Serious Game Simulation and Comics in School Students

The aim of the study is to determine the effect of first aid training for injuries given to secondary school students through serious game simulation and comic books on knowledge, skills and motivation. Hypotheses: H1: First aid training given through simulation applications affects the level of knowledge. H2: First aid training given through simulation applications affects the skill level. H3: First aid training given with simulation application affects motivation. H4: First aid training given with comics affects the level of knowledge. H5: First aid training given with comic books affects the skill level. H6: First aid training given with comics affects motivation. METHOD: The research will be conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design with children studying in the 5th and 6th grades of schools in the central district of Aksaray. One group will be given first aid training for injuries prepared with serious games, the other group will be given first aid training for injuries prepared with comic books. No intervention will be made to the control group. Serious game scenario software prepared based on the literature will be integrated into the computer. Appropriate statistics will be made after the research by applying the prepared data collection tools. With this research, the gap in the literature will be filled, children's first aid knowledge and skills in injuries will be increased, and school health nurses will be provided with up-to-date teaching material.

Effects Of A Home Based Exercise Program Following Total Hip Arthroplasty

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of home-based exercise on pain-related factors, postural control and early functional parameters in individuals undergoing total hip arthroplasty. Forty-four individuals with hip osteoarthritis were included in current study. Individuals were randomized as study group (n=23) and control group (n=21) by drawing lots. Individuals in the study group were followed up with a personalized home-based exercise program for 6 weeks. Individuals in the control group were followed up with an exercise training brochure. The exercise program of the individuals in the study group was checked at two-week intervals and adjustments were made in the exercise program. All individuals were evaluated before the operation, 2 weeks after the operation, and 12 weeks after the operation, and their data were recorded. Range of motion was measured with an inclinometer, muscle strength was measured with a hand dynamometer, joint position sense was measured with a target angle test, pain was measured with a visual pain scale, leg length was measured with a tape measure, and finally, the Q angle was measured with a goniometer. In addition to these,Tampa kinesiophobia scale, Oxford hip score and international physical activity scale were used. Timed up-and-go test was used to evaluate functional performance. Foursquare step test was used to evaluate balance, and finally, tetrax posturography device was used to evaluate postural control.

Cardiometabolic Effects of Combined Aerobic Exercise and Non-Exercise Physical Activity

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate whether increasing non-exercise physical activity combined with aerobic exercise in overweight young women is superior to performing aerobic exercise alone in terms of some cardiometabolic variables. The main question it aims to answer is: • Do both increasing non-exercise physical activity and doing aerobic exercise add more beneficial cardiometabolic effects to performing aerobic exercise alone in overweight young women? To answer this question, overweight young women will be randomly assigned to two different groups of this research. Volunteers in one of the groups will do moderate-intensity aerobic training and the other group will increase their non-exercise physical activities in addition to moderate-intensity aerobic training. Then researchers will compare two groups to see the differences in cardiometabolic variables.

The Effect of Face Hand Fan Application on Dyspnea

Diagnosing and managing dyspnea in patients with COPD is very important. Although pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods are used in the management of dyspnea, it is recommended that pharmacological methods be supported by non-pharmacological methods. Hand fan application, which is one of the non-pharmacological methods used in dyspnea management, provides an increase in self-efficacy in patients in addition to the stimulation of cold air flow to the trigeminal nerve branches, mucosa and skin. Although there are studies reporting that applying cold air to the face with a hand fan is effective in reducing the severity of dyspnea in different patient groups, the number of studies examining the effectiveness of applying cold air to the face with a hand fan in patients with COPD is quite limited. This project was planned to determine the effect of applying cold air to the face with a fan on the severity of dyspnea and quality of life in COPD patients.
