This is a study assessing the feasibility of using the insulin-only configuration of the iLet bionic pancreas with initiation in pump-naïve people with type 1 diabetes in a primary care practice with either in-person training and follow-up (PC-IP) or with training and follow-up via telehealth (PC-TH). As a comparison, the iLet will be initiated by an academic endocrinology practice with either in-person training and follow-up (EN-IP) or with training and follow-up via telehealth (EN-TH).

Developing a Deliberate Practice Intervention to Recalibrate Physician Heuristics in Trauma Triage

The objective of this study is to test the feasibility of using deliberate practice - goal-oriented training in the presence of a coach who can provide personalized, immediate feedback - to increase engagement. The research design involves recruitment of a national convenience sample of board-certified emergency physicians who will serve as trainees (n=30), pairing of the trainees with a coach, delivery of three 30-minute coaching sessions using the existing games as the training task, and assessment of the effect of the combined intervention on performance in the laboratory. The specific aims are: 1. To assess the fidelity of intervention delivery by measuring coaching skill acquisition, coaching skill drift and protocol adherence. 2. To assess the potential effect size of the intervention by comparing trainee performance on a validated virtual simulation with a control group of physicians (n=30). 3. To assess the acceptability of the intervention by using a mixture of validated instruments and semi-structured debriefing interviews with trainees to assess their engagement with the intervention.

Evaluation of Four Injectable Neuromodulators in the Glabella Area Glabella Area

The purpose of the study is to use 3D imaging to evaluate the effects of four FDA approved neuromodulators on facial lines, wrinkles and animation. Participation is available to women who have never had a cosmetic procedure above the malar region nor a treatment with a neuromodulator within 12 months. All subjects will undergo 3D imaging using the VECTRA M3 (Canfield Scientific, Inc, Fairfield, NJ) prior to treatment with a neuromodulator in order to determine their baseline dimensions. Imaging will be repeated post injection to determine change over time.

The primary objective of this study is to develop a high accuracy and automated system that can provide early assessment of burn injuries with at least 90% accuracy in absence of burn experts, using AI and FDA cleared harmonic ultrasound TDI data based on the analysis of mechanical and hemodynamic properties of the subcutaneous burned tissue. Data collected in this study will lead to the development of better diagnostic tools that could inform clinical burn practices by enabling doctors to determine burn depth and the need for surgery with greater speed and accuracy, resulting in better clinical outcomes.

To provide an effective treatment for recovery from paralysis and improved quality of life of veterans, military, and civilians with spinal cord injury/disorder (SCI/D). This is a mechanistic Phase I randomized pilot clinical trial in 16 adults with SCI/D. The investigators will compare the effects of Cognitive Multisensory Rehabilitation (CMR) vs. adaptive fitness on sensorimotor function. Objective 1: Determine if 8 weeks of CMR improves sensory and motor function in adults with SCI/D. Objective 2: Determine if 8 weeks of CMR restores brain activity and connectivity related to sensorimotor function in adults with SCI/D.

Timely Intravenous Magnesium for Asthma in Children

Many children currently being hospitalized with severe asthma could potentially avoid hospitalization and be sent home if their treatment in the emergency department was more effective. The investigators will conduct a pilot trial that will lead to a larger study to conclusively answer whether a simple and inexpensive medicine, intravenous magnesium sulfate, can be used in the emergency department to prevent hospitalization for these children.
