There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This two-arm, parallel randomized trial study will assess the efficacy of a 6-month (26 weeks) community-based program in reducing kidney injury (as Urine Albumin to Creatinine ratio, uACR), cardiovascular risk (as Hemoglobin A1C and blood pressure), mental health (as PHQ-8) and diet quality (as fruits and vegetables intake and Healthy Eating Index) in community-dwelling, low-income adults diagnosed with early chronic kidney disease (stages 2 or 3 and not on kidney replacement therapies) compared to educational materials and usual care alone.
The purpose of this study is to compare patient priorities care (PPC) and usual care (UC) patients to identify differences in post-encounter medication changes, treatment burden (TBQ), and shared decision making in Older Patient Assessment of Chronic Illness Care (OPACIC), to understand PPC participant's sense-making and communication approaches related to deprescribing decisions in relation to the identified health priorities and to identify and categorize adverse drug withdrawal events (ADWEs)
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the ability of non-invasive brain stimulation during sleep to enhance people's deep sleep and its potential benefit on memory in healthy adults via home use sleep therapy device (SleepWISP). Participants will be asked to wear non-invasive and painless devices that record their brain activity during sleep. The clinical trial aims to answer the following main questions: 1. Whether the non-invasive transcranial electrical stimulation (TES) delivered by SleepWISP could provide short-term enhancement of deep sleep in a single night in the target population. 2. Whether TES delivered by SleepWISP could improve sleep quality.
The purpose of this clinical trial pilot is to obtain feasibility and pilot data necessary to inform the hearing intervention being designed for a larger R01 clinical trial that seeks to determine whether best practice hearing aid intervention impacts hearing-related outcomes in adults with hearing loss aged 55 to 75 years. Secondary purposes include: To determine what effects best practice hearing aid intervention has on physical, social, and quality of life outcomes in adults with hearing loss aged 55 to 75 years.
This pilot study investigates the effects of a newly developed 12-week weight management program called "GameDay Ready" (compared to a walking and general health education program) for decreasing body weight among Black men who live in the rural South. The researchers expect to see evidence of greater weight loss among participants randomized to receive the "GameDay Ready" program.
This clinical trial studies the effect of cancer directed therapy given at-home versus in the clinic for patients with cancer that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced). Currently most drug-related cancer care is conducted in infusion centers or specialty hospitals, where patients spend many hours a day isolated from family, friends, and familiar surroundings. This separation adds to the physical, emotional, social, and financial burden for patients and their families. The logistics and costs of navigating cancer treatments have become a principal contributor to patients' reduced quality of life. It is therefore important to reduce the burden of cancer in the lives of patients and their caregivers, and a vital aspect of this involves moving beyond traditional hospital and clinic-based care and evaluate innovative care delivery models with virtual capabilities. Providing cancer treatment at-home, versus in the clinic, may help reduce psychological and financial distress and increase treatment compliance, especially for marginalized patients and communities.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate whether the combination of Pembrolizumab and Axitinib given in the neoadjuvant setting can change the Inferior Vena Cava Tumor Thrombus burden. A decrease in the size of the tumor thrombus can potentially lead to decrease in surgical complications, improve patient related health outcomes, and improve long term outcomes such as progression free survival and overall survival.
Psoriasis (PsO) is a chronic disease characterized by marked inflammation of the skin that results in thick, red, scaly plaques. This study will assess how safe and effective risankizumab is in adult participants with moderate to severe genital psoriasis or moderate to severe scalp psoriasis. Adverse events and change in disease signs and symptoms will be monitored. Risankizumab (Skyrizi) is a drug being studied for the treatment of moderate to severe genital psoriasis or moderate to severe scalp psoriasis. Approximately 200 participants with moderate to severe genital psoriasis or moderate to severe scalp psoriasis will be enrolled across approximately 45 sites globally. The study will be broken up into 2 sub-studies by disease location, participants with moderate to severe genital psoriasis (Study G) and moderate to severe scalp psoriasis (Study S). In both sub-studies participants will receive subcutaneous (SC) injections of risankizumab during the 52 week treatment period, or SC injections of placebo risankizumab during the 16 week treatment period followed by SC injections of risankizumab during the 36 week treatment period, with an 8-week follow-up period after the 52 week treatment period. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.
Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) refers to the intentional destruction of one's own body tissue without suicidal intent and for purposes that are not socially sanctioned. While NSSI has been understudied among Veterans, the lifetime prevalence rate of NSSI in Veterans is approximately three times higher than the general population. Moreover, NSSI is associated with increased risk for violence, psychiatric distress, and marked impairment in psychosocial functioning. Even though NSSI is distinct from suicidal behaviors in several important ways, NSSI remains a strong predictor of a future suicide attempt. The primary goal of this project is to evaluate the treatment and acceptability of a brief intervention for NSSI that aims to reduce psychosocial impairment and NSSI behaviors in Veterans.
The purpose of this study is to compare operative time, patient reported outcomes, surgical complications, and surgical outcomes between the tunneling versus dissection technique during robotic assisted sacrocolpopexy (RA SCP).
