Cohort Event Monitoring for Dengvaxia®, CYD-TDV Dengue Vaccine

The aim of this study is to evaluate the safety profile of Dengvaxia® when used in the real-world immunization setting Primary Objective: - To measure the incidence of selected adverse events (AEs) and serious AEs (SAEs) occurring over a period of six (6) months after each Dengvaxia® dose administration; - To quantify the association between Dengvaxia® and each of the selected AEs and SAEs for which a risk window after vaccination can be defined, using estimates of relative risk - To monitor the occurrence and frequency of hospitalized dengue disease as well as any other SAEs leading to hospitalization or death, including new and previously unrecognized SAEs, following Dengvaxia® administration on a longer term (up to 5 years after the first Dengvaxia® dose administration. Secondary objectives: - To identify risk factors for hospitalized dengue disease (severe or not) among subjects vaccinated with Dengvaxia®; - To describe the frequency of hospitalized dengue disease and/or other SAEs or selected AEs according to the number of Dengvaxia® doses and/or interval between doses.

Obinutuzumab and Lenalidomide in Treating Patients With Previously Untreated Stage II-IV Grade 1-3a Follicular Lymphoma

This phase II trial studies how well obinutuzumab and lenalidomide work in treating patients with previously untreated stage II-IV grade 1-3a follicular lymphoma. Immunotherapy with obinutuzumab, may induce changes in body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as lenalidomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving obinutuzumab and lenalidomide may work better in treating patients with previously untreated follicular lymphoma.

Reduction of Intrapartum Fever With Intravenous Acetaminophen

The investigators plan to administer acetaminophen (Tylenol) for the treatment of fever in laboring patients by either an oral or intravenous (IV) route. The investigators want to see if the maternal fever will decrease faster with the IV or the oral dose. The investigators also want to look at other outcomes such as the cesarean section rate, the rate of neonatal intensive care unit admissions in both groups.

The Effect of Electro-Hyperthermia in Preoperative Radiotherapy for Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer

Preoperative radiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer increases the possibility of complete resection and anal sphincter preservation. However, a treatment period of from 5 to 6 weeks is an obstacle of proper surgical intervention. Also, radiotherapy itself is confronting challenges for maximizing the therapeutic effect and minimizing the side effects. Electro-hyperthermia is appropriate treatment method to solve these kinds of problems. In this clinical trial, therapeutic effect of the high-frequency electro-hyperthermia is to be verified during preoperative radiotherapy for locally advanced rectal cancer. The ultimate goal is to establish a safe and effective treatment protocol.

Prevention of Febrile Neutropenia by Synbiotics in Pediatric Cancer Patients

Febrile neutropenia (FN) is a major life-threatening treatment complication in cancer patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy. Endogenous flora is considered to be one of the main sources of infections during neutropenia. Competitive inhibition of gut mucosal colonization by pathogenic microorganisms using synbiotics could represent one of the potential options for its prevention. Synbiotics represent combination of two components: probiotics and prebiotics. Probiotics are live microorganisms, which in form of drugs or food supplements administered at a sufficient dose help to maintain health beneficial microbial balance in the digestive tract of a human or other host. Prebiotics are food ingredients nondigestible for our digestive enzymes, but can be fermented by bacteria in our bowel and this way selectively stimulate growth or activity of specific saccharolytic bacterial strains. These changes in composition of our microflora may bring benefits on host well-being and health. Based on the results of human and animal studies, probiotics probably can not only decrease the level of gut colonisation with pathogenic bacteria, but may also lead to reduction in the duration of neutropenia, accelerate the restitution of the intestinal mucosa and boost immunity. Despite a significant number of studies on probiotics still only little evidence of their safety especially in immunocompromised patients is available. To help find new options for increasing quality of healthcare for children cancer patients and also to evaluate safety of this new approach investigators designed double-blinded placebo controled multicenter study aimed to decrease the number of febrile episodes using prevention with synbiotic.

The purpose of this study is to see if the investigators can improve the treatment of this type of cancer. They want to find out what effects, good and/or bad, giving heated chemotherapy into the belly, known as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), has on the patient and this type of cancer. The goal of HIPEC is to expose any cancer left in the abdomen after surgery to high doses of chemotherapy. The chemotherapy is heated in the hope that this will make it easier for it to get into and kill the cancer cells. The drug used for HIPEC will be carboplatin, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drug for use in ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer.

Chronic Q-fever in Patients With an Abdominal Aortic Disease (QAAD-study)

Q-fever is a zoonosis caused by Coxiella burnetii, an intracellular bacterium. Since the epidemic outbreak of acute Q-fever in Holland nearly 4030 people have been registered with the acute form of the disease. Knowing that only 40% of all infected people develop symptoms, the number of infected people (and potential candidates for chronic Q-fever) are much higher. Chronic Q-fever generally manifest itself after a couple of months or years after the primary infection (in 1-5% of all cases). The clinical presentation can be a life-threatening and frequently underdiagnosed disease, as endocarditis, infected aneurysm and vascular prosthesis or chronic Q-fever related to pregnancy and immunecompromised patients. That's why a screening program is started in the endemic area and trace patients with chronic Q-fever. So eventually, a greater group of patients with chronic vascular Q-fever can be described. In addition, there is still no therapeutic guideline for management of chronic Q-fever in patient with a vascular chronic Q-fever. Patients with an aneurysm or vascular graft will be screened for chronic Q-fever. Patients with chronic Q-fever will be included in a follow-up program, in which additional research and treatment will start. The initial treatment of patients with chronic Q-fever is doxycycline and hydroxychloroquine for at least 18 months. In addition, patients will be monitored in 3-monthly controls, blood samples and imaging will be done. Parameters as complaints, titers, circulating DNA, grow of aneurysm, complications etc. will be investigated. Ultimately, the current therapeutic guideline for management of C. burnetii will be evaluated if it can also be applied for patients with vascular chronic Q-fever.
