The goal of this research is to test whether certain areas of focus in breath meditation are connected with certain mental health outcomes. The main question to be addressed is whether attention placed on the breath in the belly versus the nostrils during meditation results in differences in subjective experience, respiration and heart rate. Participants will: - complete surveys - have heart rate and respiration measured - practice focused breathing Participants can expect the study visit to last for one hour.

The purpose of this research study is to 1) see if a smoking cessation program is something that caregivers will use while their child is hospitalized, 2) see if caregivers think this program is something we should institute across the hospital, and 3) see if this program can help caregivers reduce their smoking. Participants will: - Complete a survey regarding smoking behavior and thoughts about quitting; - Undergo a 20-minute counseling session; and, - Use nicotine patches and mini-lozenges for 2 weeks

A Healthy Weight Intervention for Family Stress During the Early Phases of ALL Treatment: NOURISH-ALL

The purpose of this study is to conduct a single arm pilot of the NOURISH-ALL (Nourishing Our Understanding of Role modeling to Improve Support and Health in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) intervention focused on three components of participant engagement. This is a single arm intervention study that involves participation in a 6-session family intervention and three time points of multimethod data collection. The primary outcome is participant engagement, measured as recruitment, retention, and intended dose received. This study will be conducted over 5 years in three phases: - Aim 1a: Adapting the NOURISH-ALL Intervention for Families of Youth with ALL (Year 1) - Aim 1b: Iteratively Refining the NOURISH-ALL Intervention (Year 2) - Aim 2: Pilot Single-Arm Trial of NOURISH-ALL Focused on Participant Engagement (Years 3-5)
