There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Randomized controlled trial of acute use of electronic cigarette or tobacco cigarette on parameters of ventricular repolarization and inflammation/oxidative stress.
The objective of this proposal is to pilot test two types of pre-visit planning, where clinical staff reviews charts and talks to patients before their doctors appointments, to reduce the burden of diabetes care on the patient without increasing the visit workload during busy primary care clinics.
The current standard of care for diagnosis of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome associated Coronavirus -2 (SARS-CoV-2 ) infection involves sample collection to be prepared and measured via real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). This process is often time consuming depending on the level of automation within the laboratory processing the samples. In many cases, sample turn-around times can take hours to several days. A rapid assay that does not require the sophisticated laboratory equipment and techniques could provide a significant advantage to the way practitioners screen and ultimately treat patients. Moreover, the collection of samples from the nasal nares should prove useful and less invasive. The study aims to validate the use of nasal swabs and also to validate the antigen test using nasal swabs.
Antibiotics are commonly utilized to reduce the bacterial population of the eye prior to surgery with the assumption that this reduces the risk of endophthalmitis, although it is not clear if this actually occurs. This study will investigate the use of Hypochlorous Acid, a commercially available over the counter (OTC) medication to see if this will reduce the bacterial population prior the cataract surgery.
The aim of the study is to demonstrate the feasibility and validity of a saliva based home surveillance monitoring test for SARS-CoV-2 infection. Participants will be asked to carry out as many tests as are included in the bag they are provided, on a daily basis until they are used up.
This is an observational study based on secondary data extracted from multiple register-based data sources in the US and Europe (Sweden, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany). The study will include patients initiating treatment with ticagrelor 60 mg after a myocardial infarction in real-world clinical practice, and describe their patient characteristics and duration of treatment. If the a priori threshold of 5,000 person-years on treatment with ticagrelor 60 mg is met, outcome events (bleeding and cardiovascular events) will also be analysed and described.
Teen participants (ages 13-17) will be randomly assigned to either an experimental (the Happify Teens digital platform), or a waitlist control group. The study includes an 8-week intervention period and a 1-month follow up period.
In the present study, patients will be sent a message shortly after completing a medical procedure that informs or reminds them that they can reach out to Geisinger, and how to do it, if they have any medical issues or concerns. Researchers will assess if such messages make patients more likely to contact Geisinger with post-procedure medical concerns and decrease emergency department utilization.
This study aims to provide clinical validation of EyeQuant, a fully automated retinal image analysis system for computation of vascular biomarkers indicative of cognitive disorders, using retinal fundus photographs collected from patients with mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease, and vascular dementia.
The purpose of this study is to assess the way the body absorbs, distributes, breaks down and eliminates radioactive BMS-986278 as well as the safety and tolerability of BMS-986278 in healthy male participants.
