of action in lung and extrapulmonary systems of VX-661 (tezacaftor; TEZ) in combination with ivacaftor (IVA) (TEZ/IVA) in participants with cystic fibrosis (CF) who are homozygous for the F508del mutation on the CF transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene.
The purpose of this research study is to characterize the pharmacokinetics of intravenous ceftazidime/avibactam in patients with Cystic Fibrosis.
This is a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, 6-month study followed by a 6 month open-label extension phase to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of MN-001 in moderate to severe IPF patients. MN-001 750 mg or matching placebo will be orally administered twice daily over a 26 week period in subjects with a confirmed diagnosis of IPF per the ATS )American Thoracic Society) 2011 Guidelines. Approximately 15 subjects are planned to be enrolled. This study will consist of two treatment arms, MN-001 and matching placebo. Randomization will occur in a 2:1 ratio (MN-001: placebo). Eligible subjects will consist of males and females ranging in age from 21 to 80 years old, inclusive. The study will consist of a Screening Phase (up to 3 months prior to Day1) followed by a 26 week double-blind Treatment Phase, a 26 week Open-Label Extension (OLE) phase and a Follow-up Visit (within 4 weeks after the last dose).
