Short Chain Fatty Acid Metabolism in COPD

The short chain fatty acid (SCFA) metabolism has not been studied in subjects suffering from COPD. The purpose of this study is to compare the SCFA metabolism in COPD patients to healthy matched controls. This protocol is an extension of recent studies about protein digestion and absorption abnormalities in COPD patients. The investigators hypothesize that SCFA production might be lower in COPD patients than in healthy subjects.

A Study of Niraparib Combined With Bevacizumab Maintenance Treatment in Participants With Advanced Ovarian Cancer Following Response on Front-Line Platinum-Based Chemotherapy

Niraparib is an oral inhibitor of poly adenosine diphosphate-ribose polymerase (PARP)-1 and PARP-2. This study will evaluate safety and efficacy of niraparib combined with bevacizumab as maintenance treatment in participants with advanced (stage IIIB-IV) ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer following front-line platinum-based chemotherapy with bevacizumab. Eligible participants who achieve complete response (CR), partial response (PR), or no evidence of disease (NED) following treatment with platinum-based chemotherapy in addition to bevacizumab will be enrolled in the study and will receive maintenance treatment with niraparib (for up to 3 years) combined with bevacizumab (for up to 10 months during the maintenance phase or up to a total of 15 months inclusive of the approximately 5 months of bevacizumab received with chemotherapy) or until disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, participant withdrawal, Investigator's decision, or death, whichever comes first. Participants who have not progressed after 3 years of niraparib maintenance treatment may continue with niraparib beyond 3 years if they are benefiting from treatment, upon consultation with Sponsor.

This is an observational study to evaluate safety and efficacy outcomes in renal transplant recipients in whom post-transplant care is managed using AlloSure®. AlloSure® is a non-invasive test to measure donor-derived cell-free DNA (dd-cfDNA). The AlloSure test is intended to assess the probability of allograft rejection in kidney transplant recipients with clinical suspicion of rejection and to inform clinical decision-making regarding the necessity of renal biopsy in such patients at least 2 weeks post-transplant in conjunction with standard clinical assessment. Amendment 1 (A1): Is an observational study to develop and validate the clinical use of KidneyCare®.

Dendritic Cell Therapy After Cryosurgery in Combination With Pembrolizumab in Treating Patients With Stage III-IV Melanoma That Cannot Be Remove by Surgery

This phase Ib/II trial studies how well dendritic cell therapy after cryosurgery in combination with pembrolizumab works in treating patients with stage III-IV melanoma that cannot be removed by surgery. Vaccines made from a person's white blood cells mixed with tumor proteins may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells. Cryosurgery, also known as cryoablation or cryotherapy, kills tumor cells by freezing them. Monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may block tumor growth in different ways by targeting certain cells. Giving dendritic cell therapy after cryosurgery in combination with pembrolizumab may work better in treating patients with melanoma.

This study evaluates whether or not the addition of simvastatin to the dual anti-HER2 therapy regimen helps make the tumor respond to the anti-HER2 therapy again. All participants will receive simvastatin in combination with their current anti-HER2 therapy regimen.

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that participants with HPV positive and hypoxia negative T1-2, N1-2c (AJCC, 7th ed.) oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma receiving a major de-escalated radiation therapy with 2 cycles of standard chemotherapy is not inferior to comparable subjects treated with the current standard chemoradiation. Accrual for Cohort A has been completed. Cohort B is active and continues to enroll participants where surgery is optional and proton is allowed.
