There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
38 certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) students will learn 5 different ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia blocks both with and without a novel device, the EDU which gives the student help finding the right needle path.
Evaluation of the impact of a whole food, plant-based (WFPB) program using shared medical appointments (SMAs) on reducing cardiovascular risk factors and weight loss in overweight/obese adults with at least one chronic disease
The purpose of this study is to determine the type of gastric content and quantify the volume of liquid gastric contents using ultrasonography in patients on GLP-1 agonists that have presented for elective surgery and to determine if risk factors are associated with a higher gastric volume in patients on GLP-1 receptor agonists.
This study is a double-blinded randomized-controlled trial in which patients will be randomized to 81 mg of aspirin or placebo to be continued for 6 weeks' postpartum. The purpose of this study is to compare NT-proBNP levels at the 4-6 week postpartum visit between groups. There is currently no data on the maternal health effects associated with continuation of low-dose aspirin in the postpartum period. This study aims to fill a gap in the knowledge regarding the utility of low-dose aspirin following delivery.
Neck pain is a common ailment in the United States. Although there are several different treatments and approaches to help individuals with neck pain, the number affected by this condition has been steadily increasing. OMT has been shown to be helpful in the treatment of neck pain. In fact, the use of OMT has been shown to increase mobility of the myofascial tissues, visceral motion and decrease pain in patients with neck pain. Bio Electro-Magnetic Regulation (BEMER) Therapy is a therapeutic modality that deploys a biorhythmically defined stimulus through a Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF), which leads to an increase in blood flow. The positive effects of BEMER on the circulation has been shown to result in significant increases in arteriovenous oxygen difference, number of open capillaries, arteriolar and venular flow volume, and flow rate of red blood cells in the microvasculature. Therefore, BEMER can potentially be used in the treatment of neck pain by improving microcirculation in muscular tissue. Therefore, it is possible that the combination of OMT and BEMER therapy may provide additive effects in reducing neck pain. The purpose of this study is to investigate the individual and combined effects of OMT and BEMER therapy on neck pain in adults.
The goal of this clinical trial is to test a mobile application amongst caregiver's supporting patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD). The main question it aims to answer is: Will caregivers supporting patients diagnosed with ADRD utilize a mobile application to routinely report symptoms of the patients they care for?
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the number one cause of death globally and high blood pressure (i.e., hypertension) is the leading modifiable risk factor for CVD and all-cause mortality. Advancing age is the primary risk factor for hypertension and CVD. Moreover, compared to younger adults, older adults exhibit reduced nocturnal dipping of blood pressure resulting in elevated nighttime blood pressure values, which are a better predictor of cardiovascular outcomes than daytime blood pressure. Intriguingly, recently published rodent data suggests that ketone supplementation protects against hypertension, blood vessel dysfunction, and kidney injury. Whether ketone supplementation provides vascular health benefits in humans remains to be determined. Therefore, the investigations seek to conduct an acute ketone supplementation study to determine whether ketone supplementation may restore a more healthy nighttime blood pressure phenotype in middle-aged and older adults. The investigations will also determine whether ketone supplementation influences nocturnal heart rate variability, a non-invasive of autonomic function that may be influenced by ketone supplementation in a manner that influences blood pressure.
Management of rectal foreign bodies presents unique challenges in the emergency department. Rectal foreign bodies may consist of various compositional materials and ergonomics which include but are not limited to vegetables, light bulbs, everyday household items, and body packing of illicit drugs. Patients presenting to the emergency department with rectal foreign bodies range widely in age from prepubertal patients to older adults. Insertion of rectal foreign bodies have been classified as voluntary or involuntary, as well as sexual or non-sexual. The definition of rectal foreign bodies can be blurry, as many objects inserted via the rectum are large enough to enter the sigmoid colon. Although detailed epidemiologic data are scant, recent studies reported a progressive rise in complications related to rectal foreign bodies with incidence disproportionately higher in men and an average age in the mid 40s.
This study will assess the effects of strong CYP1A2 (Cytochrome P450 1A2) inhibitor (fluvoxamine) on savolitinib exposure in healthy male subjects, performed at a single clinical unit.
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the response of glucagon to insulin-induced low blood sugar after administration of the study drug LY3532226 in participants with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). The study will also evaluate if LY3532226 helped participants to recover from insulin-induced low blood sugar condition compared to placebo. The study will last approximately 16 weeks excluding screening period.
