There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
In this study, the investigators tried to show the effect of remifentanil on emergence delirium caused by sevoflurane used in general anesthesia. We planned a retrospective study. We formed two groups of 80 participants. One group included patients who were received remifentanil infusion during general anesthesia. The other group included patients who were received only sevoflurane inhalation anesthesia. The patients included in the study were evaluated for emergence delirium in the postoperative period be evaluating the past recorded informations.
Inguinal hernia repair (IHR) is one of the most commonly performed operations in general surgery practice. Different pharmacological approaches and interfascial plane blocks are used to control postoperative pain. Erector spinae plane (ESP) block is a relatively new interfascial plane block which was reported to be effective in different types of surgeries. In this study, the primary aim is to assess the effect of ESP on recovery of patients following open IHR surgery.
The effects of two-team and single-team simultaneous bilateral total knee arthroplasty (SBA) on peri- and postoperative complications are not clear. The investigators hypothesized that two-team SBA has lower early postoperative complication rates than single-surgeon SBA. Therefore, this prospective study compared minor and major complications for 90 days postoperatively between two-surgeon and single-surgeon SBA.
Inflammatory mediators in periodontitis may lead to elevated systemic cytokine levels, resulting in increased bone resorption including the jaws. Osteoporosis may have an influence on the periodontal condition of post-menopausal women and the risk for periodontal disease may increase due to osteoporosis. The hypothesis of the study was that non-surgical periodontal treatment and medical treatment of osteoporosis by bisphosphonates may improve the clinical outcomes and decrease salivary levels of IL-1β, IL-17, ALP and 8-OHdG. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the mechanism of bi-directional relationship between osteoporosis and periodontal diseases and to investigate the outcomes of non-surgical periodontal treatment with regard to salivary levels of IL-1β, IL-17, 8‐OHdG and ALP in patients with periodontitis and osteoporosis.
This study carried out in the HD unit of a large-scale training and research hospital, and at a dialysis center associated with this hospital located in Ankara, Turkey. Participants will be randomized to one of two study arms. Arm 1: Intervention group Arm 2: Control group Hypothesis 1. The HD patients in the 8-week intervention of BRT combined with music therapy will report lower fatigue scores than those in the control group. Hypothesis 2. The HD patients in the 8-week intervention of BRT combined with music therapy will perceive lower anxiety and depression than those in the control group.
This study aimed to determine the effect of smartphone addiction on physical activity level in healthy individuals. A total of 300 (134 female) healthy university students were included in this study. The mean age of the subjects was 21.36 ± 2.33 year.
This research was planned to determine the level of nesfatin-1, known as satiety hormone, in type 2 diabetes, insulin diabetes and obesity patients and to determine whether there is a relationship between patients' energy intake levels. Additionally, it was aimed to evaluate the relationship between patients' nesfatin-1 values and serum glucose, insulin, lipid concentrations.
Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the effect of mandala activity on adolescents receiving cancer treatment on psychological symptoms and anxiety/depression level. Method: The study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study with adolescents aged 12-17 years receiving cancer treatment in Akdeniz University Hospital Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic. The sample group was composed of 30 adolescents in the experimental group and 30 adolescents in the control group using the closed envelope system in accordance with the selection criteria of the sample. The experimental group was given 2 sessions of mandala drawing and staining activity with music at least 48 hours apart. In the study, individual activity was preferred. In each session, adolescents were allowed to draw and stain a mandala. 'Data Collection Form' before the first session, 'Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale', ''Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale were applied to the experimental group before and after the first session. The same data collection tools were applied to the control group at 48 hours intervals without any activity.
The aim of this study is to determine the clinical spectrum and natural progression of Spastic Ataxias (SPAX) and related disorders in a prospective multicenter natural history study, identify digital, imaging and molecular biomarkers that can assist in diagnosis and therapy development and study the genetic etiology and molecular mechanisms of these diseases.
Arthropathy characterized by synovitis, cartilage degeneration, subchondral and interosseous cysts occur due to hemorrhage in hemophilia. This situation causes to chronic pain, decreasing in range of motion, muscle strength, proprioception. Disorders in these parameters are the main causes of gait dysfunction. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of therapeutic exercises on target joint functions and gait kinematics, and to determine possible complications related to exercise in hemophilic patients.
