Online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depressive Symptoms in Rural Patients With Cardiac Disease

Individuals with heart disease and depressive symptoms suffer from higher death rates, higher rates of acute cardiac events (such as heart attacks), and faster progression of heart disease compared to those with heart disease who do not have depressive symptoms, and these problems are much worse in rural people. Unfortunately, rural people with heart disease and depressive symptoms do not receive needed therapy for depressive symptoms because of lack of mental health providers in rural areas, worries about stigma, and difficulty accessing mental health care because of multiple barriers to traveling to get care. To overcome these barriers, the investigators will compare the impact of two types of online cognitive behavioral therapy (video-conferenced face-to-face versus self-administered internet-based) and usual care on depressive symptoms to provide patients and healthcare providers with needed information about which is more effective and to increase the number of patients adequately treated.

NutriCare Plus a Medically Tailored Meal Intervention Among Patients With Lung Cancer

The NutriCare study aims to develop, implement, and evaluate the efficacy of an innovative intervention strategy (medically tailored meals plus nutrition counseling) to integrate nutrition into the standard of care for oncology to improve outcomes of vulnerable patients with lung cancer. The NutriCare study evaluates the efficacy of the intervention on optimizing nutritional status, reducing treatment-related toxicities, and improving the quality of life of patients with lung cancer who are economically disadvantaged, uninsured, racial and ethnic minorities, elderly, and/or rural residents from four major medical centers in diverse regions of the United States (U.S.). There will be two cohorts for NutriCare with cohort 1 recruiting 150 patients completing an 8-month intervention and cohort 2 recruiting 120 patients completing a 6-month intervention.

Perioperative Telemonitoring to Optimize Cancer Care and Outcomes

This study aims to see whether an at-home monitoring program that collects health, symptoms, and quality of life data in real-time can be included as part of the care of surgery patients in order to provide better recovery. Patient-generated health data (weight, temperature, oxygen level, heart rate, blood pressure, daily steps, symptoms, quality of life) using at-home monitoring devices (thermometer, a pulse oximeter, a digital scale and a Vivofit 4 watch) and smart device applications are used more and more to measure value and quality in cancer care. However, measuring patient-generated health data is not currently part of standard care following cancer surgery. An at-home monitoring program may improve the care of patients after hospital discharge from surgery and may help reduce complications by identifying issues early.

To assess to the non-inferiority of the retropubic Neomedic Knotless Incontinence Mesh (KIM) sling compared to the Gynecare Tension-free Vaginal Tape (TVT) Exact sling. Participants: Women 21 years or older with a diagnosis of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) or mixed urinary incontinence (MUI) with objective evidence of SUI planning surgery for stress urinary incontinence. Procedures (methods): Patients will be randomized to receive either the Gynecare TVT Exact sling or the retropubic Neomedic KIM sling. Patients will be followed for 1 year postoperatively.

This is a multicenter, open-label, single-arm Phase II study to evaluate anti-tumor efficacy and safety of NT-I7 in combination with atezolizumab in subjects with PD-L1-expressing (TPS ≥ 1%), metastatic (Stage IV) or locally advanced squamous or non-squamous NSCLC who have not received prior systemic therapy in the metastatic or locally advanced setting. Eligible subjects must have measurable disease according to RECIST 1.1. This Phase II study will enroll up to 83 subjects.
