Genital Hygiene Training Provided to Turkish Women

Purpose: In the study, it was aimed to determine the effect of genital hygiene training provided to women living in rural areas with a vulvovaginal candidiasis history on genital hygiene behaviors and self-care agency. Material and methods: This study with a randomized controlled design was conducted with the participation of women who were registered to Family Health Centers located in two villages in the rural areas in the east of Turkey and who had a history of vulvovaginal candidiasis within the last year. The study sample consisted of 114 women in total, 57 of whom were in the intervention group and 57 were in the control group. The women in the intervention group were provided with genital hygiene behaviors training. The study data were collected Identifying Information Form, Genital Hygiene Behavior Inventory (GHBI), and Self-Care Agency Scale (SCAS).

The Relationship of DASH and Mediterranean Diet Score With Serum Adiponectin Levels in Patients With Spinal Cord Injury

The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship of DASH and Mediterranean diet score with anthropometric measurements and serum adiponectin level in individuals with spinal cord injury. This research was planned as a cross-sectional, case-control study. With the data to be obtained from the research, information will be obtained about the hormonal or biochemical basis of metabolic disorders such as atherosclerosis and insulin resistance that may occur in individuals with spinal cord injury in the long term. 20 individuals with Spinal Cord Injury will be included in the study, and the results of the patients will be compared with 20 healthy individuals. In order to determine the food consumption status of the patients, a 1-day food consumption record will be requested. DASH diet score and Mediterranean diet score will be calculated from dietary records. After 8 hours of fasting, 3 ml of peripheral blood will be taken for the measurement of adiponectin between 08:00 and 09:00 in the morning from the individuals in the study and control groups. Adiponectin level will be measured and its correlation with DASH diet score and Mediterranean diet score will be examined.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a disease characterized by autoimmune systemic inflammatory polyarthritis, particularly affecting the joints of the hands. In addition to joint findings, extra-articular symptoms such as muscle pain, fatigue, fever and malaise are also common. Fatigue is characterized by a feeling of extreme tiredness and persistent exhaustion. The prevalence of fatigue is between 14% and 15% in healthy adults. Although fatigue is common in patients with RA, it may remain in the background in clinical evaluation. The etiology of fatigue in RA is related to inflammation, pain, psychosocial factors and sleep disturbance, it has not been fully explained.

Ultrasound can be used for diagnosis in patients whose treatment is difficult due to its complex structure. While the supraspinatus muscle, tendon and shoulder joint are the regions that are usually evaluated, the visualization of the Suprascapular notch is usually observed during injection. The connection between the suprascapular notch and the shoulder joint has been demonstrated in different studies.
