NCT ID: NCT00625859 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

A Study to Assess the Safety of Repeated Doses of GSK189075 and WELLBUTRIN SR in Healthy Male Subjects

Start date: January 16, 2008
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research study is to look at concentrations of GSK189075, WELLBUTRIN SR and active metabolic products in blood samples when doses of both drugs are taken by mouth. Doses are either taken alone or together. The results will help to determine if doses of GSK189075 and WELLBUTRIN SR can be safely taken together.

NCT ID: NCT00624767 Completed - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate the Effect of Nasal Insulin on Postprandial Glycemic Control in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Start date: March 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Insulin is a hormone which is produced by the human pancreas for the lowering of blood sugar. In patients who don't produce enough insulin, additional insulin must be given several times per day by injections. Nastech Pharmaceutical Company Inc. has developed a new insulin nasal spray, as a possible way to improve patient compliance with intensive insulin treatment plans. This study is being conducted to see how Nastech's insulin nasal spray affects post-meal glucose levels compared with rapid acting insulin (i.e., insulin aspart) in Type 2 diabetics who are already taking oral antidiabetic medications and/or insulin therapy. Insulin aspart is marketed as NovoLog® in the United States. The safety of insulin nasal spray and how well it is tolerated as compared to NovoLog will also be evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT00624364 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Efficacy and Safety of Biphasic Insulin Aspart 30 With Metformin in Type 2 Diabetes

The Cost-efficacy of Psychological Intervention for Strengthening Parental Authority Among Parents of Diabetic Adolescents With Poor Glycemic Control

Start date: February 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A three arms, open, randomized interventional study including 100 participants in order to evaluate the cost-efficacy of psychological intervention for strengthening parental authority among parents of diabetic adolescents with poor glycemic control. All participants will be randomized into three groups:1.The first group will get a psychological treatment in order to strengthen the parent's authority. 2.The second group will get an education of a nurse and a dietician. 3.The third group will serve as a control group and will not go through an intervention. The following data will be analyzed during the study: 1.Changes in HbA1c. 2.Changes in parents authority. 3.Changes in the diabetes treatment by the adolescents. 4.Consumption of health services. 5.The costs of all psychological treatments.
