There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to assess the biological activity of ZD6126 in subjects with newly diagnosed metastatic renal cell carcinoma (stage IV).
This is a clinical research study of T900607-sodium to determine if it is effective and safe in treating gastric cancer and adenocarcinoma of the esophagus. Patients will be treated on a weekly basis with an intravenous injection of the study drug.
To evaluate the efficacy of Hemolink⢠in combination with Intraoperative Autologous Donation (IAD) versus control (IAD alone) in facilitating avoidance of allogeneic RBC transfusion during and following primary CABG surgery
The clinical use of IL-2 is currently limited by development of dose-dependent hypotension (systolic blood pressure (SBP) < 90 mm Hg). The overall outcome is constant across sites with 20-50% of the patients requiring ICU management because of unresponsive hypotension and hyporeactivity (loss of response to vasoconstrictors). Because of the dose-limiting side effects, the duration of IL-2 dosing is frequently curtailed. Thus, hemodynamic toxicities have limited the usefulness of IL-2 therapy. M40403 has prevented both the hypotension and hyporeactivity associated with IL-2 treatment in preclinical studies. This trial will study the safety and efficacy of M40403 in the prevention or reduction of hypotension in patients receiving IL-2 therapy.
Chest physiotherapy is recognized as a mainstay of cystic fibrosis therapy, and is particularly important during treatment of pulmonary exacerbations. For some patients, especially those with moderate to severe compromise of lung function, this therapy may impose a high demand in the work of breathing and energy expenditure. The goal of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of adding pressure support ventilation (PSV) during chest physiotherapy sessions in patients with cystic fibrosis with moderate to severe lung function compromise being treated for a pulmonary exacerbation.
Long term use of bronchodilators in CF is beneficial to the improvement of pulmonary function and symptoms. This study is investigating the long-term benefit of administration of the drug Salmeterol, a bronchodilator. Salmeterol will be compared to albuterol or placebo. The medication will be inhaled twice a day for 6 months.
The purpose of this study is to look at the effectiveness of giving a new anti-HIV drug (AG1549) plus Viracept (nelfinavir) plus Combivir (a tablet containing zidovudine plus lamivudine) to HIV-infected patients who are not taking anti-HIV drugs.
The purpose of this study is to see if two different doses of AG1549 plus other anti-HIV drugs are safe and effective in HIV-infected patients who are not taking anti-HIV drugs.
OBJECTIVES: I. Determine differences between persons with repetitive behavior disorders and matched controls on measures of motor control relevant to basal ganglia pathophysiology. II. Determine the efficacy of bromocriptine, a dopamine agonist, in the treatment of stereotyped behavior and related behavior disorders. III. Determine the efficacy of sertraline hydrochloride, a selective serotonin uptake inhibitor, in the treatment of repetitive behavior disorders. IV. Identify behavioral, environmental, and biological variables with differential drug treatment response.
RATIONALE: Biological therapies use different ways to stimulate the immune system and stop cancer cells from growing. Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill cancer cells in patients with primary or advanced glioma. PURPOSE: Clinical trial to study the effectiveness of biological therapy with interleukin-2 and lymphokine-activated killer cells in treating patients who have primary, recurrent, or refractory malignant glioma.
