The Effect of Stoma Care Education on the Knowledge and Skill Levels of Pediatric Surgery Nurses

This project; It is a quasi-experimental prospective study in a single group pre-test post-test order. No randomization will be made in the selection of the sample, and 30 nurses working in the Pediatric Surgery Clinic in hospitals in Izmir and meeting the inclusion criteria will be included in the study. The data of the study will be collected through the Nurse Descriptive Characteristics Questionnaire and the Pediatric Stoma Care Knowledge and Skills Questionnaire. Pre-training introductory characteristics and pediatric stoma care knowledge and skill level of all nurses participating in the study will be measured. After the measurement, the nurses participating in the study will be given training on pediatric stoma care. Immediately after the training and three months later, the pediatric stoma care knowledge and skill levels of the nurses participating in the study will be re-measured. The introductory characteristics of the nurses involved in the project will be given as number and percentage distributions. Comparisons between nurses' introductory characteristics and Stoma Knowledge and Skills Questionnaire before and after education; It will be evaluated by non-parametric or parametric appropriate test. Comparisons between nurses' Stoma Knowledge and Skills Questionnaire scores in the pre- and post-education period will be evaluated by non-parametric or parametric appropriate test in dependent groups. The statistical significance value of the project was determined as p≤0.005. It is planned that the results of the project will mediate an international article and statement in which the effect of stoma care education on the knowledge and skill level of pediatric surgery nurses is presented. As a result of the project, if it is determined that stoma care education has an effect on the knowledge and skill level of pediatric surgery nurses, it is predicted that the quality of care of children with stoma who receive care in other institutions and organizations can be increased and the comfort of the child can be increased.

Comparison of Respiratory Muscle Activations During Dyspnea Reduction Positions in Individuals

Chronic and progressive dyspnea is the most characteristic symptom of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. There are studies in the literature showing that electromyography activations of respiratory muscles increase in individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and that the severity of the perceived shortness of breath is associated with muscle activation. However, no study has been found comparing respiratory muscle activations during pursed lip breathing and normal breathing in the dyspnea reduction positions and supine position used in the treatment and management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of different dyspnea reduction positions on respiratory muscle activations separately, to compare respiratory muscle activation during normal breathing, respiratory control and pursed lip breathing during these different positions, and to classify muscle activations according to the severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Objectives: Gynecologic examination has been a concern for women. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of multimedia education on the fear of gynecologic examination. Material and Methods: This randomized controlled study will conducted with 80 voluntary patients. Participants will grouped as training group and control group. The multimedia-based information about vaginal examination is a video based patient education program. The anxiety levels/ scores of the patients will be assessed using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI-S [state], STAI-T [trait]) and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The entire evaluation will be repeated before and after the examination.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease that occurs with the effect of dopaminergic pathways in the substantia nigra and causes a progressive decrease in motor functions. When the literature is examined; Physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs applied in PD include conventional physiotherapy methods and neurophysiological based activity training. Classical physiotherapy programs; It includes stretching, strengthening, aerobics, posture exercises, balance and coordination training. PH treatment in recent years; Virtual reality is gradually enriched with motor imagery and robot-assisted physiotherapy applications and different exercise methods including dance, music therapy, yoga, pilates and spinal stabilization exercises. Stabilization exercises, which form the basis of spinal stabilization training, use the basic principles of motor learning. The aim of the spinal stabilization exercise program is to support the vertebral column by increasing the strength and endurance of the stabilizer muscles, to improve the spinal posture by increasing kinesthetic awareness and to improve balance control. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of telerehabilitation practices even more. Telerehabilitation can be defined as providing rehabilitation services remotely using information and communication technologies. In order to minimize the risk of transmission in the COVID-19 pandemic, physical activity levels of individuals have been reduced by restricting social life and the access of sick individuals to rehabilitation services is severely restricted. In addition, rehabilitation professionals are at risk in the treatment of these patients due to the serious transmission risk of COVID-19. Considering these situations, it is emphasized by many authorities that telerehabilitation practices should be expanded. Inactivity, which occurs as a result of restrictions in access to social isolation and rehabilitation services, brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic in Parkinson's patients, adversely affects the progression of the disease. Telerehabilitation allows patients who cannot access rehabilitation due to their geographical, economic or physical disabilities to benefit from rehabilitation services. It is known that telerehabilitation applied in various neurological diseases reduces the fatigue levels of the patients, improves their functional activities and quality of life. In line with all these reasons, this study was planned to investigate the effectiveness of two different exercise programs adapted to the telerehabilitation program in Parkinson's patients during the Covid 19 pandemic.
