The virus can cause this continued infection, or the virus causes immune system function disorder and post-infectious autoimmune disease. The clinical symptoms can be smell loss, taste loss to liver function disorder, kidney function failure, different. No matter how complicated the systems showed in the clinic, all of the symptoms are due to the specific cells being damaged. Our clinical study is focused on recovering the damaged structure and function of the cells that could restore the organ function back to normal or close to normal
Renal tubules play an important role in fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base homeostasis. Defect of these functions can give rise to a host of disorders. These disorders can lead to life threatening disturbances in electrolytes and acid-base balance. In Egypt, there is little data about these disorders. Many of these cases are diagnosed late, therefore Early suspicion for diagnosis can improve the overall clinical outcome of these children.
Emotion recognition and regulation are necessary skills for social interaction. Disrupted development of these processes severely interferes with socio-emotional development. These difficulties are commonly reported in patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Conduct Disorder (CD), with the subsequent social/interpersonal difficulties. The available evidence suggest that impaired emotion regulation processes might underlie the aggressive behaviours frequently observed in both disorders. However, no study has yet investigated the presence of disorder-specific characteristics on emotion processing between these two disorders. Different impaired emotion recognition difficulties may underlie the reported emotion dysregulation. A practical implication of this is that given that both disorders have shown difficulties during emotion recognition processes, a short, computer-based intervention to improve emotion recognition might benefit both cases, even though their aetiologies might differ.
Long COVID Syndrome (Long COVID), Post Acute COVID-19 Syndrome (PACS) or Post COVID-19 Syndrome (PCS) is defined as 'signs and symptoms that develop during or following an infection consistent with COVID-19, continue for more than 12 weeks and are not explained by an alternative diagnosis'. 1 in 10 infected individuals may suffer persistent symptoms, and we are facing an emerging problem that will severely affect individuals, health care systems and society for years to come. We explore hyperbaric oxygen administered in a randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial as a potential treatment for patients suffering from Long COVID. The overall hypothesis to be evaluated is that hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) alleviates symptoms associated with Long COVID.
The aim of the study was to assess and compare the relationship between jaw function, neck disability, sleep quality, fatigue, and headache in patients with myofascial Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) with Sleep Bruxism (SB) and without (non-SB).
The objective of the study is to evaluate the impact of Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) delivered by local counselors, on the mental health and socio-economic empowerment of survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) who suffer Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), in North and South Kivu in Eastern DRC. The counselors will be trained and supervised by clinical experts from the NGO Vivo International. The therapy is expected to reduce the symptoms of PTSD, depression, and anxiety in SGBV survivors. The project is expected to directly impact and improve the beneficiaries' mental health outcomes of interest, and to indirectly impact and enhance their economic empowerment in the medium term and social functioning both in the short and medium term. This proposed impact evaluation will answer the following research questions: 1) What is the impact of NET on survivors' psychosocial wellbeing, economic empowerment and social functioning and participation? 2) Does the impact of NET differ depending on individual and household characteristics as well as context-specific factors?
This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial to assess the efficacy and safety of PRAX-114 in participants with moderate to severe major depressive disorder (MDD). Participants will be randomized to receive 28 days of either 40 mg PRAX-114 or placebo in a 1:1 ratio.
The retrospective study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the Auriculotemporal Nerve Block (ATNB) in achieving unrestricted mouth opening amount and in reducing the pain scores in those patients diagnosed with disc displacement with (DDWR) and without reduction (DDWOR) according to the Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders, who could not benefit from noninvasive methods but did not want further invasion.
Liver Transplantation for Unresectable GIST Liver Metastases
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of commercially available genital vibrator use on sexual health, female pelvic floor disorders, and overall quality of life among a diverse population of women.
