There are about 3709 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Thailand. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The goal of this prospective observational study is to test combination of STOP-Bang score and factors predicting difficult intubation can improve accuracy of prediction difficult mask ventilation in obese patients that undergoing to elective surgery under general anesthesia. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Can combination of STOP-Bang score and factors predicting difficult intubation improve accuracy of prediction difficult mask ventilation in obese patients? - Study about complication after endotracheal tube insertion in obese patients that undergoing to elective surgery under general anesthesia. Participants who undergoing to elective surgery under general anesthesia will - Routine preoperative evaluation and ask about STOP bang questions, evaluate neck circumference, Mallampati grade,Thyromental distance (That routine physical examination for anesthetic care pre-operation) - In operation room, patients will be inducted anesthesia by anesthesiologist (step routine for general anesthesia),observe difficult mask ventilation grading before intubate endotracheal tube and complication after endotracheal tube insertion. If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare obese patients with/without high STOP bang score >=3 point plus factor predicting difficult intubation (Mallampati grade 3-4, Neck circumference > 42 cm, Thyromental distance < 6 cm)to prediction difficult mask ventilation
Serum vitamin D levels in drug-induced non-immediate reactions
The goal of this study is to assess and compare the safety and tolerability of salbutamol administered via metered dose inhaler (MDI) containing propellant 1,1-difluoroethane (HFA-152a) or 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFA-134a) in participants aged 12 years and above with asthma.
This study is a parallel randomized controlled trial (RCT). To determine the effect of intermittent fasting, intermittent fasting with behavioral economics, and intensive lifestyle modification on nutritional status; the differences between HOMA-IR, body weight change, and body composition in obese people. Each participant will be randomized to receive the intervention (intermittent fasting, intermittent fasting with behavioral economics, or intensive lifestyle modification. The study protocol will be explained to the eligible participant and informed written consent will be obtained. The total sample size will be 123 participants. Blood and urine samples will be collected at baseline and each follow-up visit including 1-month, 2-months, 6-month, and 12-months, respectively for further study to find out the mechanisms of weight loss, weight regain, and the improvement in the metabolic disease.
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis (MIPO) approach with conventional methods in volar locking plate treatment for distal end radius fractures under the Wide Awake Local Anesthesia No Tourniquet (WALANT) technique. The main question it aims to answer is: Does the MIPO approach provide better pain control than the conventional approach of volar locking plate fixation in distal radius fractures under WALANT? Participants will be requested to record their pain on the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), assess their functional scores, and undergo postoperative radiographic evaluations. Researchers will compare the MIPO group and the conventional group to determine the postoperative pain VAS scores, shedding light on the comparative effectiveness of the two approaches.
The goal of this study is to study the correlation of maternal and cord blood level of Anti SAR-CoV.
Chikungunya viral infection (CVI) is a mosquito-borne infection, caused by chikungunya virus (CHIKV), an alphavirus, belonging to the family Togaviridae. This infection causes febrile illness associated with high fever, rash, acute deliberating and persistent arthralgia. There is no licensed vaccine or specific treatment for this infection. Ivermectin (IVM), commonly-used antiparasitic, has been demonstrated to inhibit replication of CHIKV.
Mechanical alignment (MA) in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is the most commonly used with well-documented long-term results, however 20% of patients express dissatisfaction following primary TKA. Alternative alignment philosophies have been proposed, aiming to improve patient clinical outcomes and satisfaction. However, evaluation is focused mainly on knee alignment, the pathological findings and other adaptational changes in the ankles and hips are usually neglected. Thia study aim to comparative effect between mechanical and functional alignment in patient undergone bilateral robotic TKA on ankle alignment and functional outcomes.
Sperm cryopreservation is an essential procedure for male fertility in certain situations, like cancer, vasectomy or other obstructive surgeries, autoimmunity diseases, immunosuppressive therapeutic strategies, or when the male partner is incapable of providing sufficient spermatozoa on the day of egg retrieval. Semen cryopreservation is mainly associated with decreased viability, motility, and DNA damage of spermatozoa due to the osmotic and mechanical stresses attributed to the freezing-thaw- ing process. Sperm cryodamage mainly originates from osmotic changes, cold shock, intracellular ice crystal formation, and oxidative stress. Based on this, some protective strategies have been proposed and developed, even the addition of cryoprotectants. Recently, Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is becoming very popular in medicine. The therapeutic effect of platelets is related to alpha granule contents. A study showed that PRP modulates ROS toxicity through a different mechanism. VEGF detoxify oxidative damage via activation of the nuclear factor (erythroid- derived 2)-like2 (Nrf2) pathway. Oxidative stress modulation and apoptosis inhibition both have an essential role during the cryopreservation process. In this case, it raises the question of whether PRP can improve the sperm quality against freeze-thawing-induced damage. Therefore, the present study aimed to examine different concentrations of PRP on frozen-thawed sperm parameters of vitality, morphology, motility and DNA fragmentation
