The Relationship Between Upper Extremity Explosive Power and Trunk Muscles in Volleyball Players

Volleyball is an interval sport involving consecutive aerobic and anaerobic loads. Strength training based on explosive movements can improve performance in the upper extremities. Strength performance has an important place in this sport. Trunk stabilization is defined as 'proximal stability for distal mobility'. Disorder in any segment of the kinetic chain model will affect the quality of movement in the lower and upper segments.The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the morphological features of the transversus abdominis, lumbal multifidus (L4-5), internal external oblique muscles, and the anaerobic power of the upper extremity and shoulder girdle functionThis study was designed as a cross-sectional. They will consist of 30 volleyball players between 14-30 years of age. Muscle morphological features of the participants by ultrasound; explosive strength will be evaluated by Medicine Ball Throw test, functional evaluation will be evaluated by Closed Kinetic Chain Upper Extremity Endurance test.

The Effect of Parent Mediated Intervention Program on Children With ASD Exposed to Earthquake in Turkey in February 2023

After devastating natural events such as earthquakes, individuals with special needs experience much more difficulties. There is a limited number of studies investigating the impact of disasters on individuals with autism. Studies show that resilience and recovery of pre-disaster functioning in young people with autism largely depends on their immediate inclusion in routine, intensive rehabilitation programs and the stabilization of daily life routines as much as possible. Children with autism had to interrupt their education due to many reasons such as the destruction of special education centers due to the earthquake and the temporary or permanent relocation of families to different cities. The fact that individuals with autism stayed away from education after the earthquake caused parents' stress and anxiety levels to increase. Parent involvement, a standard intervention practice in ASD, shows that teaching intervention strategies to parents can improve children's outcomes and increase parental effectiveness. Researchers aim in this study is to investigate the effect of the online group-based parent-mediated intervention program on autism symptoms, the effect on behavioral problems and the effect on parental mental health of children with autism spectrum disorder whose education life was interrupted 8 months after the earthquake, who had major changes in their lives (such as loss of relatives, loss of health, work, home, anxiety, having to change cities ...). Online group-based intervention program ist designed to improve the interaction, play, speech and learning skills of children with autism symptoms, taking into account the earthquake conditions.

The Effect of Nursing Interventions Based on Conservation Motivation Theory on Drug Adherence and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors in Patients With Hypertension: A Randomized Controlled Study

Although hypertension is an important cause of premature death, it can increase the risk of heart, brain, kidney and other diseases. Worldwide, 1 in 4 men and 1 in 5 women (over a billion people) have this condition (https://www.who.int/health-topics/hypertension#tab=tab_1 4 July 2022). The prevalence of hypertension in Turkey was determined as 32.3% in women, 28.4% in men and 30.3% in general, according to the Turkish Hypertension Prevalence (PatenT2) study (Sengul et al. 2016). Although the exact cause of hypertension is not clear, age, family history, eating habits, smoking-alcohol intake, weight and physical activity level have a strong influence on blood pressure. Hypertension management is normally easy through regular use of antihypertensive drugs and adherence to lifestyle interventions (https://world-heart-federation.org/what-we-do/hypertension/ 4 July 2022). As a matter of fact, it is stated in the World Health Organization (WHO) hypertension guideline that healthy lifestyle behaviors should be considered together with antihypertensive drugs (WHO 2021). The recommended healthy lifestyle behaviors for the prevention and control of hypertension are reducing salt consumption, high potassium intake, healthy diet, fighting obesity, regular physical activity and reducing cigarette-alcohol consumption (Mills et al. 2020). Despite the availability and high prevalence of treatment for hypertension, less than 1 in 5 people worldwide have it under control (https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/hypertension 4 July 2022). In Turkey, an estimated 49.1% of adults with hypertension are unaware that they have this condition. However, less than half (46.2%) of adults with hypertension are treated and approximately 1 in 5 adults (23.9%) have it under control(https://www.who.int/publications/m/item/hypertension-tur-country-profile-turkey-2020 4 July 2022) . Although the nutritional, behavioral, and environmental causes of hypertension are well established, little is known about what actions and interventions are responsible for the low rates of awareness, treatment, and control (Zhou et al. 2021). Therefore, the development of new approaches to improve the prevention, management and control of hypertension has come to the fore(Özpulat 2017; Karmakar et al. 2018). The Turkish Hypertension Consensus report recommended that "tele-medicine" applications should be started to be used for blood pressure control and drug compliance with the advancing technology (https://fka.gov.tr/kalkinma-planlari-detayi-1564726568912 17 August 2022). Hypertension management guideline published by the Japanese Hypertension Society (JSH)-2019 explains that digital hypertension management can be facilitated using health information technology (Kario 2019). According to the International Council of Nurses (ICN), team-based care (especially virtual care) empowered through technology can respond to the change sought in healthcare delivery (ICN 2021). Likewise, WHO stated that using mobile health technologies creates important opportunities to reduce premature deaths from non-communicable diseases (WHO 2018). Mobile health technology mainly focuses on the use of mass media such as mobile phone-based or connected interventions (Gandapur et al. 2016; Karmakar et al. 2018). The near ubiquity, mobility, and direct and instantaneous nature of mobile phones and other mobile devices have enormous potential to impact healthcare delivery and health outcomes (White et al. 2016; Morawski et al. 2017; Gong et al. 2020). In the meta-analysis, it was seen that mobile health applications have a beneficial effect in health interventions to create behavior change (Iribarren et al. 2021). Another meta-analysis showed that messages given in behavior change interventions, including reducing salt intake in food, increasing physical activity, quitting smoking, increasing consumption of low-fat diet and fruit and vegetables, resulted in a significant reduction in blood pressure, in particular (Saif-Ur-Rahman et al. 2019). In our study, the Protection Motivation Theory (KMT) will be used together with the use of mobile phones in creating behavior change. KMT is a common framework describing the use of protective behaviors and can be applied to interventions designed to change behavior (Rogers 1983). In this context, this study aims to evaluate the effects of nursing interventions including mobile phone use and patient education based on CMT on drug compliance and healthy lifestyle behaviors in hypertensive patients.

The Effects of Virtual Reality Education on Balance, Depression, Anxiety and Stress Parameters

If we examine the demographic data of the 2021 reports of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), we can see that the young population between the ages of 15 and 24 is 12,971,289 people, which is 15.3% of the total population. Considering the proportion of young population in our country, the evaluation of physical activity level has an important place, while the proportion of female university students who achieved sufficient physical activity level according to the scoring of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (UFAA) was 8.5%, while the proportion of male students was 28.1% in previous studies (Arslan 2015). ). We know from previous studies that achieving an adequate level of physical activity directly reduces the body mass index and indirectly reduces the cardiovascular risk associated with obesity (Swift 2018). Exercise reduces depression levels and the effects of depression. Although the neural mechanisms are not very clear, there are some predictions for physical exercise to reduce the level of depression (Gujral 2017). The hippocampus is an important cognitive and sensory centre, and it has been reported that hippocampal volume decreases by 5% in depressed individuals (Cole 2011). Hippocampal volume has been reported to increase rapidly with exercise (Bugg 2012). The brain region most affected in major depressive disorder is the prefrontal cortex. After the prefrontal cortex is affected, symptoms such as negative affect and learned helplessness appear (Pizagalli 2021). Experimental studies in mice have shown that treadmill training creates new synaptic pathways in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus (Mu 2022). Another brain region affected by depression is the corpus striatum. Loss of corpus striatum volume is observed in patients with major depression (Zhang 2020). The volume of the corpus striatum modulates when physical exercise reaches a sufficient level. (Rotttensteiner 2015). Adequate levels of physical activity not only reduce depression, but also prevent neural dysfunction that can occur as a result of depression. However, young people do not get enough exercise. Based on this fact, we believe that it is necessary to use 3D virtual reality applications to increase physical activity levels and exercise motivation. The aim of our study is to investigate the effect of virtual reality training on balance, depression, anxiety and stress parameters in healthy young people.

Effectiveness of a Childbirth and Parenthood Preparation Education in Primigravidas

To investigate the effect of the Childbirth and Parenthood Preparation Education on Maternal Health Needs, Pregnancy-Related Anxiety and Fetal Health Anxiety in Primigravidas. A total of 148 pregnant women are planned to be included in the study. Data will be collected with the 'Pregnant Identification Form', 'Maternal Health Needs Scale', 'Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Scale-Revision 2' and 'Fetal Health Anxiety Inventory. The "Childbirth and Parenthood Preparation Education" program will be applied to the experimental group for a period of four weeks (a month (each week, once a week in total four sessions)). It is thought that the results of the research will contribute to the welfare of pregnant women by reducing maternal health needs, pregnancy-related anxiety and fetal health anxiety levels.
