The Effect of Virtual Reality on Psychological Parameters in Patients Receiving Chemotherapy

Start date: May 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

It has been determined that after mastectomy, women have psychological problems such as deterioration of body image, fear of losing their feminine characteristics and sexual dysfunction. Experiencing intense stress during this treatment process can lead to severe mental problems, which negatively affects the course of the disease and the response to treatment. Chemotherapy is a painful procedure. Pain and stress are symptoms that affect each other positively. Virtual reality glasses, which is one of the distraction methods used in the control of symptoms; It is widely used in clinical medical care to relieve symptoms by offering the possibility to create therapeutic environments in the evaluation and treatment of medical conditions. By affecting the emotional, cognitive, behavioral and sociocultural dimensions of the individual, it increases the sense of control, activity level and work capacity, reduces stress, pain, anxiety level, feeling of powerlessness and side effects of pharmacological methods.

NCT ID: NCT05475197 Completed - Clinical trials for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Evaluation of the Acute Effect of Kinesio Taping by Ultrasonography

Start date: November 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The design of our study is a randomized, controlled, double-blind study. It is planned to be completed in twenty-four weeks with 34 participants. The main purpose of this study is to examine and compare the acute effects of two different kinesio tape applications on the carpal tunnel in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome by ultrasonographic method.

NCT ID: NCT05474976 Completed - Clinical trials for Gluten-Free Diet in the Covid-19 Process

Compliance With Gluten-Free Diet and Affecting Factors in Adolescents With Celiac Disease

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Celiac is a chronic autoimmune disease that is treated with a gluten-free diet. Adolescents with celiac disease were affected differently by the restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this study was to determine the compliance with a gluten-free diet during in adolescents with celiac disease during the Covid-19 pandemic and identify the associated factors. The sample of this study consisted of 85 adolescents in the 10-19 age group diagnosed with celiac disease. Research data were collected by online questionnaires (Google Forms) between January and April 2022. Sociodemographic and disease-related data of adolescents who were compliant and those who were non-compliant with a gluten-free diet during the COVID-19 pandemic were compared.

NCT ID: NCT05474833 Recruiting - Infertility Clinical Trials

Assesment of Embryo Viability and Re-expansion After Thawing in Blastocyst Stage Embryos

Start date: March 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In this prospective study, the possible effects of embryo viability and degree of blastocele re-expansion on pregnancy outcomes before vitrified/thawed blastocyst transfer will be evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT05474820 Completed - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

Saliva Irisin Level is Higher and Related With Interleukin 6 in Generalized Periodontitis

Start date: February 24, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Irisin is novel adipomyokine known as a mediator of physical activity that produced mainly by skeletal muscle and adipose tissues. It is cleaved from the fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 (FDNC5), which is, in turn, induced by peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-ɣ co-activator 1-α (PGC-1α). Several studies reported that irisin is related with pathogenesis of many diseases which are known to be associated with periodontal disease such as obesity, diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and metabolic bone diseases. There are several studies those have reported that increased IL-6 levels are associated with progression and severity of periodontitis . Recently, it has been shown that irisin is expressed in human periodontal ligament cells (hPDL), dental pulp stem cells and osteoblasts. Also, a few studies revealed that irisin promotes growth, migration and matrix formation in hPDL cells and cementoblast differentiation. To the best our knowledge, there 's one study has been reported that the higher levels of irisin in saliva in patient with chronic periodontitis

NCT ID: NCT05474703 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding

Evaluation of the Effects of Levonorgestrel-releasing Intrauterine Device and Dydrogestreone on Quality of Life and Sexual Life in Patients With Abnormal Uterine Bleeding.

Start date: February 20, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This study was retrospectively collected from patients who were diagnosed with abnormal uterine bleeding and received oral dydrogesterone therapy for at least six months or who were administered an intrauterine device containing levonorgestrel at least six months ago, and prospectively Short form 36 (P-36); It covers the comparison of the Quality of Life Scale and the Female Sexual Function Scale (FSFI) by asking over the phone.

NCT ID: NCT05474625 Completed - Clinical trials for Cervical Disc Herniation

Efficacy of High-intensity Laser Therapy (HILT) in the Patients With Cervical Disc Herniation

Start date: August 30, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The worldwide prevalence of neck pain is between 16.7-75.1%, it has been seen at an increasing rate in recent years due to sedentary living conditions. Pharmacological treatment, neck collar, traction, manual therapy, interventional injection techniques, surgical treatment and conventional physical therapy methods such as hotpack, ultrasound, TENS (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), vacuum interference, exercise are applied in the treatment of neck pain. In recent years, High Intensity Laser Therapy (HILT) has been used as a painless and non-invasive physical therapy agent. It received FDA approval in 2002 for HILT in the treatment of variety of musculoskeletal disorders. There are a few studies in the literature investigating the efficacy of HILT in chronic neck pain. There is only one study investigating the efficacy of HILT in cervical disc herniation. In this study, the efficacy of HILT and ultrasound-TENS in the treatment of neck pain caused by cervical disc herniation has been compared, but the results of the exercise control group and long-term follow-up were not available. The aim of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the short and long-term efficacy of HILT treatment using improvement in the pain, range of motion, activities of daily living and functionality of the cervical spine in patients with cervical disc herniation. In group 1, only exercises will be applied; in the group 2, HILT will be applied in addition to exercise; in the group 3, hotpack, TENS, ultrasound will be applied in addition to exercises.

NCT ID: NCT05474521 Completed - Sensitivity Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Illinois Agility Performance With Smartphone Applications: A Validity and Reliability Study

Start date: March 10, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Due to the impracticality of accessing the gold standard test devices, researchers have developed easy-to-use and cost-effective smartphone applications that do not require expert knowledge, and these applications have been used to measure different motor abilities. Smartphone applications such as CODtimer, Stopwatch Movie watch, and Seconds Count are used to evaluate the ability to change direction within these biomotor features. However, the validity and reliability of these applications are the subjects of research.
