Acute Effects of Heat, Cold and Stretching on Knee Proprioception and Vertical Jump

The aim of our study is to investigate the effects of heat, cold and stretching on knee proprioception and vertical jump. 60 healthy individuals were randomized into hot, cold, stretching and control groups of 15 each. Pre-test and post-test measurements were made immediately after the application. Knee proprioception was measured with a digital goniometer using the EPD (joint position sense) test. Vertical jump heights were measured with contact mat by countermovement (CMJ) and squat splash (SQS) tests.

Hemodynamic Effects of Steep Trendelenburg Position and Pneumoperitoneum

BACKGROUND: The steep Trendelenburg position and pneumoperitoneum are used to improve surgical visibility in robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALRP). However, these procedures can lead to hemodynamic changes. This study aimed to investigate the effects of these interventions on the perfusion index (PI) and the Pleth variability index (PVI) in patients undergoing RALRP under general anesthesia. METHODS: Fifty-three patients scheduled for RALRP underwent standard monitoring; PI and PVI values were monitored using a finger probe. PI, PVI, hemodynamic and respiratory parameters, and intraabdominal pressure were recorded before and after anesthesia induction, after adopting the Trendelenburg position, after pneumoperitoneum, after pneumoperitoneum and the Trendelenburg position, at 15 min, 30 min, in the supine position, after carbon dioxide (CO2) desufflation, and after extubation.

Joint hypermobility is the condition that the joints have a greater range of motion than normal and can be observed frequently in children. In children with joint hypermobility, motor problems, tactile and proprioceptive sensory disorders can be observed. It is very important to support children with joint hypermobility with intervention programs that are rich in both motor and sensory aspects. The aim of this project is to create an exercise protocol rich in tactile, proprioceptive senses for children with joint hypermobility and to examine the effects of using textured insoles in addition to exercise on tactile sense, balance, foot load distribution and quality of life in children.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of balcinrenone/dapagliflozin compared with dapagliflozin alone on patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and albuminuria. This study will evaluate the effect of the balcinrenone/dapagliflozin on urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR), compared with dapagliflozin in patients with CKD. This is a dose-finding study aiming to identify an optimal dose of balcinrenone/dapagliflozin for a future Phase III study in patients with CKD.

Comparison of the Efficacy of Transcutaneos Nerve Stimulations in Women With Idiopathic Overactive Bladder

Our study is the first prospective randomized controlled trial that compares the effectiveness of transcutaneous medial plantar nerve stimulation (T-MPNS) and transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS) added to bladder training (BT) in women with idiopathic overactive bladder (OAB). İn this study, we aimed to assess the efficacy of T-MPNS and TTNS added to BT on quality of life (QoL) and clinical parameters asssociated with idiopathic OAB. In addition, preparation time for stimulation, treatment satisfaction and discomfort levels of the patients were evaluated. The main questions we aim to answer are: Is T-MPNS as effective as TTNS in the treatment of idiopathic OAB? For this purpose, we planned to compare transcutaneous applications of the tibial and plantar medial nerve in women with idiopathic OAB. 60 women with OAB will be randomized to 3 groups by using random number generator: BT program alone to Group 1 (n=20), BT plus T-MPNS to Group 2 (n=20), BT plus TTNS to Group 3 (n=20) will be applied.

The Effect of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Training Before Mastectomy on Postoperative Pain in Early Period

This research aims to investigate the effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction training given before mastectomy on postoperative early period pain and the fear of movement caused by pain. According to the World Health Organization, 18.1 million new cancer diagnoses are made each year, with breast cancer being the most common type among women, accounting for 24.2% of all cancers diagnosed. In Turkey, the incidence of breast cancer was determined as 22,345 in 2018. Breast cancer significantly affects women's quality and length of life. Surgical intervention is the most commonly chosen treatment method for cases of localized breast cancer. Pain and limited movement are among the most common problems encountered after surgery. Non-pharmacological methods have been shown to be effective in pain management, with the mindfulness-based stress reduction technique being one of these methods. This technique is described as an effective treatment for conditions such as pain, depression, and addiction, with high levels of mindfulness being associated with greater self-esteem, optimism, and empathy, whereas low levels of mindfulness are linked to depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and acute pain.
