There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The principal objective of Tennessee Youth Prepared for Success is to pilot, implement, and test innovative adolescent pregnancy prevention strategies using a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to effectively educate youth on both abstinence and contraception with the goal of reducing youth pregnancies, births, and STIs. Tennessee Youth Prepared for Success will address Adulthood Preparation Subjects (APS) to promote youths' successful and healthy transition to adulthood; include a Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach to engage youth and provide positive influences and skill building opportunities; and implement activities/interventions within a trauma-informed approach to account for the mental health needs of those who have experienced maltreatment, abuse, or violence. The project's goals and principal and subordinate objectives align with the PREIS program's goals/objectives and purpose, including (1) targeting high-risk youth to prevent pregnancy and STIs, including HIV/AIDS; (2) rigorously evaluating interventions using an RCT; (3) manualizing/packaging curriculum; and (4) disseminating lessons learned, best practices, and relevant findings. Tennessee Youth Prepared for Success will serve 1,200 youth ages 14-19 in 9 primarily rural counties in East/Middle/West Tennessee, targeting high-risk/vulnerable youth, including rural youth, those residing in counties with high teen birth rates, and/or hard-to-reach youth (e.g., systems-involved).
Children with developmental language disorder (DLD; also referred to as specific language impairment) experience a significant deficit in language ability that is longstanding and harmful to the children's academic, social, and eventual economic wellbeing. Word learning is one of the principal weaknesses in these children. This project focuses on the word learning abilities of four- and five-year-old children with DLD. The goal of the project is to build on the investigators' previous work to determine whether, as has been found thus far, special benefits accrue when these children must frequently recall newly introduced words during the course of learning. The focus of the current study is verb-learning. The goal of the study is to increase children's absolute levels of learning while maintaining the advantage that repeated retrieval holds over comparison methods of learning.
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the safety and effect of bone marrow-derived stem cells for the treatment of low back pain.
This study will investigate the effects of promotion factors and mitigation strategies on legal and illegal tobacco purchases for different tobacco-user types.
This is a prospective, randomized, multi-center clinical trial for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients referred for creation of a new arteriovenous fistula (AVF) in order to assess the safety and effectiveness of SelfWrap, a bioabsorbable perivascular wrap.
Older people with HIV (OPWH) are disproportionately impacted by cardiovascular disease (CVD) attributable to behavioral risk factors, and chronic HIV immune dysregulation resulting inflammation. Systemic inflammation is exacerbated by psychological distress via activating the immune response and driving pro-inflammatory CVD risk behaviors. There is promising evidence to suggest that mindfulness could be an effective intervention to reduce psychological distress and support behaviorally- and inflammatory-mediated CVD risk reduction. This project aims to refine and synthesize mindfulness and behavior change content from evidence-based protocols (mindfulness-based stress reduction and diabetes prevention program) to develop and pilot test a new text message-enhanced intervention called "One Mind One Heart" (OM-OH) using feedback from semi-structured interviews with OPWH in psychological distress (N=20), and my multidisciplinary mentorship team (Aim 1). An open pilot (N=5) with exit interviews and pre-post self-report assessments, will inform the initial acceptability of OM-OH and further refine OM-OH as needed (Aim 2). Finally, a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT; N=50) will be conducted to a.) evaluate benchmarks of feasibility and acceptability of study methods and refined OM-OH compared to enhanced usual care, and b.) investigate potential for effects on psychological distress, inflammation, and behavioral CVD risk (Aim 3). Findings will provide the foundation for an R01 application to conduct an efficacy trial of OM-OH to reduce inflammatory-mediated CVD risk among OPWH.
This research is studying how to help increase uptake of and engagement in formal Diabetes Prevention Programs to improve healthy behaviors among adults with pre diabetes to reduce risk of getting diabetes. This project will compare the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) to participating in the DPP program plus two extra pieces (INSPIRA). The 2 additional pieces in the DPP plus program includes getting matched with someone else in the program to provide each other support along with a chance to earn healthy food vouchers. Eligible participants will be randomized to one of the two groups and be asked to participate for approximately 6 months.
The safety, tolerability, and antileukemic response of ziftomenib in combination with standard of care treatments for patients with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia will be examined with the following agents: FLAG-IDA, low-dose cytarabine, and gilteritinib.
The goal of this pragmatic, embedded clinical trial is to analyze the implementation of Patient Priorities Care in primary care and geriatrics clinics with patients living with dementia or mild cognitive impairment. This study aims are: - demonstrate the feasibility of using the electronic health record to identify a diverse cohort of eligible patient and patient-care partner dyads who will engage in a Patient Priorities Care conversation with a trained facilitator. - demonstrate feasibility of pragmatically assessing clinical outcomes using the electronic health record, including a) number of days at home, b) total medications, and c) new referrals to specialist physicians. - examine key feasibility measures across racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic subgroups. Participants will receive a packet of information about Patient Priorities Care from their primary care clinic, in advance of their next upcoming clinic appointment. Individuals who receive a packet will have the opportunity to engage in a conversation about what matters most to them and what their priorities are, with trained facilitators at the clinic.
In this research study, investigators are testing if a dose-increasing strategy for abemaciclib will have less side effects and be better tolerated than the standard dosage of abemaciclib for participants with early-stage high-risk hormone receptor positive breast cancer. The names of the study drugs involved in this study are: - Abemaciclib (CDK4 and CDK6 inhibitor) - Tamoxifen (Selective estrogen receptor modulator) - Anastrozole/Letrozole (Non-steroidal aromatase inhibitors) - Exemestane (steroidal aromatase inhibitor) - LHRH (Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist, or Luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonist)
