NCT ID: NCT05867082 Completed - Neck Pain Clinical Trials

Effects of Neural Mobilization on Respiratory Parameters in Chronic Neck Pain

Start date: April 30, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Objective: Neural mobilization (NM) is commonly used to treat nerve disorders, and it is useful for disorders associated with neck and arm pain. This study aimed to determine the effects of NM on respiratory function in patients with chronic neck pain. Methods: Overall, 26 patients with neck pain were randomly assigned to two groups: NM or control. In these participants, respiratory function and active cervical range of motion were assessed before and after intervention. Furthermore, the participants were provided a visual analog scale (VAS) and Fremantle Neck Awareness Questionnaire (FreNAQ). Each participant underwent 15 treatment sessions (5 days per week for 3 weeks). Further, in the NM group, in addition to conventional treatment, 10 sessions of neural mobilization were performed.

NCT ID: NCT05866588 Recruiting - Primiparous Women Clinical Trials

The Effect of Nursing Care on Maternal Role Performance and Parental Self-Efficacy of Primiparous Women

Start date: August 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Being a mother is a major and developmental life event involving the transition from an existing and known reality to a new unknown reality, in which the woman gains a new role. In the literature, factors such as age, social support, physical and psychosocial well-being, unrealistic positive or negative expectations, and readiness for the role of mother have been stated that affect maternal identity development, maternal self-efficacy and motherhood role performance. In addition, it has been emphasized that some women are especially at risk in this process. Primiparous (first time giving birth) women are among the groups at risk. Being a first-time mother is an important developmental transition in life, and change is an inevitable element of this process. A prompt and sensitive assessment of my antenatal and postnatal needs and appropriate planning of care are key to effectively supporting women in the transition to motherhood. Therefore, it is thought that individualized nursing care based on Transition theory will be a useful conceptual framework for primary women to realize a healthy transition to motherhood. No research has been found in the literature that evaluates the maternal role performance and parental self-efficacy of primiparous women based on a theory. In this direction, it is thought that this study will shed light on the planning of nursing care to be offered during the transition to motherhood, contribute to the nursing literature, women can make a healthy transition to the role of motherhood, and the risks such as unhealthy transition, role inadequacy, adverse effects on mother and baby health will be minimized. The aim of this study is to determine the Effect of Nursing Care Based on Meleis' Transition Theory on the Maternal Role Performance and Parental Self-Efficacy of Primiparous Women.

NCT ID: NCT05866549 Completed - Pregnancy Related Clinical Trials

The Effect of The Mindfulness-based Childbirth and Parenting Program

Start date: May 22, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of Mindfulness-based childbirth and parenting program on prenatal attachment and depression, stress and anxiety levels of pregnants. The study will be carried out in two different groups. After the pregnants are evaluated in terms of eligibility criteria for the research, the pregnants who are eligible will be informed about the research and written informed consent will be obtained from the pregnants who accept. The random distribution of pregnants to the study groups will be carried out random. The following applications will be made to the groups.

NCT ID: NCT05866497 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Arterial Stiffness in Type 2 Diabetic Patients With Severe Periodontitis

Start date: June 10, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Studies were found that a significant relationship between the severe periodontitis and increased CAVI values. While the exact mechanisms linking periodontitis, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are not yet fully understood, it is clear that these diseases are interconnected. There are limited data in the literature evaluating the risk of atherosclerosis in diabetic individuals with periodontal disease. In our survey, we hypothesised that severe periodontitis may be a risk factor for the development of subclinical atherosclerosis among people with type 2 diabetes. Thus, we aimed to investigate the potential risk of subclinical atherosclerosis by using a new surrogate marker CAVI in severe periodontitis patients with short-term diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT05866263 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Investigation of the Effect on Cognitive Skills of COVID-19 Survivors

Cognitive
Start date: March 23, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Investigation of the Effect Of Green Walking and Intelligence Games on the Cognitive Skills of Individuals Between the Ages of 50-70 Survived COVID-19 Disease The randomized controlled study to examine the effects of green walking and intelligence games on the cognitive skills of individuals aged 50-70 years who had COVID-19 on an outpatient basis were completed with 40 individuals, 20 of which were in the green walking and intelligence game group and 20 were in the control group.

NCT ID: NCT05866159 Completed - Low Back Pain Clinical Trials

Effects of Kinesio Tape on Chronic Low Back Pain

Start date: May 29, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial aims to examine kinesiotape's (KT) short-term effect on individuals with nonspecific chronic LBP (CLBP), including back-specific body perception, pain, functional disability, and physical activity. The hypothesis is that applying KT to the lumbar spine would improve back-specific body perception, reduce pain and functional disability, and increase physical activity in individuals with CLBP compared to the sham-taping group.

NCT ID: NCT05865522 Recruiting - Massage Therapy Clinical Trials

Massage of the Trapezius Muscle and Foot in Fibromyalgia Patients

Start date: May 18, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Objective: This study will be conducted to evaluate the effects of classical massage applied to the trapezius muscle and foot in patients with fibromyalgia on pain, effects of fibromyalgia and quality of life. Material and Method: The research will be carried out with 75 patients with fibromyalgia who refer to Artvin State Hospital Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation outpatient clinic. The patients will be grouped in 3 through simple randomization: trapezius massage (Group A), foot massage (Group B) and control group (Group C). In the physical therapy unit, the patients in Group A will receive a total of 12 sessions of trapezius massage, 2 sessions per week for 6 weeks; the patients in Group B will receive a total of 12 sessions of foot massage, 2 sessions per week for 6 weeks and Group C will not receive massage. Patient information form, VAS pain scale, Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire and SF 36 Quality of Life Scale will be used to collect data. Chi-square paired t test, Wilcoxon test, one-way analysis of variance and Kruskal Wallis test will be used in the analysis of data.

NCT ID: NCT05865509 Completed - Stress Response Clinical Trials

Comparison of the Escape Room and Storytelling Methods in Learning the Stress Response

Start date: December 13, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomised controlled study is to evaluate the effects of storytelling and escape room methods on the level of learning about stress response of nursing students and students' opinions about these methods. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is there a difference between the pretest-posttest scores of the students who received training on stress response with the escape room method? - Is there a difference between the pretest-posttest scores of the students who were trained on the stress response with the storytelling method? - Is the difference between the knowledge levels of the students who received stress response training with the escape room and storytelling methods statistically significant? The students, who received training on stressors, stress response and the long-term effects of stress through lecture, were divided into two groups four weeks after this training and were retrained on the same subject with escape room and storytelling methods. Before and after the Escape room and storytelling practices, the students' knowledge of the stress response was evaluated. After both applications, focus group discussions were held with the students and their opinions and feedbacks on the applications were evaluated.
