There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
To evaluate the differences between serum cystatin C based estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFRcys), serum creatinine based eGFR (eGFRcreat) and measured glomerular filtration rate (mGFR) in subjects at high risk for acute kidney injury (AKI) approximately 90 days following cardiac surgery
This will be a randomized, open-label study to determine if camostat+ bicalutamide decreases the proportion of people with COVID-19 who require hospitalization, compared to historical controls. Patients with symptomatic COVID-19, diagnosed as outpatients, will be randomized 1:1, stratified by gender, to treatment with standard of care alone (Arm 1) or with camostat and bicalutamide (Arm 2).
Registry is to observe and trend patterns of care and outcomes for patients treated with VIA Disc NP.
This study is being conducted in two parts, A and B. Part A is a randomized, double-blind, parallel arm study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of LYT-100 compared to placebo in adults with post-acute COVID-19 respiratory complications. Part B is an Open Label Extension (OLE) study for patients who complete Part A.
This is a phase IV, randomized, single-blind, single-center study comparing calculated total blood loss, surgical drain output and hematoma formation in patients who receive 2 doses of Tranexamic Acid (TXA) versus control group undergoing revision total shoulder arthroplasty. Patients will be randomized to either receive 2 doses of IV TXA, first dose prior to surgical incision and second dose given 3 hours later or to the control group, where no TXA will be administered.
This clinical trial will enroll participants to evaluate the effects of SPG block on post-traumatic headache. The study hypothesizes that patients that receive a SPG block with lidocaine vs. placebo (saline) will have a lower number of headache days in the week following the procedure, and will also report lower symptom scores. Eligible participants will receive one treatment (SPG block) as well as complete surveys prior to and after receiving treatment (for a total of approximately 2 weeks).
In this new research study, 80 adults aged > 60 years with a significant depressive disorder and slowed processing and/or gait speed will be randomized to receive levodopa (L-DOPA; which the Candidate has previously shown to increase psychomotor speed and decrease depressive symptoms in older adults), aerobic exercise (itself an effective antidepressant treatment as monotherapy), or their combination in a 2x2 design incorporating placebo and a stretching/toning control. Participants will be evaluated before and after this 12-week duration study across cognitive domains, psychiatric symptoms, gait kinematics and mobility, and task-based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) focused on effort-based decision making and reward processing. Data from this study will contribute toward the development of improved treatment and prevention strategies to maximize the functioning and active healthspan of older adults with neuropsychiatric disorders.
This phase IV trial studies the side effects and how well perampanel works in reducing seizure frequency in patients with high-grade glioma and focal epilepsy. Perampanel is a drug used to treat seizures. Giving perampanel together with other anti-seizure drugs may work better in reducing seizure frequency in patients with high-grade glioma and focal epilepsy compared to alternate anti-seizure drugs alone.
The study is an unblinded, randomized, controlled trial for use of the AirFlO2 device for patients admitted to Duke Hospital with COVID-19 and tachypnea (RR >20 breaths/min) and/or hypoxia (Oxygen saturation <94% on room air or requiring supplemental oxygen at baseline).
Evaluate the safety and outcomes associated between the two treatment modalities
