DBcare is a herbal food supplement that has been used over the years in India as a "traditional"anti-diabetic formula.DBcare was not tested controlled trials in humans, yet.We intend to test the ability of DBCare to improve blood sugar level control in patients with uncontrolled diabetes.
Increased levels of NT-proBNP are known to increase the risk of cardiac events in diabetic patients. The other way around, patients with normal values have an excellent prognosis on short-term. We intend in our study to proof the hypothesis, whether it is possible to decrease NT-proBNP levels by intensified cardiac prevention care We aim those patients, who already have elevated levels, although no history of a cardiac disease. This decrease in NT-proBNP should be translated consequently in a decrease in cardiac events
The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of glimepiride on dapagliflozin and the effect of dapagliflozin on glimepiride in healthy volunteers. In addition, the safety and tolerability of dapagliflozin with be assessed alone and while taking glimepiride
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the postprandial time course of nitrotyrosine after injection of insulin glulisine compared with regular human insulin. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the postprandial time course of the following efficacy parameters after injection of insulin glulisine compared with regular insulin on - Blood Glucose - Insulin - Intact proinsulin - Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) - Metal matrix proteasis (MMP-9) - Oxidative status (per ox) - Interleukin 18 (IL-18) - Free fatty acids (FFA) - Oxidised LDL (ox-LDL) - Microvascular blood circulation measured with laser Doppler at 37 °C (LDF37) - Microvascular blood circulation measured with laser Doppler at 44 °C (LDF44)
The purpose of the study is to develop and evaluate a dietary change program specifically for low-income, African-American women who are at risk for developing diabetes due to obesity. The program uses an innovative approach that emphasizes risk awareness, self-efficacy, and skills training through active learning exercises related to healthy eating. The program is delivered by peer educators in the community and addresses economic and cultural factors that are very important to program participants.
This study will compare insulin lispro protamine suspension (ILPS) and insulin glargine in combination with the patient's oral diabetes medications and exenatide, for their ability to control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes.
The purpose of this research study is to look at concentrations of GSK189075 in blood when different long and short acting forms of the drug are taken by mouth. The results will help to decide whether a long-acting form of GSK189075 can be made. The effects of the drug on the body and safety will also be studied.
The primary objective of the current study is to investigate the safety and tolerability of BI 44847 in male and female patients with type 2 diabetes following oral administration of repeated doses of 100 mg b.i.d, 400 mg b.i.d. and 800 mg b.i.d. over 28 days. A secondary objective is the exploration of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of BI 44847 after multiple dosing, including assessment of steady state.
