There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Thanks to tele-assessment methods, it may be possible to evaluate DMD patients without traveling to clinical centers. In recent years, the applicability of remote assessment methods in DMD patients, as in many populations, is being investigated. However, studies have generally focused on a single evaluation parameter such as physical function, a special evaluation method or a special evaluation tool. The aim of this study is to investigate whether remote assessment of functional performance and quality of life in DMD patients is valid and reliable. If a valid and reliable tele-evaluation method that includes functional performance and quality of life parameters is found to be valid and reliable, the travel burden on patients and caregivers can be eased, patients' stress and anxiety related to travel can be reduced, caregivers can save time and energy and provide patients with the best possible treatment.
Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the amounts of BPI (Bactericidal permeability protein) and interleukin-1beta (IL-1β) in gingival fluid samples obtained from individuals with periodontally healthy and periodontal disease, to compare these amounts between study groups, and to evaluate their relationship with clinical parameters. In cases where clinical parameters increase, IL-1β amounts also increase significantly. The amount of IL-1β in individuals with periodontal disease is significantly higher compared to healthy individuals. There is positive correlation between BPI and clinical parameters. The amount of BPI in individuals with periodontal disease is significantly higher than in healthy individuals. More studies are needed to better understand the importance and therapeutic effect of BPI in periodontitis
In this study, the investigators aimed to evaluate the effect of ultrasound-guided anterior iliac block which was performed preoperatively. Anterior iliac bone harvesting is associated with severe postoperative pain. As several fascial plane blocks were defined to provide analgesia, their effects are debatable and requires high volumes of local anesthetic considering the regional anesthesia technique used for the main surgical procedure.
Decreased ankle dorsiflexion range of motion (DFROM) has been identified among the factors that increase the risk of lateral ankle sprain (LAS) in basketball players. Restoring the DFROM is important in restoring reduced functional abilities and reducing the risk of re-injury. There is evidence that talocrural joint mobilization improves DFROM, but studies investigating the effectiveness of different mobilization techniques are needed. Our study aims to investigate the effects of single-session Mulligan and Maitland talocrural joint mobilization methods on dorsiflexion joint range of motion, jumping performance, and kinesiophobia in elite basketball players.
It's an observational study. Purpose of the study: To evaluate the neuromotor development of scaphocephaly cases. 21 infants diagnosed with scaphocephaly aged 2-17 months were included. - Is there any delay in the neuromotor development of scaphocephaly cases? - If delay is observed, in which area is it most common? Denver-II Developmental Screening Test and Alberta Motor Infant Scale were applied to the participants.
The aim of this study was to measure the acute change in oxygen saturation of skeletal muscle during resistance exercise in the upper extremity using near-infrared spectroscopy.
The purpose of this study; To investigate the effects of pelvic floor muscle exercises on vaginal and sexual health in postmenopausal women. Vaginal symptoms such as vaginal dryness, burning and dyspareunia occur in the postmenopausal period. Vaginal symptoms affect sexual function, leading to a decrease in quality of life. In our study, we plan to evaluate vaginal dryness, one of the vaginal symptoms, using Schirmer's Test. Also in our study; Severities of vaginal dryness, burning and dyspareunia will be evaluated with the visual analog scale (VAS), sexual function will be evaluated with the Post-Menopausal Sexuality Questionnaire and Female Sexual Function Scale, vaginal aging will be evaluated with the Daily Effect of Vaginal Aging Scale, and the presence/severity of pelvic floor symptoms will be evaluated with the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20. The cases will be randomized into two groups and pelvic floor exercises will be given to one group. After the exercises are given, vaginal pH and moistness will be evaluated for acute effect. In the other group, vaginal PH and moisture will be measured after 5 minutes. The cases will be followed without any intervention to the control group. After 12 weeks, the same evaluations will be made to both groups and the results will be compared. The data will be compared using appropriate statistical methods (statistical significance value will be taken as p<0.05) and discussed with the literature.
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a topical fluoride agent that has emerged in recent years and has a strong potential to arrest dentinal caries in early childhood caries. SDF has been developed as an effective non-invasive treatment method, especially in the non-cooperative preschool group, with its advantages such as easy application, low cost, and limited technical difficulties. The aims of this study were as follow: (a) to evaluate the efficacy of 38% GDF in arresting active dental caries lesions and reducing or preventing associated dental pain and infections in at-risk young children; and (b) how SDF treatment is perceived and acceptable by parents. The null hypothesis of the study was that 38% SDF treatment will be effective in arresting active dental caries lesions and reducing the incidence of pain and infection in young children, and is well-accepted by parents. The study group of this clinical research will consist of pediatric patients and their parents who were selected by easily accessible case sampling method and applied to Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Dentistry Pediatric Dentistry clinic. The working group will consist of a total of 48 children and their parents who meet the inclusion criteria. Parents will also be briefed on the GDF, follow-up instructions, oral hygiene instructions, and dietary education. After a baseline examination including radiographs taken during a standard dental examination, 38% GDF will be applied to carious lesions detected in primary teeth. Carious lesions will be treated with 38% SDF application once or twice. Children will be reassessed at 3-week, 3-month and 6-month follow-up sessions to assess color and structural changes in carious lesions (soft/hard). Parents will be asked to answer a questionnaire including questions about pain or infection symptoms and their views on SDF treatment.
The aim of our study is; To evaluate the functionality of lower extremity unilateral amputees, to ensure that the results of the Medicare Functional K Classification System, which provides subjective data for the evaluator, become an objective evaluation method and to determine the functional levels of unilateral amputees; To create an objective data set by applying one-leg standing test, ten meter walking test, L test, figure-8 walking test, joint range of motion, amputee mobility estimator scale, houghton scale and joint position sense evaluation tests.
Esophageal Doppler Monitoring (Deltex CardioQ Esophageal Doppler Monitor, ODM) is used to manage patients' fluid therapy by non-invasively measuring continuous cardiac output with an esophageal probe. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of patient position changes on cardiac indices and vital signs in patients who underwent major abdominal cancer surgery with laparoscopic and open surgery using ODM.
