NCT ID: NCT06198569 Completed - Postural Kyphosis Clinical Trials

The Effect of Scapular Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Exercises

Start date: November 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Posture is generally defined as the sitting or standing position of a person's body. Repetitive or prolonged positioning in an atypical posture may also occur as a risk factor for the development of musculoskeletal diseases. Race, gender, seasons, nutrition, socio-economic status, profession and occupations, psychological state, hygiene, sleep patterns, exercise habits, fatigue, fractures, soft tissue disorders, disorders in the normal alignment angles of the joints, and emotional states such as joy, grief, and distress. It affects posture. Creating professional awareness among physiotherapy and rehabilitation students is very important for the physiotherapy profession, which has a very important role in protecting and improving public health, to achieve its professional goals. On the other hand, physiotherapists and physiotherapy students are at great risk of musculoskeletal disorders due to their working conditions and working postures. The basic principle of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation techniques, defined as facilitating the responses of the neuromuscular mechanism by stimulating the proprioceptors and briefly referred to as PNF, is based on the principle that physiological movements in the human body have rotational and oblique characters and that a greater response can be achieved with movements performed against maximum resistance. The shoulder girdle serves purposes beyond stabilization and movement of the extremities. The clavicle and scapula cooperate as a single unit in the shoulder girdle. The scapula is not a weight-bearing structure during normal functions; rather, it supports the attachment of skeletal muscles.

NCT ID: NCT06197555 Completed - Clinical trials for Dentine Hypersensitivity

Comparision of the Clinical Efficacy of Different Desensitizing Toothpastes

Start date: May 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Dentin hypersensitivity is a common problem in society. Untreated hypersensitivity affects the patient's quality of life, complicates plaque control and increases the risk of caries and periodontal disease. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of desensitizing toothpastes containing sodium fluoride, stannous fluoride, nano-hydroxyapatite, 8% arginine and calcium carbonate. Fourty eight patients with at least two teeth with positive responses to air and mechanical stimulus were included in the study and were divided into four groups. Sodium fluoride (Colgate®, Cavity Protection) in group A, stannous fluoride (Oral B® Gum Calm & Sensitivity) in group B, nano-hydroxyapatite (ApaCare®) in group C and 8% arginine and calcium carbonate combination in group D (Colgate® Sensitive Pro- ReliefTM) were used by the patients continuously for 16 weeks. Dentin hypersensitivity, by using VAS and Shiff scores and periodontal parameters were evaluated at baseline, 2nd week, 4th week and last 16th week.

NCT ID: NCT06197113 Completed - Neuropathic Pain Clinical Trials

Teta Burst Versus 10 Hz Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation İn Neuropathic Pain: A Sham Controlled Comparison

Start date: July 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Neuropathic pain is a common complication after spinal cord injury (SCI), which significantly affects the patient's quality of life and may be resistant to pharmacological treatment. In our study, we aimed to evaluate the efficacies of intermittent theta burst (iTBS) and high frequency (10 Hz) repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) by comparing them with each other and with sham stimulation, in the treatment of neuropathic pain resistant to pharmacological treatment in patients with SCI. Question 1: İs rTMS anda iTBS treatment, useful for pain severity and the effect of pain on daily functions, in the treatment of neuropathic pain in SCI Question 2: Are rTMS and iTBS treatments effective in depression in patients with neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury?
