Patients with sickle cell anemia (SCA) are at an increased risk for damage to brain tissue due to their disease. The investigators are interested in how blood flow and cerebral inflammation are different in SCA patients and how that affects brain tissue- the investigators will use a relatively new set of dynamic MRI techniques to evaluate these parameters. The investigators will image participants with both SCA and matched controls with non-invasive MRI.

This study is a Phase 1b, open label, multi center, multi-dose trial designed to estimate the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and select the recommended dose for phase 2 (RP2D) investigations of PF- 05082566 in combination with KW-0761 (mogamulizumab) in patients with advanced solid tumors. Once the MTD of PF-05082566 administered in combination with KW-0761 is estimated (dose finding), one or more expansion cohorts of patients with selected advanced solid tumors (dose-expansion ) will be enrolled to further characterize the combination in term of safety profile, anti tumor activity, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and biomarkers modulation.

An early intervention for swallowing disorders (i.e., dysphagia) during endotracheal intubation may improve patient outcomes. The investigators propose treatment sessions targeting sensorimotor integration, strength, and range of motion during oral endotracheal intubation with mechanical ventilation to reduce or prevent dysphagia and aspiration (food or liquids entering the airway), establish a solid foundation in understanding reasons for swallowing impairment after extubation from mechanical ventilation and learn new methods to reduce or prevent these problems.

Del Nido Cardioplegia Randomized Trial

The use of a modified depolarizing cardioplegia solution in adult cardiac surgery would allow for prolonged re-dosing intervals while providing equivalent myocardial protection. The use of del Nido solution has been used extensively in congenital heart surgery for over 25 years. The primary objective is to determine whether expanding this technique to adult cardiac surgery will confer significant benefits in both surgical workflow and patient clinical outcome. The investigators hypotheses with regard to the del Nido solution will demonstrate (1) a non-inferior delivery to the current blood-based cardioplegia strategy in functional recovery or clinical outcome, and (2) superior delivery to the current blood-based cardioplegia strategy in cost analyses.
