NCT ID: NCT05569694 Active, not recruiting - Pelvic Pain Clinical Trials

Movement-Based Pelvic Health Education for Women in Underserved Communities

PHEd
Start date: January 25, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

It is essential to provide the community with evidenced-based care to optimize healthcare outcomes; more specifically, women in underserved communities undergoing health disparities in rehabilitation. To address this issue, a movement-based pelvic health education course was developed to assess women's knowledge and adherence of the exercises in an underserved region in Western Arkansas. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of a single movement-based pelvic health education session on general pelvic health knowledge, underactive pelvic floor, and overactive pelvic floor knowledge and adherence to performing pelvic exercises in women.

NCT ID: NCT05568095 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Advanced Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Adenocarcinoma

A Clinical Trial of a New Combination Treatment, Domvanalimab and Zimberelimab, Plus Chemotherapy, for People With an Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Cancer That Cannot be Removed With Surgery That Has Spread to Other Parts of the Body

STAR-221
Start date: November 21, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This randomized Phase 3 open-label study will compare the efficacy of the T-cell immunoglobulin and immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) domain (TIGIT) monoclonal antibody domvanalimab, the anti programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibody zimberelimab, and multiagent chemotherapy versus the anti PD-1 monoclonal antibody nivolumab and multiagent chemotherapy in the first-line treatment of participants with locally advanced unresectable or metastatic gastric, gastroesophageal junction (GEJ), and esophageal adenocarcinoma.

NCT ID: NCT05567796 Active, not recruiting - Obesity Clinical Trials

A Research Study to See How Well CagriSema Helps People With Excess Body Weight Lose Weight

REDEFINE 1
Start date: November 1, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study has 2 parts: First part is the main study and second part is the extension study. During the main study participants will receive 1 of 4 study medicines. If participants continue in the extension study, they will not receive any study medicine during the extension. The main study will look at how well CagriSema helps participants with excess body weight lose weight compared to a "dummy" medicine and 2 other medicines, cagrilintide and semaglutide. Participants will either get CagriSema, cagrilintide, semaglutide or "dummy" medicine. Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. They will take one injection once a week. The study medicine is injected briefly with a thin needle, typically in the stomach, thighs or upper arms. Extension study: After the main study, not all participants will continue in the extension study. The study staff will tell the participant if they will continue or not into the extension study. In the extension study we will look at what happens to the participant's body weight and diseases related to excess body weight after the participant stops taking the study medicine. The main study will last for about 1½ years and the extension study will last for another 2 years.

NCT ID: NCT05567224 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Health Care Utilization

Connecting Low-Income Adults to Primary Care After Inpatient Discharge

Start date: December 15, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Healthcare systems and insurers have tried to reduce costs by improving the care and coordination provided to patients with high healthcare spending. Often termed, "hotspotting", these interventions seek to lower costs by reducing care provided in fragmented, high-cost settings, including the emergency department and inpatient settings, by addressing the social determinants of health and improving patients' access to lower-cost, ambulatory settings. Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), in collaboration with Tennessee's Medicaid agency (TennCare), is piloting a program to reduce costs and improve the quality of care provided to high-risk TennCare enrollees by referring them from inpatient settings to VUMC primary care services. This study seeks to evaluate this pilot by comparing outcomes between Medicaid patients referred to VUMC primary care services and similar Medicaid patients not referred to VUMC primary care services using data from surveys and administrative sources, including electronic health records and health insurance claims.

NCT ID: NCT05566847 Active, not recruiting - Type 2 Diabetes Clinical Trials

Overcoming Therapeutic Inertia Among Adults Recently Diagnosed With Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: September 7, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Therapeutic inertia may result from providers, patients, and/or systems, but can be detrimental to a patients' health by putting them at risk for diabetes complications, though addressing it early can mitigate some of its effects. In Type 2 diabetes (T2D) care, this may look like failure to initiate metformin therapy early in the disease course. This project aims to evaluate the effects of proactive outreach by a non-physician clinician (Accountable Population Manager [APM]) to patients with newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes. The team hypothesizes individuals receiving proactive outreach by an APM will be more likely to achieve glycemic targets at 6 months following start of the intervention.
