Assessment of Low Level Laser Therapy for Late Postoperative Pain After Lumbar Fusion Surgery

Start date: December 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to assess whether or not low level laser therapy (LLLT) decreases pain in post-operative orthopedic patients following lumbar fusion surgery.

NCT ID: NCT00420875 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Plantar Fasciosis, Achilles Tendinosis

Clinical Evaluation of Placement of Radiofrequency-based Plasma Microdebridement in the Treatment Algorithm for Foot and Ankle Tendinosis and Plantar Fasciosis

TOPAZ Registry
Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To determine the magnitude of improvement for pain and function symptoms over a two year period after enrollment into the registry study in patients presenting with chronic heel pain and receiving standard of care treatment. Standard of care will include traditional conservative care measures, ESWT, radiofrequency-based plasma microdebridement, scalpel debridement and/or surgical release.

NCT ID: NCT00415155 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

A Study of LY2181308 in Patients With Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Start date: August 2008
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to estimate the time to progressive disease for patients with advanced hepatocellular cancer who receive LY2181308.

NCT ID: NCT00412295 Withdrawn - Myopia Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Alcon Ladarvision Wavefront-Guided PRK

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to: 1. determine the safety of wavefront guided PRK 2. evaluate the efficacy of wavefront guided PRK 3. evaluate the differences in visual quality after treatment of wavefront guided PRK

NCT ID: NCT00409266 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Total Knee Arthroplasty

CT Assessment of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Computer Assisted Navigation in Total Knee Arthroplasty

Start date: January 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The functional flexion axis of the knee can be established by computer-assisted intra-operative data, through range of motion techniques, not specific landmarks such as epicondyles.

NCT ID: NCT00408772 Withdrawn - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Oxaliplatin, Capecitabine, and Bevacizumab Followed By Surgery and/or Radiofrequency Ablation in Patients With Colorectal Cancer

Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as oxaliplatin and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Radiofrequency ablation uses a high-frequency, electric current to kill tumor cells. Giving chemotherapy and bevacizumab before surgery or radiofrequency ablation may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving oxaliplatin and capecitabine together with bevacizumab followed by surgery and/or radiofrequency ablation works in treating patients with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver and cannot be removed by surgery.

NCT ID: NCT00407940 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Intermittent Claudication

ATHERO: Advanced Technology Halting Early Re-Stenosis and Occlusion

Start date: December 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The rise of minimal access surgery has heralded the approval of a number of endovascular devices with similar indications. This is particularly true for the treatment of lower extremity ischemia. Comparable devices are selected for patient use somewhat arbitrarily, often dependent on industry influence. An unmet need is NON-industry sponsored prospective trials COMPARING devices head-to-head so that endovascular surgeons can even contemplate evidence-based device selection. At present, we seek to compare two new high-technology devices that are indicated to treat lower extremity arterial stenoses associated with claudication.

NCT ID: NCT00406120 Withdrawn - Uveal Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Validation of a Molecular Prognostic Test for Eye Melanoma

Start date: May 2007
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Up to half of patients with ocular melanoma (also called iris, choroidal or uveal melanoma) develop metastasis. We have found that certain molecular features of the eye tumor can be detected by gene expression profiling and accurately predict which patients will develop metastasis. This molecular test could eventually allow high risk patients to receive preventative therapy to delay or prevent the development of metastasis. The goal of this study is to prospectively validate the predictive accuracy of the gene expression-based molecular test and compare it to monosomy 3, the most common but potentially less accurate molecular marker for metastasis in ocular melanoma.

NCT ID: NCT00403156 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Choroidal Neovascularization

Imatinib Mesylate Combined With Intravitreal Ranibizumab in the Treatment of Choroidal Neovascularization Secondary to Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Start date: November 2006
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of study is to determine if Lucentis combined with imatinib mesylate will help treatment in patients with newly diagnosed choroidal neovascularization.

NCT ID: NCT00402935 Withdrawn - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Ovarian Damage in Young Premenopausal Women Undergoing Chemotherapy for Cancer

Start date: February 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

RATIONALE: Comparing results of diagnostic procedures, such as ultrasound, done before, during, and after chemotherapy may help doctors learn about the side effects of chemotherapy and help plan the best treatment. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying ovarian damage in young premenopausal women undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
