There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Despite prophylactic measures, hypotension remains a common side-effect of spinal anesthesia. Electroacupuncture influences hemodynamics. We hypothesized that transcutaneous electrical acupuncture point stimulation (TEAS) at traditionally used acupuncture points would reduce the severity of hypotension after spinal anesthesia in geriatric patients undergoing hernia surgery.
Nutrition is essential in the treatment and management of Type 2 Diabetes. The importance of adding foods with anti-inflammatory effects to daily diet plans in ensuring glycemic control, preventing the progression of diabetes, and reducing the risk of complications in the future is revealed by new studies added to the literature every day. This study aimed to determine the effects of the dietary inflammatory index (DII) on inflammation markers and metabolic parameters by determining the food consumption status of adults with type 2 diabetes who have good glycemic control.
In our study, it was aimed to evaluate respiratory functions and respiratory muscle strength in patients diagnosed with temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) and to compare them with healthy individuals. The study was conducted with a total of 46 participants, 23 of whom were diagnosed with TMD and 23 healthy individuals, at Batman Training and Research Hospital between August 2021 and December 2021. In the evaluation, the demographic information and clinical findings of the participants were recorded. Mandible movements were evaluated with a digital caliper. For TMJ, the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) was used to measure the severity of pain at rest and during activity. Cervical lordosis and shoulder posture assessment was done by distance measurement. Fonseca Anamnestic Index was used for TMD severity classification. Spirometric measurement was performed to evaluate respiratory functions of all participants and intraoral pressure measurement was performed to determine respiratory muscle strength. Statistical analyzes were performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 program. Significance level was accepted as p<0.05.
Literature shows different pathologies or combination pathologies can cause gluteal region pain and it can be difficult to diagnose. Piriformis syndrome is one of the cause of gluteal region pain, symptoms of myofascial pain syndrome affected gluteus maximus muscle may masquerade as piriformis muscle syndrome or both syndrome can be seen together. The aim of this study is diagnosis myofascial pain syndrome of gluteus maximus muscle and piriformis syndrome by physical examination, special clinical tests and ultrasound guided diagnostic injection test in patients presenting with gluteal pain and evaluate the coexistence of both syndromes.
It is important to evaluate the vaccine-related metabolic changes on FDG PET/CT to avoid confusing results. The investigators aimed to assess the frequency and intensity of regional and systemic metabolic PET/CT changes of patients who received the mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine (BNT162b2-Pfizer/BioNTech) and to analyze possible factors affecting these changes.
The aim of this study was to treat the areas with Miller Class I bilateral multiple gingival recession in the maxillary teeth using the Titanium Platelet-Rich Fibrin (T-PRF), an autogenous biomaterial applied in combination with a Modified Coronally Positioned Flap (MCPF) prepared using microsurgical techniques, and the gold standard Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft (SCTG), to evaluate the efficacy of the treatments and to compare the clinical results 6 months after the treatment.
The aim of this study to investigate the effects of connective tissue massage (CTM) on pain, intestinal peristaltism and functionality after total laparoscopic (TLH) or abdominal hysterectomy (TAH). Patients who underwent TLH randomly group as TLH-CTM (n=15) and TLH control (n=16), and TAH randomly group as TAH-CTM (n=14) and TAH control (n=15). The postoperative daily monitoring sheet, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), time of intestinal peristaltism employees to collect research data.
Objective of the trial is to describe the efficacy and safety of satralizumab in patients with aquaporin-4 (AQP4) antibody seropositive NMOSD, either treatment naive or inadequate responders to previous treatment with rituximab (RTX) (or its biosimilar)
The H-reflex is one of the most popular topics in reflexology and one of the late responses involved in routine nerve conduction studies in the electromyography (EMG) laboratory. The H-reflex is generally recorded from the gastrocnemius-soleus muscles (tibial H-reflex) by stimulating the tibial nerve in the lower extremity. Tibial H-reflex is a sensitive measurement for examining S1 radiculopathy. Although there are plenty of studies related to the Soleus muscle registered H-reflex in S1 radiculopathy in the literature, there is no study in which the H-reflex is used in L5 muscles in diagnosing L5 radiculopathies. The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of the H-reflex by using a different method in the distinction between L5 and S1 radiculopathies.
The aim of this study is to measure the effects of sympathetic blockade caused by peripheral nerve blocks performed with the axillary, infraclavicular and interscalene approach on tissue oxygenation with Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS), to evaluate and compare the radial artery flow velocity and diameter in the blocked extremity, and to investigate whether there is a relationship with the quality of the sensory and motor block.
