There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary objectives of this study are twofold. The first primary objective is to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and tolerability of atomoxetine (40 mg/day for 3 days then 80 mg/day thereafter) as compared to placebo for 6 weeks plus a psychosocial platform comprised of motivational enhancement therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (MET-CBT) among adolescents (ages 14 to 19 years) with alcohol use disorder as confirmed by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - Fifth Edition (DSM-5™). The second primary objective is to leverage a human laboratory paradigm and ecological momentary assessment (EMA) methods to evaluate the effects of atomoxetine on intermediate phenotypes associated with alcohol use and outcomes in clinical trials.
The proposed investigation is a multi-center, prospective, randomized, controlled comparison of the BAGUERA®C to the control, a similar, legally marketed total disc replacement device in subjects with symptomatic cervical disc disease (SCDD) at two contiguous levels. Subjects will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio to the two-level BAGUERA®C Cervical Disc Prosthesis (investigational group) or to the two-level Mobi-C® Cervical Disc (control group). Subjects enrolled in the study will be evaluated pre-operatively, at the time of surgery, discharge, and at 6 weeks, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months and then annually until 7 years post-surgery.
Vitamin D is an essential hormone involved in bone metabolism, bone mineral density maintenance, and bone health. Vitamin D deficiency is putatively linked to poor pediatric orthopedic outcomes [1]. Further, the risk of low vitamin D associated fractures may be greater in minority pediatric populations [2]. In adults, utility of vitamin D alleles as a biomarker for bone density and fracture risk has been debated for over 10 years [3-5]. Peak bone density is achieved at 25 years old; however, most orthopedic trauma patients less than 25 years of age present with substantial vitamin D deficiencies.
This will be a retrospective study with data collected from the trauma registry. We plan to complete the data collection and analysis by 12/31/2020. Data on ride sharing will be obtained from the Uber and Lyft websites. Data pertaining to number of alcohol- and drug-related motor vehicle (and auto-ped) collisions will be obtained from the Texas Department of Transportation website, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Shared-Use Mobility Center (SUMC) and the Transformation of Public Transit, the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the U.S. Department of Transportation website (or equivalent). Sexual assault data will be obtained as available the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) database as well as from Turning Point Rape Crisis Center and surrounding hospitals in the Dallas area as well as the Uber report for sexual assaults.
DPPFit is a Healthy Lifestyle Intervention designed to reformat the effective strategies of the Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) into a tool for use in a primary care setting. DPPFit is a 16-week technology-based intervention for diabetes prevention. In keeping with the National DPP educational sessions, the intervention weeks follow the order and presentation of the N-DPP 16 session topics. The goal is to develop a pragmatic translation of the DPP that is effective in the real-world setting of primary care clinic. The hope is that in doing so, those at risk of developing type II diabetes mellitus will have evidenced-based prevention methods at their disposal.
This is a randomized, controlled, double-blind, study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of islatravir (ISL) + ulonivirine based on review of the accumulated safety data, in adult participants with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) who have been virologically suppressed for ≥6 months on bictegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (BIC/FTC/TAF) once-daily.
To assess the impact of a 12-week virtual seated physical intervention on cardiovascular health and wellness in people with chronic neurological impairments (CNI).
This study is being done to discover if there is a link between estrogen exposure and the severity of Fuchs Endothelial Corneal Disease. We are trying to understand if the decrease in estrogen levels in post-menopausal women may be a reason why FECD is seen more often in women than men.
The study is investigating efficacy, safety and tolerability of DNA-damage Response Agents (or Combinations), in participants with advanced/metastatic solid malignancies whose tumours contain molecular alterations
A pivotal study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Applaud Acoustic Enhancer when used in conjunction with conventional ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy (URS-LL) in the treatment of subjects with urinary stones.
