Digitally Assisted Behavioral Physical Activity Intervention in Fibromyalgia

Digital health interventions have the potential to address physical inactivity as they are accessible to a large part of the population and can be delivered with high efficiency at a low cost. By enabling patient education, support for self-management, motivation, follow-up, feedback and communication, it can prevent, cure or treat many chronic conditions. These features can increase patient motivation and encourage compliance with home exercises and physical activity . Digital behavior change interventions use digital technologies (such as websites, mobile apps, Short Message Service or wearable devices) to promote and maintain health and have the potential to overcome many barriers compared to in-person programs by providing cost-effective, effective, and accessible information. No study has been found in Turkey examining digital interventions or walking programs that include behavior change techniques to increase physical activity in patients with fibromyalgia syndrome. Considering environmental, cultural and economic factors in this patient group in our society, the investigators think that walking, which the investigators think is the most appropriate physical activity method in terms of cost, accessibility and equipment, should be a permanent behavior. The use of technology to increase physical activity in the era of digitalization is important in terms of addressing the increasing inactivity during the Covid19 pandemic period. The aim of this study is to estimate the effect of digital assisted physical activity intervention combined with patient education compared to patient education alone on physical activity level, functional capacity, quality of life, sleep quality, pain, fatigue, and perspective on exercise of adults with Fibromyalgia Syndrome.

Influence of Mandibular Nerve Lateralization on Nutrition and Speech

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of lip numbness on the nutritional status and speech of patients who underwent inferior nerve lateralization for dental implant placement in the mandibular posterior region. For this purpose, observational follow-up of two groups of patients will be performed. The control group will include patients with standard implant placement in the mandibular posterior region. The test group will consist of patients with implant placement in the mandibular posterior region with inferior alveolar nerve lateralization. The patients will be evaluated before implant surgery and followed up for four months until the final prosthesis is placed. Changes in nutritional status, masticatory performance and speech abilities will be assessed during this process.

The Effect of Acceptance and Commitment Approach-Based Psychoeducation on Nursing Students' Psychological Distress

The study is planned to be conducted in a randomized controlled experimental design in accordance with CONSORT. The study is planned to be carried out at X Nursing Faculty between November 2022 and February 2024. The randomization list will be hidden from the students, and the group to which each student will be included will be revealed after they are included in the study. In order to determine which group the nursing students to be included in the study will be in, the "Layered Block Randomization" method will be used and they will be assigned to the experimental and control groups according to the stress scores they get from the DASS-21 scale. Assignment of intervention and control groups to conceal randomization information to avoid study bias; It will be done by an expert who was not involved in the research. The experimental group will consist of 40 students in total, 4 groups of 10 students each, and the students will receive face-to-face psychoeducation for 6 weeks, each session for 60 minutes. The control group will not receive any intervention during the application period and will be put on waitlist. After the psychoeducation, as a post-test, one month, six months and one year later, follow-up measurements will be applied face-to-face and by telephone to the students who have completed the psychoeducation, and the scores will be compared with the control group. Among the sampling criteria; Being a nursing student, getting at least 8 points (mild and above) from the stress sub-dimension of the DASS-21 scale; Exclusion criteria from the sample included starting psychiatric treatment in the last three months, having previously participated in an acceptance and commitment or mindfullness-based program. In the research, descriptive information form will be filled from the students. The level of psychological distress will be measured with the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale Short Form (DASS-21). Psychological flexibility will be measured with the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II , mindfullness with the Mindfull Attention Awareness Scale and the level of valuing with the Valuing Questionnaire . Validity and reliability studies of the scales were carried out. Institutional permission was obtained from the faculty where the research was conducted.

After surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches are applied to prevent complications. Bio-Electro-Magnetic-Energy-Regulation (BEMER) therapy uses low-frequency electromagnetic energy to regulate vasomotion in capillaries and increase microcirculation. BEMER therapy can be applied together with physiotherapy and rehabilitation. The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of BEMER application, which is added to the physiotherapy and rehabilitation program applied after videothoracoscopy surgery.

• Brief Summary: In order to benefit from the opportunity of education anytime and anywhere with distance education, individuals need to use mobile devices such as mobile phones, tablets, PCs, which provide the opportunity to access educational content independent of time and place. For these reasons, new searches for the delivery of health services are on the agenda and mobile health applications are seen as a solution to most problems faced by the health system and hospitals. Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) is a nutritional method that was first described by Gauder et al. in 1980 and is used in patients with impaired oral intake and intact gastrointestinal tract for various reasons. Caregivers play an important role in the home care process of patients undergoing PEG. Caregivers may encounter social, physical and psychological problems while applying their care. In line with all these reasons, the training to be given to the patient or his/her relative/person who will perform the PEG implantation is very important. Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of mobile application use in training given to caregivers of patients with PEG on the competence, satisfaction and care burden of caregivers.

Introduction: As after almost every surgical procedure, changes in the patient's system functions, acute pain and an increase in anxiety level occur after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Uncontrolled pain and anxiety slows down the healing process, increases the possibility of opioid use and the risk of undesirable side effects, and increases mortality, and prolongs hospital discharge. Objective: The aim of the thesis study is to evaluate the effect of machine-based and manual hand massage applied in the postoperative period on pain, anxiety and gastrointestinal system functions in patients who have undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Method: In the study planned as a randomized controlled experimental study; There will be 3 groups, 57 patients in each group, including the experimental groups and the control group, who have undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hospitalized in the General Surgery Clinic of Bartın State Hospital, where machine-based and manual hand massage will be applied. In addition to the analgesic treatment requested by the physician at the 0th, 4th and 8th hours after the surgery, the experimental groups will be given 10 minutes of hand massage to each hand, and only the requested treatment will be applied to the control group. After the applications, the changes in the pain and anxiety levels of the patients as well as the effects on the gastrointestinal system functions will be recorded. 'Data Collection Form', 'Numerical Rating Scale', 'State-Trait Anxiety Scale' and 'Gastrointestinal functions monitoring form' will be used to collect the data and the data will be analyzed in SPSS 22.0 program.
