Study type: Interventional

Determine safety of plasma infusion or exchange in APOE 44 patients.

NCT ID: NCT03873935 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Vitamin D in Periodontal and Cardiovascular Disease Progression

Start date: January 2, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Vitamin D has been considered to possess anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity which may be a link for the known interaction of periodontitis (CP) and coronary heart disease (CHD). This study investigated the association between serum vitamin D levels and periodontitis in patients with CP and with CHD. Furthermore, the objective was to determine if periodontitis and CHD had an impact on serum vitamin D levels.

NCT ID: NCT03862807 Completed - Clinical trials for Transthyretin Amyloidosis

Patisiran in Patients With Hereditary Transthyretin-mediated Amyloidosis (hATTR Amyloidosis) Disease Progression Post-Liver Transplant

Start date: March 27, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of patisiran in participants with hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis (hATTR amyloidosis) with disease progression after liver transplant.

NCT ID: NCT03833960 Completed - Clinical trials for Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy

SLNB After Neoadjuvant Treatment in Node Positive Patients

Start date: May 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

From May 2016 till May 2018 all breast cancer patients with operable disease submitted to surgery after neoadjuvant treatment would be divided in four groups considering initially clinical axillary stage, axillary procedure that was done, axillary response to preoperative systemic treatment and pathological axillary stage. In first postoperative year all patients will be monitored for appearance of locoregional and distant recurrence.

NCT ID: NCT03799263 Active, not recruiting - COPD Clinical Trials

A Six Minute Walking Test Based Index as an Outcome Predictor in COPD Subjects. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)

COPD
Start date: February 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The six minute walking test (6MWT) is a recognized clinical test to evaluate exercise capacity in different diseases and different conditions. The modalities of performance are described in International Guidelines. The usually reported measure is the distance in meters walked in 6 minutes. Despite the report of a single variable during the test is considered as a limit, changes in monitored variables are seldom analyzed together with the distance walked. In the past there have been some attempts of multifactorial evaluation of 6MWT, however up to date, there is no system considering together the changes of different variables. The investigators wonder whether a multidimensional index based on variables monitored during the 6MWT would better predict 24 month exacerbations and mortality in COPD patients.

NCT ID: NCT03788369 Recruiting - Coronary Stenosis Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Effectiveness and Safety of Hybrid Coronary Revascularization

HCR registry
Start date: April 5, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of Hybrid Coronary Revascularization in real-world practice.

NCT ID: NCT03755128 Completed - Clinical trials for Erythroblastosis, Fetal

A Study to Characterize the Clinical Course of Pregnant Women and Children at High Risk for Early Onset Severe Hemolytic Disease of the Fetus and Newborn

Start date: January 16, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The primary purpose of the study is to characterize the current standard of care, clinical course, and outcomes of pregnant women and their offspring at high risk for early onset severe hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (EOS-HDFN).

NCT ID: NCT03753334 Recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Effects of EPA in Men With Biochemical Recurrence or Progression of Prostate Cancer.

RCT-EPAII-BCR
Start date: July 10, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Prostate cancer biochemical recurrence (BCR) occurs in 20-50% of patients following radical prostatectomy or radiotherapy. Due to significant risk of side effects and uncertainty about the benefits, physicians and patients are seeking alternatives to delay androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for non-metastatic BCR. Long-chain omega-3 fatty acids (LCn3), mainly found in seafood and fatty fish, have beneficial effects against prostate cancer in pre-clinical experimental studies and randomized clinical trials of intermediate prostate cancer outcomes. The current observational evidence also supports testing LCn3 in prostate cancer patients. LCn3 have beneficial effects on inflammation, cardiovascular, psychological, and other outcomes, contrasting sharply with ADT-associated side effects. Investigators propose to conduct a pilot randomized placebo-controlled trial to determine the effects over one year of an innovative LCn3 supplement (5g of omega-3-rich fish oil daily, including 4g of monoglycerides eicosapentaenoic acid (MAG-EPA)) in 40 men experiencing BCR or prostate cancer progression after a curative treatment. This project proposes a simple intervention by dietary supplementation that could eventually help to prevent or delay ADT-related side effects and thus could contribute to diminish the heavy individual and societal burden of prostate cancer. The clinical data generated by this pilot trial will serve as basis for a larger-scale phase II clinical trial.
