The Long-term Simultaneous Motor Cortex Stimulation and Balance Training

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a simple, portable, and low-cost technology applied in neuroscience for therapeutic purposes and neurophysiological research of brain activity. Enhancing the impacts of training and improving performance in athletes through the use of tDCS is a significant aim for today. The primary purpose of this study is to determine how non-professional active athletes' balance and movement measurements can be affected by the simultaneous application of a 4-week balance training and anodal tDCS of motor cortex(M1). This study hypothesizes that anodal stimulation of motor cortex will enhance performance in balance training among moderately active and healthy participants. The study outcomes will provide data for literatures on performance enhancement by demonstrating how effective skill development can be acquired in a short time among moderately active athletes. In addition, the study outcomes will provide convenient tDCS parameter for future neuromodulation studies interested in the treatment of balance disorders in patients and the elderly. Uniquely, in our study, the link between tDCS and movement parameters will be investigated. Additionally, a long-term balance training program in combination with tDCS of M1 in amateur has never been tested in amateur athletes. The secondary purpose of the study is to obtain feedback from participants via pre- and post-tDCS and balance training, using continuous performance tests, estimated reaction time, and depression-anxiety scales to gather data on reaction time, anticipation, impulsivity, attention, and mood changes that directly affect athlete performance. In continuous performance test, a decrease in reaction times without an increase in the number of errors (misstep-commission) and the number of non-pressing (non-pressing-omission) will be considered as a successful outcome. While increasing balance performance and reducing the reaction time is anticipated as a positive outcome, simultaneously changes in mood, attention, and error rate is an unanticipated and undesired outcome. Although the selected stimulation area is not directly related to these functions, this study will additionally control for any potential changes that might have been missed in functions that are not the study's primary focus.

Acute Effect of Osteopathic Visceral Mobilization Techniques

Multiple Sclerosis (MS), caused by lesions in the white matter of the central nervous system, is an autoimmune inflammatory demyelinating chronic disease. The disease may present with many findings from fatigue, spasticity, balance and gait disturbances to bladder-bowel dysfunction (Ferreira, A.P.S., et al., 2019). When the rehabilitation methods for incontinence were examined, pelvic floor muscle training, tibial nerve stimulation and sacral neuromodulation were frequently encountered (Rahnama'I, MS., 2020). Pelvic floor muscle training should create an effective result in MS patients, and the training should be done for a long time, such as 8-12 weeks. No study has been found examining the effects of manual therapy techniques and diaphragmatic breathing exercise in the acute phase in functional or neurogenic bladder-intestinal dysfunctions.

The Effect of Video Game on Children With Familial Mediterranean Fever

This study was planned to be carried out as a pretest-posttest control group design in experimental type and randomized groups in order to determine the effect of educating children aged 8-14 with a diagnosis of Familial Mediterranean Fever through a mobile game application and training booklet on their disease knowledge, disease self-efficacy, symptom management and quality of life. H0: Informing children with Familial Mediterranean Fever through mobile games and educational booklets has no effect on the child's knowledge of the disease, disease self-efficacy, symptom management and quality of life. Compared to children with Familial Mediterranean Fever who were informed by mobile games, and children with Familial Mediterranean Fever who were informed through the education booklet and were not informed at all; H1: Disease knowledge increases. H2: Disease self-efficacy increases. H3: The number of attacks, activity intolerance, number of symptoms and severity of pain decrease. H4: Quality of life increases.

This study will evaluate the effect of a brief intervention on anthropometric and metabolic changes in overweight women with low health literacy. The total number of samples was determined as 88. It was decided to recruit a total of 124 people, 62 people in each group, with a 40% loss in the groups. Brief intervention interviews will be conducted with the intervention group. Brief intervention interviews will take an average of 20-30 minutes and four times. The control group will not be intervened except for the first and last evaluations.

Repeated (rTMS) offers a potential treatment pathway for neurological and psychiatric illnesses. rTMS benefit rate may vary depending on many factors such as the region where it is applied, the progression and the disease degree. The possible effects of TMS on Alzheimer's pathophysiology and modification of disease process (neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant) will also be revealed through blood samples taken from patients before and after treatment. These approaches also constitute the original value of our study.
