The goal of this observational study is to compare the FINDER FLU A/B, RSV, SARS-CoV-2 Test to an FDA-cleared device. The study will utilize prospectively collected de-identified nasopharyngeal samples obtained from both pediatric and adult populations from subjects presenting with symptoms of respiratory illness. The main question it aims to answer are: • the study is to validate that the device intended use in terms that the device's performance meets the criteria for substantial equivalence with a predicate and satisfies the statutory criteria for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waiver.

Leg Stretching Using an Exoskeleton on Demand for People With Spasticity

The purpose of this research study is to develop a protocol using a fully wearable, portable lower-limb exoskeleton for improving leg and walking function in people with movement disorders. The study investigates the effects of wearing the device during a set of experiments including leg stretching, treadmill walking and overground walking in muscle activity, joint motion, and gait performance. The goal is to develop an effective lower-limb strategy to restore lost leg function (e.g., range of motion) and gait ability, and improve quality of life in people with movement deficits following a neurological disorder.

Electronic Alert to Improve Testing For Primary Aldosteronism in Patients With Hypertension

Primary aldosteronism (PA) is common but rarely recognized cause of hypertension that carries excess cardiovascular and renal risk and has approved targeted treatments. Despite current clinical guidelines that recommend screening in a defined set of high-risk populations, less than 5% of eligible patients are ever screened for PA. This study aims to evaluate the impact of a computer decision support Best Practice Advisory (BPA) alert on rates of screening for PA in guideline-eligible patients, referral to specialist PA care, and treatment with mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists.

Efficacy of Ra-223 in PSMA PET Optimally Selected Patients

This phase II trial studies how well prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography (PET) scans (in combination with bone scans) work in selecting patients for Ra-223 radiation therapy that have castration-resistant prostate cancer that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to the bones (bone metastasis). Ra-223 is a type of therapy that emits radiation. Radiation gives off energy which can kill tumor cells and other cells that may support the tumor cells. Ra-223 is given by infusion into the veins, where it is absorbed by the bones. PSMA PET is a type of scan used to detect prostate cancer tumors. PSMA is a radioactive tracer that binds to a specific protein that is found on prostate tumor cells. The PSMA tracer shows the areas on the PET scan where tumor cells are active. A PET scan uses a special camera to detect the energy given off from radioactive tracers (such as PSMA) to make detailed pictures of areas where the tracer accumulates in the body. The PET scan is often combined with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT) scan, which helps to map the locations where PSMA has accumulated. PSMA PET scans may be able to select patients that will benefit the most from Ra-223 treatment.

BRAIN-HEART Ultrasound Study Normative Values for Transcranial Doppler Based Cerebral Blood Flow Assessment

There is a dire need to establish normative values for transcranial Doppler(TCD) derived cerebral blood flow parameters for each type of Mechanical circulatory support (MCS) device and explore the relationship between the MCS device's systemic flow dynamics and TCD based cerebral flow(CBF) parameters TCD derived cerebral blood flow parameters can then be investigated as targets used to titrate systemic flow dynamics from MCS. Having target flow rates titrated to patient specific condition using TCD may help avoid both hypoperfusion as well as the possibility of hyperemia reperfusion injury contributing to neurological morbidity. We propose a multicenter study to gather normative data on TCD derived CBF and MCS systemic dynamics for a wide range of patient demographics. Such data collection is only possible with multi-center collaboration given the small volume of patients with MCS patients in each center.
