There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The importance of effective postoperative pain management is well known. Overall, for total abdominal hysterectomy operations are related with severe postoperative pain. The undesired effects of pain can be prevented with multimodal analgesia for the patient. Many regional anesthesia techniques can be preferred for total abdominal hysterectomy. The aim of this study is to investigate postoperative analgesia effect of erector spina plane block for total abdominal hysterectomy.
It is aimed to measure knee hyperextension and knee joint cartilage thickness in chronic stroke patients and to examine the relationship between the factors affecting knee hyperextension and knee joint cartilage thickness. This study, it is aimed to compare the knee joint cartilage thicknesses of the affected and unaffected extremities and to examine the relationship between knee hyperextension and knee joint cartilage thickness. The second aim is to compare the knee joint cartilage thickness of the paretic and nonparetic extremities and in stroke patients with and without knee hyperextension. The hypotheses of the study are: Hypothesis 1; H0: There is no difference between the knee joint cartilage thickness of the affected and unaffected extremities in chronic stroke patients with knee hyperextension. H1: In chronic stroke patients with knee hyperextension, there is a difference between the knee joint cartilage thicknesses of the affected and unaffected extremities. Hypothesis 2; H0: There is no relationship between knee hyperextension during the stance phase of gait and knee joint cartilage thickness in chronic stroke patients. H1: There is a relationship between knee hyperextension during the stance phase of gait and knee joint cartilage thickness in chronic stroke patients. Hypothesis 3; H0: There is no relationship between lower extremity muscle strength and spasticity and knee joint cartilage thickness in chronic stroke patients with knee hyperextension. Menopause is characterized by major physiological and concomitant psychological changes. The study aimed to evaluate the association between oral health parameters, bone mineral density (BMD) and physiological or psychological symptoms in post-menopausal women (PMW), compared with regularly menstruating women (RMW). Inflammatory biomarker levels in gingival crevicular fluid, saliva, serum and determination of microbial niches in subgingival plaque samples were further aimed. The participants were asked to complete the Women's Health Questionnaire to measure emotional and physical well-being. A total of 148 women (PMW, n=76,RMW, n=72) received a comprehensive medical assessment and a full-mouth oral examination. The corresponding bone mineral density (BMD) and body mass indices (BMI) were obtained from their medical records.
Chronic urticaria is a condition that impairs the patient's quality of life, interferes with routine daily activities, and is often associated with anxiety. It constitutes a significant burden associated with psychiatric comorbidities such as Fundamentals of Positive Psychotherapy (PPT) The aim is to help the individual to develop his/her core capacities and in his/her daily life in four areas of life (body, success, relationships and the future) to help them achieve balance. In patients with chronic urticaria, especially problems with the body occur and this can affect other areas of life. Literature When examined, it is seen that psychological interventions in chronic urticaria are very few and in ancient times. In addition, it is recommended that psychological interventions based on conversation should be performed with these patients. PPT, conversational and balancing the dimensions of "body, achievement, relationships and future" It is a working approach. Body and future in the disease process of chronic urticaria patients Considering that there is a balance change in the dimensions of the PPT, it will contribute to the literature. is considered. Intervention Group Positive psychotherapy counseling sessions, specialist psychiatry who completed positive psychotherapy training will be done by the nurse. Contact information of the volunteers will be obtained at the outpatient clinic and individuals will be randomized. will be divided into intervention and control groups. The first one face-to-face with each individual in the intervention group. A total of 8 sessions will be held, the others being online. Individuals who agreed to participate in the study were first Introductory Information Form, Continuity Anxiety Scale, face-to-face during the interview, Dermatological Quality of Life Scale, Urticaria Activity Score will be applied. Audio and video with volunteers Other sessions will be completed through a program that allows sharing (WhatsAap, zoom etc.). Each session will be applied once a week, lasting 45-50 minutes. Interviews with individuals No audio or video recording will be taken during the recording. This information was given to the volunteers included in the intervention group. will be announced before the meeting begins. After the eight-week counseling program 3 months later (pretest-posttest when including the 8-week program to be applied after the pretest) There will be a total of 5 months between Project Title Positive Psychotherapy Based Counseling (PPT) Diagnosed with Chronic Urticaria Anxiety Levels of Patients and Its Effect on Quality of Life Project Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Nuray SIMSEK Researcher(s) Res. See. Eda Albayrak Project Type Ph.D. Thesis Project Project Group ( ) Science and Engineering Sciences ( X) Medicine and Health Sciences ( ) Social Sciences Writing fields can be extended as needed Quality Scale, Urticaria Activity Score will be applied. Control Group Individuals in the control group agreed to participate in the study after being explained about the research. Verbal and written consent will be obtained from individuals who do so. Initial interview with individuals who agreed to participate in the study Introductory Information Form, Trait Anxiety Scale, Dermatological Quality of Life Scale, Urticaria Activity Score will be applied. Patients in this group are routinely chronically ill. No application will be made other than the treatment of urticaria. 5 months after the pre-test Trait State Anxiety Scale, Dermatological Quality of Life Scale, Urticaria Activity Score will be applied. After the study is completed, individuals in the control group can also request it. counseling will be provided.
The purpose of this extension study is to collect long-term efficacy, safety and tolerability data on remibrutinib in a selected group of participants with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) who previously completed the treatment phase of remibrutinib preceding Phase 3 studies. This study will also fulfill the Novartis commitment to provide post-trial access to participants who have completed the preceding Phase 3 studies, where applicable.
The Self-perceived Barriers for Physical Activity Questionnaire (SBPAQ) is originally developed in Spanish to evaluate self-perceived barriers for physical activity participation in healthy individuals. The purpose of this study is to translate and cross-culturally adapt the SBPAQ into Turkish and investigate its psychometric properties.
Pulmonary Embolism(PE) requires multidisciplinary approach as a highly morbid and mortal disease. This multidisciplinary approach creates clinical benefits in diagnostic and therapeutic process. And these benefits are pointed out in certain studies and guidelines. For these reasons, a Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) was established on 5 th November 2018 which is called as Ege Pulmonary Embolism Team (EGEPET) in our university. In recent years, it is stated that the carefully use of thrombolytic in patients with intermediate-high risk PE based on early mortality classification. Some studies have reported that the use of thrombolytic may cause clinical benefits. But which used drug and which dose are not defined clearly yet. After establishment of EGEPET, the investigators observed that patients with intermediate-high risk PE more receive reduced dose thrombolytic than the pre-EGEPET period. And the investigators aimed to compare treatment changes after and before the establishment of EGEPET. Also, the investigator will compare initial reduced dose thrombolytic therapy after EGEPET with initial anticoagulation therapy before EGEPET (historical group) in terms of mortality and complication. As the reduced dose thrombolytic, Alteplase 50 mg is used in our hospital. Low-molecular weight heparin (LMWH), standard heparin and rarely Fondaparinux are used for anticoagulation therapy. Low-molecular weight heparin is generally applied for treatment, in case there is no contraindication. Our primary end-point is to assess 30-day mortality and secondary-end points are to detect in one year-mortality and complications. The investigators will compare the mortality and complication rates in these groups. N0 hypothesis; In the intermediate-high risk group diagnosed with PE, there is an increased mortality rate in the patients treated with half-dose thrombolytic (Alteplase 50 mg) than our historical group or the literature. N1 hypothesis; In the intermediate-high risk group diagnosed with PE, there is no an increased mortality rate in the patients treated with half-dose thrombolytic (Alteplase 50 mg) than our historical group or the literature.
The effect of body composition on the survival rate is one of the research topics of interest in cancer patients and gaining attention in the last years. Body mass index is often used a proxy measure of total adiposity and previous studies examining the relationship between BMI and cancer outcomes have been showed distinct results . Obese patients with malignancies such as colorectal, breast, and pancreatic cancers, have been shown to have a worse prognosis than normal-weight patients . Nevertheless, obese patients with non small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) have been observed to have a better clinical outcome than normal/low-weight cancer patients . In this study, we examined the effects of subcutaneous adipose tissue, visceral adipose tissue and skeletal muscle volumes on survival in metastatic NSCLC patients under different treatment regimens. Since there is no standard method for adipose tissue measurement, we evaluated the abdominal cavity with multi-slice and single-slice computed tomography measurements.
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between pain, and balance, proprioception sensation in the knee, erector spinae and multifidus muscle strength in individuals with non-specific low back pain.
This study aimed to determine the effect of progressive relaxation exercises and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation administered to women delivering via cesarean section on acute pain, breastfeeding behavior, and comfort levels. Single-Blind, Randomized Controlled Study. This study was carried out in the obstetrics and gynecology clinic of a university hospital affiliated with the Ministry of Health in Turkey between August 20, 2018 and April 15, 2019. A total of 120 participants were randomly assigned to one of four groups, which included a transcutaneous electrical neural stimulation (TENS) group, a progressive relaxation exercises (PRE) group, a combined intervention (TENS+PRE) group, and a control group. Data were collected with a data collection form, the visual analogue scale (VAS), the LATCH breastfeeding diagnostic tool (LATCH), and the postpartum comfort scale (PCS). In the analysis of the data, numbers, percentages, and chi-square tests were used. Also, median values, Wilcoxon Signed-rank test, and Kruskal-Wallis H test were employed for continuous variables.
