The Safety and Efficacy of Redsenol-1 Plus on Cancer-related Fatigue in Adults

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Redsenol-1 Plus on cancer-related fatigue (CRF) in adults. The change in the severity of CRF from baseline at week 12 will be assessed by the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue (FACIT-F) fatigue subscale, and compared between Redsenol-1 Plus and placebo groups. Additionally, the safety and tolerability of Redsenol-1 Plus, as compared to placebo, will be measured by the occurrence of and/or changes in treatment-emergent adverse events (AEs).

The Effect of Intensive Physical Exercise on Fatigue and Quality of Life in Patients With Quiescent Inflammatory Bowel Disease

In patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), characterized by relapsing intestinal inflammation, chronic fatigue is a burdensome and highly prevalent symptom. The aetiology is thought to be multifactorial, including complex interactions of psychological and physical factors such as immunological profiles and gut microbiota. Unfortunately, specific treatment strategies are currently lacking. Since fatigued patients have an impaired physical fitness and are less physically active than patients without fatigue, it is hypothesised that physical exercise might be an effective complementary treatment for patients with IBD suffering from fatigue. During a previous pilot cohort study, significant improvements in fatigue complaints and quality of life were observed following a personalised and intensive exercise program. In this study, a multicenter randomized controlled trial will be performed to further investigate this assumed beneficial effect of intensive physical exercise.

Photobiomodulation, Cryotherapy Combined With Compression, and Massage for Recovery

Skeletal muscle fatigue is an inevitable phenomenon in the training and competition routine for many crossfit athletes, which can impair their physical performance and predispose them to musculoskeletal injuries. Thus, strategies and/or therapies that minimize fatigue and accelerate muscle recovery are extremely relevant for everyone involved with sport. The aim of the present study is to investigate and compare the effects of photobiomodulation, cryotherapy combined with compression, and massage as isolated therapies for muscle recovery after a protocol of induced muscle damage and fatigue in Crossfit athletes. This is a randomized, double-blind, crossover, sham-controlled clinical trial. Will be recruited 60 male participants, adults, aged between 18 and 40 years, Crossfit practitioners. They will be randomly allocated into 3 groups of 20 participants per therapy, each crossed between effective and sham every 15 days. The primary outcome will be muscle performance in functional test (free squat) and knee extensor torque in maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC). Secondary outcomes will be evaluated by the levels of muscle damage via creatine phosphokinase (CPK) and inflammatory process via blood C-reactive protein (CRP); and delayed onset muscle pain via numerical verbal scale (0-10). All outcomes will be evaluated at baseline, 24h and 48h after induction of muscle damage and fatigue. Data will be analyzed and compared intra and inter groups with a significance level of 5%.

A secondary purpose is to investigate if using a motor imagery balance intervention will limit fatigue typically experienced with physical movement in this population.

The goal of this randomized counterbalanced repeated measures study is to test beet-root juice supplementation and red light therapy augment forearm muscle endurance in apparently healthy older adults over 65 years of age. The main questions seek to answer the following question: Does beet-root juice supplementation improve forearm muscle endurance compared to a placebo supplement? Does red light therapy improve forearm muscle endurance compared to a sham light exposure? Does beet-root juice supplementation in combination with red light therapy improve forearm muscle endurance compared to a placebo-sham light control?

Monitoring of Chronic Conditions in Breast Cancer

REBECCA-1 is an observational study. Clinical research is undergoing a revolutionary change. The use of electronic patient records (EHR), digital registers, smartphones etc will create "real-world data" (RWD) that provides great opportunities for advancing clinical research, but so far this opportunity has been little exploited. The REBECCA -1 study will observe and monitor fatigue in breast cancer survivors. Investigators will use self reported questionnaires (PROM-data), blood tests and objective regulations like the REBECCCA -1 smart watch that will register amount of steps every day, leaving the house, visiting friends, cafes etc. There will be three observational arms; 1.high fatigue, 2. low fatigue and 3. a healthy control arm. After the patients have finished their treatment, they will receive the REBECCA smart watch, a REBECCA app on the smart phone and a REBECCA plus device on their computer, The next offend are also invited to report their evaluation through the same apps. The observational time will be 1 year and comparison between the subjective PROM data , the objective REBECCA watch and the biological samples will be obtained.

rTMS for Post-stroke Fatigue

This experimental trial is investigating the use of magnetic stimulation of the brain as a possible treatment for people with post-stroke fatigue. Fatigue is a common condition after a stroke and can negatively impact an individual's ability to perform desired social and physical activities. Magnetic stimulation of the brain has been shown to improve signs and symptoms of related psychological (e.g., depression) conditions. Participants in this trial will receive a type of magnetic stimulation called repetitive magnetic stimulation, or rTMS. The investigators will measure feelings of fatigue, and other clinical characteristics related to mood and cognition, before and after participants receive rTMS.
