NCT ID: NCT00613951 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Comparison of Two NN5401 Formulations Versus Biphasic Insulin Aspart 30, All in Combination With Metformin in Subjects With Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: January 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Europe. The aim of this trial is to compare two NN5401 (Soluble Insulin Analogue Combination [SIAC], insulin degludec/insulin aspart) formulations with each other and with biphasic insulin aspart 30, all in combination with metformin in insulin naive subjects with type 2 diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT00612625 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus Type 2

Near Normalisation of BG Improves the Potentiating Effect of GLP-1

Start date: February 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The ability of glucagon-like peptide 1 to enhance beta-cell responsiveness to I.v. glucose is impaired in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus compared with healthy individuals. We investigated whether 4 weeks of near-normalisation og blood glucose improves the potentiation of glucose-stimulated insulin secretion by GLP-1

NCT ID: NCT00612599 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Comparison of Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics of Biphasic Insulin Aspart 50 to Biphasic Insulin Aspart 70 in Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: September 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Europe. The aim of this trial is to compare the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of biphasic insulin aspart 50 three times a day to biphasic insulin aspart 70 three times a day in non-obese and obese with type 2 diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT00612040 Completed - Diabetes Clinical Trials

Comparison of Two NN1250 Formulations Versus Insulin Glargine, All in Combination With Insulin Aspart in Subjects With Type 1 Diabetes

Start date: January 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Europe, Oceania and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this trial is to compare two NN1250 (insulin degludec) formulations with each other and with insulin glargine, all in combination with insulin aspart in subjects with type 1 diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT00612014 Completed - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy of IV Infusion of Investigational Agent (TZP-101) in Patients With Severe Diabetic Gastroparesis

Start date: October 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether TZP-101 is effective in the treatment of symptomatic gastroparesis due to diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT00611988 Completed - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Self-Managed Walking Improves Function

Start date: August 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

We are conducting a clinical research trial to determine the role of self-managed walking therapy to improve walking ability in patients with diabetes mellitus and peripheral arterial disease (PAD). PAD, commonly referred to as poor circulation in the legs, is a very common disease in patients with diabetes mellitus. For patients with PAD, there is a significant risk for poor walking ability and limb loss. One major treatment for PAD is walking therapy but the traditional methods for the delivery of this treatment have required frequent visits to a university or hospital-based site. We will address the role of self-managed walking program, to be conducted at or near the home, to improve limb function.

NCT ID: NCT00611884 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Comparison of Two NN1250 Formulations Versus Insulin Glargine, All in Combination With Metformin in Subjects With Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: January 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Africa, Asia and North America. The aim of this trial is to compare two insulin degludec (NN1250, SIBA) formulations with each other and with insulin glargine, all in combination with metformin in insulin naive subjects with type 2 diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT00610038 Completed - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety Study of Sulfonylureas in Neonatal Diabetes Mellitus

GLIDKIR6-2
Start date: July 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The aim of our trial is to try to switch patients with permanent neonatal diabetes mellitus due to a Kir6.2 or SUR1 activating mutation from subcutaneous insulin to oral glibenclamide therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00609986 Completed - Diabetes Clinical Trials

IV Insulin Protocol in Diabetes and Renal Transplantation

Start date: July 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide tight blood sugar control using insulin given through the veins at the time of kidney transplantation and up to 3 days after surgery. After release from the hospital, the patient will control blood sugar with subcutaneous insulin injections or pills. With this approach, outcomes should improve for diabetic transplant patients such as longer life of the new kidney, fewer hospital readmissions, decreased associated infections, and other advantages. Hypothesis: It is hypothesized that intensive glycemic control will lead to better clinical and biochemical outcomes and improved long-term graft survival.

NCT ID: NCT00609895 Completed - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

The Incidence of Hypoglycemia in Insulin Glargine-Treated Subjects With Diabetes Mellitus Upon Switching Between Bedtime and Morning Dosing

Start date: January 2004
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To compare the percentage of subjects with a glucose measurement < than or = to 56 mg/dL at any point of the 8-point glucose profiles during 3 consecutive days before vs. 3 consecutive days after switching insulin glargine dosing time from bedtime to morning and vs. 3 consecutive days after switching back to bedtime dosing of insulin glargine.
