Onalespib and Paclitaxel in Treating Patients With Advanced Triple Negative Breast Cancer

This phase Ib trial studies the side effects and best dose onalespib when given together with paclitaxel in treating patients with triple negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment (advanced). Onalespib works by blocking proper processing of proteins that are important for cancer growth. This results in inability of these proteins to work properly. Paclitaxel kills breast cancer cells by interfering with their ability to divide. Giving onalespib together with paclitaxel may be better than giving either one alone in treating patients with breast cancer.

Yoga to Alleviate Fatigue, Anxiety and Pain in Adolescents During Treatment for Lymphoma or Leukemia

Researchers at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital want to investigate the feasibility of a yoga intervention for adolescents receiving treatment for lymphoma or leukemia. Adolescents who participate in the program may experience improved physical and psychosocial measures. Improvements in these areas may increase participation in meaningful activity and improve quality of life. Adolescents diagnosed with cancer may experience more fatigue, anxiety and pain during treatment. Yoga is considered a complementary alternative medicine (CAM) that has been implemented into some pediatric oncology rehabilitation programs and has been shown to be beneficial in both inpatient and outpatient settings. It may decrease anxiety and increase quality of life and hamstring flexibility in teens. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: - To determine the feasibility of yoga intervention for adolescents during lymphoma and leukemia treatment. OTHER PRE-SPECIFIED OBJECTIVE: - To obtain pilot data regarding efficacy of yoga on pain, quality of life, fatigue and physical performance.

Sexual dysfunction is highly prevalent in schizophrenic patients, affecting up to 80% of men and women. Antipsychotic induced sexual side effects may be a barrier to treatment compliance. Antipsychotics such as Risperdal Consta and Invega Sustenna are known to have higher rates of causing prolactin elevations that may be implicated in sexual dysfunction. The basic premise of this study is to identify patients who believe they have experienced sexual dysfunction on Risperdal Consta or Invega Sustenna and switch to the alternative long acting injectable antipsychotic, Abilify Maintena which tends to lower prolactin levels. Measures of sexual sexual functioning using the self rated 5 item Arizona Sexual Experience Scale (ASEX) as the primary outcome measure will be made over a 3 month period to determine if such a switch is helpful.

Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Progressing After at Least One Prior Therapy For Metastatic Disease

Nivolumab releases the inhibition of the immune system against human cancers. Dramatic and sustained activity has been observed in advanced lung cancer. Ablation may stimulate the immune system by exposing new tumor antigens. Since tumors that express PD-L1 may be more likely to respond to nivolumab, if ablation increases PD-L1 expression (which has not been studied) this treatment may enhance the activity of nivolumab at both the treated site and in other, non-treated, tumors. Ablation is already an FDA approved treatment for cancer. Nivolumab was recently FDA approved for second line treatment of advanced squamous cell NSCLC. The goal of the study will be to determine if the combination of nivolumab and ablation has higher systemic activity than previously reported with nivolumab alone.
