Physical Activity Scale in Individuals With Spinal Cord Injury

The aim of this study was to improve the cultural adaptation and Turkish version of the The Physical Activity Scale for Individuals With Physical Disabilities (PASIPD) and to investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of PASIPD in individuals with spinal cord injury. PASIPD, which consists of 13 questions, will be adapted to Turkish by translation and back translation method. The study included 47 wheelchair-dependent patients over the age of 18 who were able to read and write Turkish (26 females, 21 males). In order to determine the reliability and internal consistency of PASIPD, item-total correlation, if item deleted cronbach alpha coefficient and cronbach alpha coefficient of the whole scale will be calculated. Test-retest method will be used for the stability of the scale. In the test-retest method, the scale will be re-applied to the same people with 7-day intervals. Pearson correlation analysis will be performed between the first test and the second test total and sub-parameters after 1 week. Test-retest reliability will be determined using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). In the validity test of PASIPD; construct validity and criterion validity will be used. Test of construct validity; factor analysis and convergent and discriminant validity methods. The Barthel Index of Activities of Daily Living and Functional Independence Measure (FIM); World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale Abbreviated Version (WHOQOL-BREF), Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) and Craig Handicap Assessment and Reporting Technique (CHART-SF) will be used to convergent and discriminant validity. Manual Wheelchair Propulsion Tests will be used to demonstrate criterion validity.

Dural Puncture Epidural Versus Combined Spinal Epidural With Epidural Volume Extension in Labor Analgesia

Labor is the process where the cervix is prepared to allow the baby to pass from the uterine cavity to the outside world. In the ordinary course, it ends with spontaneous or instrumental vaginal delivery or cesarean section. Traditionally, the first stage in which the cervix is passively dilated in response to uterine contractions consists of the second stage in which the mother passes the baby through the vagina and the third stage, the exit of the placenta. In the first stage of labor, pain is caused by uterine contractions and pressure on the cervix. Pain is transmitted through the T10-L2 spinal nerves and is felt in the abdominal wall, waist, hips, or thighs. In the second stage, pain from the vagina and perineum is added to uterine pain. This pain is transmitted by the pudendal nerves through the S2-4 nerve roots. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of dural puncture epidural analgesia versus combined spinal-epidural analgesia with epidural volume extension on labor variables.

Effect of Transversus Abdominis Plane Block on Anti-inflammatory Response

The liver transplantation is the only treatment for end-stage liver failure. Lack of sufficient organs from the cadaver to meet the organ needs has increased the interest in a live organ donor transplantation. A peripheral nerve block, transversus abdominous plane block (TAP block); When combined with general anesthesia in live liver donors, it has been shown to significantly reduce perioperative and postoperative opioid consumption, provide shorter recovery time and shorten hospital stay. It has been shown that regional block techniques using local anesthetics and analgesic adjuvants modulate both local and systemic inflammatory reactions caused by surgical injury. Cytokines are important mediators of local and systemic inflammatory response including hyperalgesia after surgery. In literature, the effect of TAP block on anti-inflammatory cytokines in live liver donors was not shown. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of bupivacaine TAP block on antiflammatory response in living liver donors.

Ibuprofen and Erector Spinae Plane Block After Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is defined as the first-step bariatric surgery for patients in the high surgical risk group. It has been shown that the laparoscopic approach has lower complication rates, shorter hospital stays, and earlier mobilization compared to open surgery. However, postoperative pain management is very important because it might cause major morbidity, especially pulmonary complications in the early postoperative period. The intravenous (IV) form of ibuprofen has been used in the pain treatment since 2009. It has been shown to be effective, safe and with less adverse effects in the treatment of postoperative pain. It has been reported that ibuprofen provides effective postoperative pain management after LSG surgery. The ultrasound (US) guided erector spina plane block (ESPB) is a novel interfacial plan block defined by Forero et al. ESPB provides thoracic analgesia at T5 level, abdominal analgesia at T7-9 level. In the literature, it has been reported that ESPB provides effective analgesia after LSG surgery. The aim of this study is to compare US-guided ESPB and IV ibuprofen for postoperative analgesia management after LSG surgery.

The results of the evaluation of breast ultrasonography results of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome diagnosis over 30 years of age will be evaluated. Patients admitted to the outpatient clinic and rotterdam criteria according to laboratory data and polycystic ovary syndrome patients diagnosed by the same radiologist the next day after the end of menstrual breast ultrasonography. The aim of this study is to show the association of polycystic ovary syndrome and fibrocystic breast.
