There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is being done to evaluate the safety and efficacy of atrasentan in men with non-metastatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer.
This study is being done to evaluate the safety and efficacy of atrasentan in men with metastatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of FK463 in the treatment of patients with confirmed candidemia or invasive candidiasis.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of FK463 in patients with proven or probable invasive infections due to Aspergillus species.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether LJP 394 (abetimus sodium) is safe and effective in delaying and reducing renal flares in patients with lupus nephritis.
Definition: This study will compare the drug GEMZAR to a combination of GEMZAR plus ALIMTA for the treatment of cancer of the pancreas. Patients may be able to participate in this study if they have cancer in their pancreas that cannot be removed by surgery OR that has spread to a new site in their body.
The purposes of this study are to determine: 1. If treatment with LY900003 plus gemcitabine and cisplatin can help you live longer, compared with gemcitabine and cisplatin alone. 2. The safety of LY900003 plus gemcitabine and cisplatin and any side effects that might be associated with the combination of these three drugs. 3. Whether LY900003 plus gemcitabine and cisplatin can make your tumor smaller or disappear, and for how long, compared with gemcitabine and cisplatin alone. It is possible that information collected during this study will be analyzed by the sponsor in the future to evaluate LY900003 plus gemcitabine and cisplatin for other possible uses or for other medical or scientific purposes other than those currently proposed. LY900003 may not add any benefit to gemcitabine plus cisplatin.
Determine whether patients receiving adjuvant HSPPC-96 treatment after surgically resected, locally advanced renal cell carcinoma have improved recurrence-free survival as compared to subjects with no adjuvant treatment.
This study involves patients 12 years and older who have been diagnosed with herpes simplex encephalitis (HSE) by a specific laboratory test and have completed treatment or are being treated with intravenous (given through a needle inserted into a vein) acyclovir. The purpose of the study is to determine if treatment with 4 tablets, 500 milligrams each, of valacyclovir given 3 times daily by mouth for 90 days is both effective and safe after completing intravenous acyclovir treatment and if it can increase survival with or without mild impairment of the brain and mental functions. Participants will be assigned to either drug or placebo (inactive substance) randomly (by chance). Study procedures will include blood samples and lumbar punctures (procedure in which a needle is inserted into the lower back to collect cerebral spinal fluid). Subjects will participate for up to 24 months.
RATIONALE: Colony-stimulating factors such as filgrastim may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplant may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Combining isotretinoin and monoclonal antibodies may kill any remaining tumor cells following surgery. It is not yet known which treatment regimen is more effective in treating neuroblastoma. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy with or without filgrastim before surgery, high-dose chemotherapy, and radiation therapy followed by isotretinoin with or without monoclonal antibody work in treating patients with neuroblastoma.
