The Daytime Circadian Rhythm in Exhaled Volatile Organic Compounds in People Living Without and Diabetes

Exhaled volatile organic compounds will be measured during daytime with the goal to identifying circadian variability. The study incudes three subgroups: people without diabetes, people with type 1 diabetes, and people with type 2 diabetes. A total of 60 people will be recruited for the study.

Examining the Feasibility of Prolonged Ketone Concentrate Supplement Drink Consumption in Adults With Type 2 Diabetes

Brief Summary: Ketones are a source of energy and signaling molecule that are produced by the body when not consuming any food or consistently eating a low-carbohydrate "keto" diet. Blood ketones can be used as a source of energy by the body, but they may also act as signals that impact how different cells in the body function. Recently, ketone supplements have been developed that can be consumed as a drink. These supplements can raise blood ketones without having to fast or eat a "keto" diet. Previous studies have shown that these supplement drinks can lower blood sugar without having to make any other dietary changes. Drinking these ketone supplements may therefore be an effective strategy to improve blood sugar control and influence how cells function. To find out if it is feasible for people with type 2 diabetes to drink these ketones supplements regularly over 90 days, we will compare between two groups in this study: one group that will be asked to drink ketone supplements, and one group that will be asked to drink a placebo supplement.

Effect of the Superhydrophilic Surface of Lance CLEAR Implants on the Marginal Bone Loss and Survival in Diabetic and Non Diabetic Patients

The aim of this clinical, prospective study involving implants with a superhydrophilic surface is to compare the changes of the peri-implant tissues and the survival rate between diabetics and non-diabetics patients, after 12 months of loading. hypothesis: It is not expected to find any short-term differences in failures and marginal bone loss between the diabetic and non-diabetic patients. On the longer term higher marginal bone loss may affect the diabetic group 40 patients who are planned to undergo implant installation will be enrolled in the study. The patients will be divided into 2 groups: - Test group - 20 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with 10>HbA1C>7.5% values - Control group - 20 non-diabetic patients.

Children's Hospital Academic Medical Organization (CHAMO) MyChart Study

Evolving technology and clinical innovation have led to dramatic changes in the management of type 1 diabetes (T1D). These changes have led to a need to collect a growing number of details from families during their visits. As a result, much of the physician-patient visit is spent transferring information instead of focusing on diabetes care, contributing to increased time pressures in clinic and unmet needs for patients. In response to this reality, the investigators have developed a tool that allows families to input their diabetes-related information into their physicians' electronic health record (EHR) documentation tool before their clinic visit, using a questionnaire administered via CHEO's secure patient portal (MyChart®). The investigators will evaluate the impact of an integrated electronic patient questionnaire, on quality of care (patient-reported), diabetes control and clinic efficiency. The investigators hope that our study will determine whether having families input clinical data prior to a visit is an effective strategy to improve the quality of diabetes care. The investigators believe that the findings will be of interest to all those studying the value of incorporating patient-entered data both within diabetes care and beyond.

Dietary modification is effective in the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the access to dieticians in primary care is limited. While mHealth tools have been shown to improve diet and clinical management of patients with T2DM, there are currently no mobile health (mHealth) tools that are effective in improving diet and clinical management of T2DM in Sweden. The aim of this project is to study the effect of the FoodSwitch app, an mHealth intervention for patients with T2DM.

Comparison of Fasting Blood Glucose Measurements From Fingertip and Intravenous on Patient Satisfaction in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus

The study was designed as a randomized controlled experimental study in order to compare the fasting blood glucose values measured by puncturing the fingertips and using the intravenous route of patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, and to determine the effect on patient satisfaction. The blood glucose measurement via the intravenous catheter has an effect on increasing the comfort of the patient compared to the fingertip measurement. It is thought that information can be provided to increase patient satisfaction.
