There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The use of telemedicine in musculoskeletal assessment has been historically low. The current COVID 19 global pandemic has forced a paradigm shift with many centers rapidly adopting virtual visits to conduct care resulting in rapid expansion of use of telemedicine amongst practices. Mayoclinic has published The Telemedicine Musculoskeletal Examination for adults. Paediatric Musculoskeletal Matters (PMM) has put video Pediatric Gait, Arms, Legs and Spine (V-pGALS) assessment sheet on their website. However, there is a lack of the acceptability and reliability of these tools. The aim of this study is to investigate acceptability and reliability of real-time virtual video Pediatric Gait, Arms, Legs and Spine (V-pGALS) assessment for musculoskeletal assessment of children for telemedicine visits.
It is known that low back injuries experienced by weightlifting athletes cause a decrease in performance. The effects of spinal manipulative therapy, which has been found to positively affect performance in various sports, are not known in the Olympic style weightlifting athletes. This study is aimed to investigate the effects of lumbosacral chiropractic spinal manipulative therapy on muscle strength, range of motion, balance, and pain in Olympic style weightlifting athletes. In this research, 40 male Olympic style weightlifting athletes are planned to take place. Male athletes will be randomly divided into two groups as a control and a treatment group. To the individuals in the treatment group; lumbal region chiropractic high-speed, low amplitude (High Velocity, Low amplitude: HVLA) spinal manipulation and sacroiliac joint chiropractic HVLA manipulation are planned to perform once a week for a total of three weeks. No manipulation will be made to individuals in the treatment group. Before and after the manipulation; the maximum isometric muscular force, the lumbar spine range of motion, balance performance and pain intensity will be evaluated by a back dynamometer, hand finger-ground distance test (HFGD), and Modified Schober test, flamingo balance test, and visual analog scale. SPPS 25 (IBM Corp. Released 2017. IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 25.0. Armonk, NY: IBM Corp.) version will be used to analyze the data.
Hypospadias repair is a urological surgical operation that is very painful in the postoperative period and requires long-term analgesia. A dorsal penial nerve block (DPNB) and pudendal nerve block (PNB), which are regional anesthesia techniques for this operation, are used to provide postoperative analgesia.
Patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) can experience symptoms such as lassitude, pain, muscle cramps, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, rash, skin dryness, sleep disorders, and emotional and sexual problems after the treatment.
Subacromial Impingement Syndrome (SIS) is one of the musculoskeletal system problems. SIS, which is the most common cause of shoulder pain, constitutes 44-65% of complaints of shoulder pain. Studies have shown that exercise is effective in treating patients with SIS, but the effectiveness and superiority of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) to each other is uncertain. NMES is widely applied in physiotherapy. In the SIS, the lower trapezius and serratus anterior muscle are affected. Therefore, our aim is to determine the effects of exercises and NMES used in patients with SIS on pain, range of motion (ROM), muscle strength and functional status, neck pain and sleep quality.
During the cesarean section; Hypothermia can be seen due to reasons such as anesthesia, premedication drugs, cold operating room environment, exposure of tissues and organs, and use of cold intravenous fluids. Hypothermia associated with cesarean may affect maternal and fetal health negatively. As a result of hypothermia, coagulopathy, infection, undesirable cardiac events that cause an increase in oxygen consumption, delay in postoperative recovery and wound healing, postoperative nausea and vomiting, chills and relief may be observed in the mother. Newborns born from hypothermic mothers have lower body temperature, pH and Apgar scores. It is important to evaluate all women in terms of risk factors in the preoperative period in the prevention of hypothermia and complications related to hypothermia. Prevention of hypothermia, which has negative effects on maternal and newborn health, is one of the risks that the nurse can address independently. Therefore, this research; In order to determine the effect of heating different body areas using compressed air heating technique during cesarean section on hypothermia, tremor, thermal comfort, postpartum comfort and maternal satisfaction, a parallel group was planned as a randomized controlled trial. The study is planned to be conducted in Hacettepe University Adult Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Department delivery room and obstetrics service. Research data, Introductory Information Form (Appendix 1), Obstetric and Postpartum Features Form (Appendix 2), Patient Monitoring Form (Appendix 3), Termal Comfort Perception Scale (Appendix 4), Shivering Level Diagnostic Form (Appendix 5), LATCH Breastfeeding The Diagnostic and Measurement Tool (Appendix 6) will be collected using the Visual Analogue Scale (Appendix 7) and the Thermal Comfort Scale that will be developed by the researchers. Pregnant women who meet the inclusion criteria will be included in the research. Women will be divided into 4 groups as the lower extremities are heated, the upper extremities are heated, the whole body is heated, and the control group. According to the group of women; It will be heated 30 minutes before surgery and 30 minutes after surgery with lower limb, upper limb or whole body. Women in the control group will not be heated.
The procedure of puncturing during needle insertion and moving needles within the tissues, the insertion angle, diameter of needles, and insertion techniques all lead the patient to experience pain. However, patients tolerate needle insertion more easily when the pain is managed well. Therefore, pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods are needed in pain control in order to improve comfort when undergoing hemodialysis (HD), and to facilitate patient's compliance to treatment over a longer period. Being one of the non-pharmacological practices, aromatherapy is a part of phototherapy, which means "therapy with plants" and also aims to manage symptoms such as pain as well as the treatment itself.
The research was carried out in randomized controlled experimental type in order to determine the effect of light in ICU on patients' sleep quality and physiological parameters. The cases were assigned to the experimental and control groups according to the simple randomization method. The research universe; Between May 2019 and December 2019, sick individuals who were admitted to the 5 isolation rooms in the Reanimation Intensive Care clinic in the education and research hospital in Istanbul were formed. The research sample is; As a result of the power made for the study to be experimentally designed; a total of 148, with a minimum of 74 for each group. In collecting data; Patient Information Form, Numerical Pain Rating Scale, Richards Campbell Sleep Scale, Glaskow Coma Scale, Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale, Bedside Monitors were used to measure physiological parameters. The data obtained as a result of the research were made using the package program named SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 24).
This is a study for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic leukemia (SLL) who have previously received treatment with at least a BTK inhibitor. The main purpose is to compare LOXO-305 to idelalisib plus rituximab or bendamustine plus rituximab. Participation could last up to four years, and possibly longer, if the disease does not progress.
Ovarian cancer is the most common cause of death in gynecological cancer. Approximately 75% of epithelial ovarian cancers are detected at an advanced stage. Metastasis and spread are mostly through transperitoneal planting and neighborhood by shedding from the ovarian surface. Metastasis mostly occurs in the peritoneum, omentum, and intestines. The rectosigmoid colon is the main part of the intestine affected by metastasis due to its neighborhood. Treatment in ovarian cancer consists of a combination of cytoreduction surgery and platinum-based chemotherapy. Surgery is the basis of the treatment, and the main goal is to achieve no residual visible tumor (complete cytoreduction: R0). The residual tumor is one of the main factors affecting survival and reflects the possibilities of the surgical center and the team. Multiple surgical procedures (total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, total omentectomy, peritonectomy, retroperitoneal lymphadenectomies such as pelvic and paraaortic, bowel resections, splenectomy, distal pancreatectomy, various resections related to the bladder, liver, stomach, and diaphragm) may be required to achieve complete or optimal cytoreduction. In the involvement of the rectosigmoid colon, primarily the serosa, then the muscular layer and finally the mucosa are infiltrated due to the nature of the spread, and therefore most of the involvement is observed in the seromuscular layer. In seromuscular infiltration, resection of the rectosigmoid colon or shaving of tumoral implants without resection can be performed. There are advantages and disadvantages of each method in terms of morbidity. Although there are retrospective studies evaluating recurrence and survival between both methods, as far as investigators know, no randomized prospective studies have been conducted comparing these two methods. The investigators designed this study to compare these two methods successfully applied in our clinic in a prospective randomized study.
