Plantar Sensitivity Training and Aerobic Exercise Training in Patients With Multiple Sclerosis (PlaSTAcET Study)

The aim of this thesis study is to examine whether plantar sensory training given in addition to aerobic exercise training has an additional contribution to balance, functional capacity, walking and proprioception in patients with multiple sclerosis. In this direction, the hypotheses of the study are stated below. H0 hypothesis: Plantar sensory training given in addition to aerobic exercise training in patients with multiple sclerosis has no additional contribution to balance, functional capacity, walking and proprioception. H1 hypothesis: Plantar sensory training given in addition to aerobic exercise training in patients with multiple sclerosis has an additional contribution to balance, functional capacity, walking and proprioception. Conventional exercises (with the addition of warm-up and cool-down periods) will be applied to all multiple sclerosis patients participating in the study; In addition, aerobic exercise training will be given. In addition to these exercises, plantar sensory training will be given to the sensory training group. Exercises and plantar sensory training will be given to the participants at intervals of three weeks, with progressively progressive sessions, 2 days a week for 12 weeks. Patients will be evaluated twice, before treatment and at the end of treatment 12 weeks later. Within the scope of the evaluation, balance, functional capacity, gait, proprioception and plantar sensory parameters will be measured in patients. As a result of the study, it will be examined whether plantar sensory training given in addition to aerobic exercise training in multiple sclerosis patients has an additional contribution to balance, functional capacity, walking and proprioception. There is no study in the literature examining the effects of plantar sensory training and aerobic exercise training on balance, functional capacity, walking and proprioception in patients with multiple sclerosis. In this respect, it is anticipated that the study will contribute to the literature.

Adductor Ratio in Severe Varus Gonarthrosis

The restoration of the joint line (JL) is essential for the proper functioning of Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA). The exact position of JL can be determined using anatomical landmarks such as femoral condylar width (TEW), tibial tubercle, fibular head, and adductor tubercle during preoperative planning or intraoperatively. However, in cases of severe varus deformity in Type M gonarthrosis, it is unknown which method is most suitable for accurately determining the precise JL position. The aim of this study is to identify the most appropriate method for determining the JL position in Type M gonarthrosis. To achieve this goal, two groups of patients with Type 1A and Type M gonarthrosis will be compared by measuring preoperative values and comparing them with intraoperative reference values.

Impact of Clear Aligners and Metal Brackets on Nutritional Status

This study aims to investigate the effect of clear aligners and traditional brackets on the nutritional status of orthodontic patients. With the increasing demand for more aesthetic and comfortable orthodontic appliances among adults, clear aligner treatment has gained popularity as an alternative to traditional fixed appliances. However, limited research has been conducted to evaluate the impact of clear aligners on dietary habits and nutrition. The study will include adult participants undergoing orthodontic treatment with either clear aligners or traditional brackets. The Effect of the Care Bundle to be Applied to Obesity Surgery Patients on Surgical Site Infection and Patient Comfort

One of the most effective treatment methods of obesity is surgery. Bariatric surgery is classified as a clean-contaminated wound. The expected benefit from surgery is weight loss. However, surgical site infection is among the complications. Although many methods are applied to reduce these rates, it is not very possible to reduce them to zero. It is predicted that the incidence of infection will decrease with surgical care packages created from the combination of evidence-based interventions applied. This study was a randomized controlled trial designed to determine the effect of the Surgical Site Infection (SSI) prevention package on SSI and patient comfort in patients undergoing bariatric surgery. The questions to be answered by the research are; - What is the effect of the care package applied to patients undergoing bariatric surgery on surgical site infection? - What is the effect of the care package applied to patients undergoing bariatric surgery on comfort? .Patients aged 18 and over who have had bariatric surgery (sleeve gastrectomy) will be taken from a private hospital in Kayseri. All surgeries will be performed by the same surgeon. The care package (identification of risk factors, antibiotic prophylaxis, normothermia, normoglycemia and patient education) prepared for the experimental group will be applied. On the 30th day, the patient is called by phone and the surgical site infection findings are questioned.
