Prenatal Diagnosis and Treatment of Flat, Inverted and Retracted Nipples

FIRN
Start date: December 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objectives of this study are to determine the population occurrence rate of flat, inverted, or retracted nipples (FIRN) in pregnant women in our obstetrical practice through prenatal evaluation at the NOB visit and re-evaluation at the 28th-30th week of gestation, to determine the benefit of using Supple Cups as treatment for FIRN for 6-8 weeks in the third trimester to evert the nipples prior to delivery, and to evaluate the effect of prenatal diagnosis and treatment of FIRN on establishment of latch and breastfeeding rates in the postpartum period.

NCT ID: NCT05061771 Withdrawn - Bullous Pemphigoid Clinical Trials

Nomacopan Therapy in Adult Patients With Bullous Pemphigoid Receiving Adjunct Oral Corticosteroid Therapy (ARREST-BP)

ARREST-BP
Start date: May 6, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

A phase III two-part study of nomacopan, a bifunctional inhibitor of complement component C5 and leukotriene B4 (LTB4), for the treatment of moderate and severe bullous pemphigoid. There is evidence that both terminal complement activation (via C5) and the lipid mediator LTB4 may have a central role in driving the disease. In this study patients will be randomized to receive either nomacopan plus oral corticosteroids (OCS) or placebo plus OCS for a treatment period of 24 weeks. OCS will be tapered over the course of the treatment if the symptoms of disease improve.

NCT ID: NCT05060965 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Tobacco Use Cessation

Inpatient Smoking Cessation Pilot Program

Start date: October 1, 2019
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The investigators are implementing a stepwise approach to cessation with a public health focus to improve health outcomes for the investigators' pediatric patients. The investigators are focusing on addressing caregiver smoking as a modifiable risk factor during time of child's hospitalization as a window of opportunity to provide counseling and education to families on secondhand and third hand smoke exposure as well as information on NRT products to heighten caregiver contemplation for quitting. One of the central goals of the investigators' project is to increase immediate access to Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) resources for families during hospitalization which pediatric providers could potentially dose and prescribe to caregivers who are screened positive for smoking. Long-term cessation care is provided by referrals to both the MD Quitline and the John Hopkins Tobacco Treatment Clinic. Both are provided to allow participants options that the participants would find preferable from an insurance and provider perspective.
