Comparing the Efficacy of Metronidazole and Minocycline Gels for the Treatment of Diabetic Periodontitis Patients

This clinical study randomized 380 diabetic chronic periodontitis patients into 4 groups: scaling and root planning alone (group I), scaling and root planning plus metronidazole gel (group II), scaling and root planning plus minocycline gel (group III), and scaling and root planning plus both metronidazole and minocycline gels (group IV). Periodontal measurements including probing depth, gingival color and texture, bleeding on probing, clinical attachment level, and recession were recorded at baseline, 7 days, and 15 days.

The aim of this research is to compare the immediate effects of one hour Soleus Pushup Exercise and treadmill walk in Type 2 Diabetic population on blood glucose level. Randomized controlled trials done at Railway General Hospital and diabetic centers of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.. The sample size was 66. The subjects were divided in two groups, 33 subjects in Soleus Pushup Exercise group and 33 subjects in treadmill walk group. Study duration was of 6 months. Sampling technique applied was non probability convenience sampling technique. Only 40-60 years diabetic people with clinically diagnosed type 2 Diabetes for upto 10 years were included. The Short and Long-term Effects of Low Advanced Glycation End Product* Diet

The aim of this study was to examine the hypothesis that a diet low in advanced glycation end products (AGE) would provide short and long term improvement in metabolic and inflammatory parameters and serum AGE, Srage, carboxymethyllysine (CML) and methylglyoxal (MG) values in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Specifically, in order to observe the effect of AGE content on the results, diabetic patients who are followed up and who know the principles of low glycaemic index and glycaemic load nutrition suitable for diabetic patients, who do not have additional diseases and who do not smoke were selected. In recent years, it has been determined that AGE accumulation in the tissue has an effect on the pathophysiology of many diseases such as Alzheimer's disease as well as chronic complications of diabetes. However, the contribution of dietary AGE intake to this pool is controversial. There are studies with conflicting results in the literature on whether a low AGE diet is effective on metabolic and biochemical well-being. In addition, studies investigating the effects of reducing AGE content in the diet of people with no chronic disease are limited. In this study, the metabolic results of dietary modification in the short term of 2 weeks and in the long term of 3 months are determined. In addition, the results are analysed separately in type 2 diabetic and non-diabetic groups. Thus, the data showing the short and long term metabolic effects of dietary AGE levels for diabetic and non-diabetic patients will contribute to the literature.

Mobile Application for Integrative Diabetes Care

The investigators have developed a mobile application named 'DangDang Care' (which conveys the meaning of managing diabetes confidently and consistently through psychological care) designed to provide psychological support and enhance diabetes self-management for people with type 2 diabetes experiencing depressive symptoms. The application incorporates a behavioral activation program. Subsequently, the investigators conducted a 12-week randomized controlled trial, enrolling individuals with type 2 diabetes and mild-to-moderate depression, with the assistance of public health centers. The trial aimed to assess the effectiveness and feasibility of the application in promoting consistent diabetes management through added psychological care.

In type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and obese patients the adipose tissue could over-express cytokines, sirtuin-1 (SIRT1), and microRNAs (miRs) implied in the regulation of left ventricle (LV) diastolic function (LV-DF). Ghrelin could modulate these pathways. Thus, in the current study authors will investigate ghrelin expression in T2DM obese patients after abdominal fat excision, and particularly in those with normalization of LV-DF at 1 year of follow-up.
