NCT ID: NCT06173765 Recruiting - Inflammation Clinical Trials

Understanding Dose Related Effects of Strawberry

STRW
Start date: August 31, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The proposed research is designed to extend previous research findings building on the knowledge of strawberries as fruits that support a healthy immune and vascular system. The proposed research leverages a recently funded proposal by the USDA to study in greater depth inflammation, glucoregulation and oxidative stress defense and their relation to improving endothelial function and insulin sensitivity. Before and after strawberry intake, blood samples will be collected for monocyte (immune cells and source of inflammatory cytokines) isolation and activation via changes in cellular NF-κB and Nrf-2 (key transcription factors of inflammation/oxidative stress defense) status along with products of their activation (ie., plasma cytokines). Because inflammation and oxidative stress impairs endothelial function and insulin sensitivity, acutely and chronically, investigators will also study changes in vascular and insulin sensitivity status, assessing changes in vascular adhesion molecules, endothelial responsiveness through flow mediated vasodilation (ie., FMD) and insulin sensitivity using the Liquid Meal Tolerance (LMTT) if intravenous glucose tolerance test (IVGTT) method cannot be used due to supply chain issues of sterile Dextrose. Glucoregulation will be assessed by placing a Continuous Glucose monitoring (CGM) machine (Dexcom-6) to participants for 10 days at the beginning and at the end of the study period of intervention. The study will be a randomized, double-blinded, 3-arm parallel, 4-week, dose-response study. Individuals with chronic low grade inflammation will be sought to test the anti-inflammation - vaso-relaxing - insulin sensitivity effects of strawberry.

NCT ID: NCT06173700 Completed - Caregivers Clinical Trials

Empowering Parental Caregivers

Start date: June 6, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial was to learn about the feasibility and pilot outcome measures in caregivers of children with spinal cord injury who completed a 7-week problem-solving training web-based group. The main question it aims to answer is: What is the feasibility of a seven-week, occupational therapist-facilitated, web-based support group with problem-solving training for parental caregivers of children with SCI? Participants participated 1 time a week for seven weeks in a web-based group group: - learning about the FOCUS problem-solving model - applying positive coping and problem-solving strategies to current issues.

NCT ID: NCT06173661 Recruiting - Migraine Clinical Trials

Fremanezumab Treatment of Migraine in Women With Menstrual Migraine Ages 18-45

Start date: March 1, 2024
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about how a migraine prevention medicine works for people who have migraines/headaches with their menstrual period. The study includes people ages 18 to 45 who have been diagnosed with migraine and who have a migraine with their menstrual period or those who have migraines with their menstrual period and at other times of the month as well. The main question the study aims to answer are: • Does fremanazemab, an injectable calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) pathway targeting therapy, decrease migraines associated with menstruation? Participants will - have an evaluation and examination by a headache specialist physician - will receive the study medicine or inactive substitute every three months for two treatments - fill out diaries about their migraines - have tests on saliva to measure hormone levels Researchers will compare the people who get the medicine to those who get the inactive substitute to see if there are differences in response.

NCT ID: NCT06173570 Recruiting - Dyslipidemia Clinical Trials

A Study to Assess the Efficacy, Safety and Tolerability of Different Doses of AZD0780 in Patients With Dyslipidemia

PURSUIT
Start date: January 19, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this study is to measure the effect of different daily doses of AZD0780 on Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL-C) levels compared with placebo in participants with dyslipidemia. The effect of AZD0780 versus placebo on other lipid parameters and inflammatory markers is also investigated. The concentration of AZD0780 in blood at specific timepoints is measured, and the safety and tolerability of AZD0780 will be evaluated. There is a follow-up after end of treatment, but expanded access is not available. The primary hypothesis is that at least one of the investigated doses of AZD0780 is superior to placebo in lowering LDL-C level, in percent change from baseline up to week 12.

NCT ID: NCT06173531 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Hyperphagia in Prader-Willi Syndrome

Study of Carbetocin Nasal Spray for the Treatment of Hyperphagia in Prader-Willi Syndrome

Start date: November 27, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

12-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study of carbetocin nasal spray for the treatment of hyperphagia in Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS)

NCT ID: NCT06173518 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Relapsed or Refractory B Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
