The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether enhanced dermatologic management can reduce incidence of grade greater than or equal to (>=) 2 dermatologic adverse events of interest (DAEIs) when compared with standard-of-care skin management in participants with locally advanced or metastatic stage IIIB/C-IV epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated first-line with amivantamab and lazertinib.
Epilepsy is among the diseases that cause loss of neurological abilities regardless of any trauma. Reflexology is one of the complementary therapies based on activating the body's self-healing power through special hand techniques applied to the feet. It is known that there are positive changes in seizure frequency, fatigue, stress and sleep quality in epilepsy patients after reflexology. This study will be conducted to determine the effect of reflexology on seizure frequency, fatigue, stress and sleep quality in epilepsy patients.
H1-1 Hypothesis: Warm pads applied to the breast during episiotomy repair in the intervention group will have an effect on increasing milk production compared with the control group. H1-2 Hypothesis: Warm pads applied to the breast of the intervention group during episiotomy repair will have an effect on increasing breastfeeding motivation compared to the control group. H1-3 Hypothesis: Warm pads applied to the breast of the intervention group during episiotomy repair will have an effect on reducing the mother's perception of insufficient milk compared to the control group.
The purpose of this study is to assess if adding LY3537982 in combination with standard of care anti-cancer drugs is more effective than standard of care in participants with untreated advanced NSCLC. NSCLC must have a change in a gene called KRAS G12C. Study participation, including follow-up, could last up to 3 years, depending on how you and your lung cancer are doing.
This is an observational study in which only data will be collected from adults with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma. These adults should be prescribed a different treatment after treatment with atezolizumab and bevacizumab, or another similar combination of drugs, by their doctors. Unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC) is a type of liver cancer that cannot be treated with surgery. In the past, sorafenib was the only approved first-line anti-cancer drug for people with uHCC. Regorafenib and other drugs were approved as second-line treatments for uHCC if a person could not take sorafenib or it stopped working for them. Lately, another first-line (1L) treatment called immuno-oncology (IO) immune checkpoint inhibitor combination (1L-IO combo), like atezolizumab with bevacizumab (AB), has become the preferred choice of treatment. This is because of the meaningful impact on patient survival. 1L-IO combo are drugs that help the body's defense system recognize and kill cancer cells. Since the other treatments were previously approved for use following sorafenib, the best order to take these treatments in following an 1L-IO combo is unknown. To better understand and determine this order, more knowledge is needed about how well different treatments work in participants with uHCC who have been treated with AB or another 1L-IO combo. The main purpose of this study is to learn more about how well different treatments work when given after first-line treatment with AB or another approved 1L-IO combo. To do this, researchers will collect data on how long the participants live (also called overall survival) from the start of any treatment given after the first-line treatment. In addition, researchers will also collect the following information to learn more about the participants who will be given a different treatment after the 1L-IO combo: - characteristics including age, sex, and race, and signs and symptoms of the participants over the duration of their first-line treatment - the length of time from the first to the last dose (also called duration of therapy) of the treatments given after the 1L-IO combo - the length of time until a participant's cancer worsens, or they die (also called progression free survival) from the start of the treatments given after the 1L-IO combo - the number of participants whose tumor completely disappears or shrinks (also called overall tumor response) after taking the treatments given after the 1L-IO combo - the sequence of treatments given after the 1L-IO combo Data will be collected from September 2023 to December 2026 and cover a period of around 3 years. The data will be collected using medical records or by interviewing the participants during their routine visits to the doctor. Researchers will observe participants from the start of the treatment given after the 1L-IO combo until the end of their participation in the study. In this study, only data from routine care will be collected. No visits or tests are required as part of this study.
The primary objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of tarlatamab with placebo as assessed by progression free survival (PFS).
Breast cancer is defined as the most common type of cancer that causes death among women (Siegel et al. 2019). It constitutes 24% of cancers and 15% of cancer-related deaths in women (T.R. Ministry of Health 2020). According to statistics made towards the end of 2020, there are 7.8 million women in the world who were diagnosed with breast cancer in the last 5 years and are alive. It is estimated that one in every 8 women will develop breast cancer in developed countries (WHO 2021). The Ministry of Health reported the frequency of breast cancer in our country as 45.6/100,000 in women in 2018. The incidence of breast cancer is reported to be higher, especially in the 45-54 age range (TC Ministry of Health 2020). Chemotherapy is one of the most frequently preferred treatment methods in the treatment of breast cancer and can cause serious side effects such as pain, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, mouth sores, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety and depression, and may lead to a deterioration in the quality of life of patients (Waks and Winer 2019, Samami et al. 2021, Sajadian et al. 2017, McFarland et al. 2018, Hamer et al. 2017). In the international and national literature, no study has been found comparing the effects of laughter and mindfulness therapy on the anxiety, depression, quality of life and spiritual well-being experienced by breast cancer patients. In this study, it is planned to investigate the effects of laughter and mindfulness therapy applications on the anxiety, depression, quality of life and spiritual well-being levels of women with breast cancer receiving chemotherapy.
The goal of this experimental study is to compare the effects of early (2nd week) cardiac rehabilitation applied in addition to usual care on functional capacity, quality of life, frailty and body composition in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does early cardiac rehabilitation contribute to increasing functional capacity? - Does early cardiac rehabilitation have positive effects on quality of life, frailty and body composition? Participants will be divided into 2 groups (n = 50) in a randomized controlled manner. Patients in the training group (n:25) will participate in an 8-week supervised cardiac rehabilitation program as an outpatient after discharge. Patients in the control group (n:25) will be provided with usual care after discharge. The control group will be informed about secondary prevention approaches and a home-based exercise program will be recommended. In addition to secondary prevention approaches and home-based exercise program, the training group will receive 3 sessions/week, 60 minutes of supervised cardiac rehabilitation for 8 weeks. All patients will be evaluated at baseline and after 8 weeks. Researchers will compare training and control groups to see if effects on functional capacity, quality of life, frailty, body composition
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common chronic rheumatic disease of unknown etiology in childhood. JIA covers several different subgroups and is predominantly manifested by peripheral arthritis. Joint swelling, effusion, tenderness, pain in JIA; causes functional limitations, fatigue and quality of life disorders. Chronic inflammation limits the patient's daily activities and productivity. Self-management is defined as an individual's ability to manage their symptoms, treatment, lifestyle changes, and the psychosocial and cultural consequences of health conditions. Good self-efficacy and coping skills reduce the health and financial burden on the individual as well as on health care, benefiting society in general. Telerehabilitation is the dissemination of rehabilitation services through communication technologies. In the literature, it is seen that the studies on internet-based exercise applications are limited. In the studies, people were encouraged to physical activity with an internet-based application and the benefits of being active were given within the scope of patient education, and it was reported that the level of physical activity effectively improved as a result. It can also increase endurance, has been reported to be safe and feasible. In our study, unlike the literature, the self-management program and exercise applications will be integrated into the internet-based telerehabilitation method, based on the fact that the exercise practices in JIA are effective in disease management and improvement of symptoms. Therefore, in our study; the effectiveness of telerehabilitation-based exercise methods to be applied additionally synchronously and asynchronously to self-management education in children and adolescents with JIA on pain, disease activity, functional status, fatigue, quality of life, psychosocial status, self-efficacy and satisfaction will be examined and compared.
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between different ultrasonographic indices used in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome and clinical parameters. The main questions it aims to answer are: - To what extent are the ultrasonographic parameters used in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome related to the patient's clinical complaints? - To what extent are the different ultrasonographic parameters used in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome correlated with each other?
