There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Current diagnostic tools such as interferon gamma release assay (IGRA) and purified protein derivative (PPD) can not distinguish patients with latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) and persistence of live mycobacteria. This inability to rule out living mycobacteria in patients investigated for LTBI leads to unnecessary and potentially harmful treatment regimes all around the globe. The goal of this observational study is to identify candidate biomarkers for viable bacilli in latent tuberculosis in order to decrease the use of unnecessary and ineffective antibiotic treatment.
Investigating the connection between delivered oxygen index and cerebral impact with COx (cerebral oximetry index) och cerebral injury markers during the routine use of cardiopulmonary bypass.
The goal of this phase II clinical trial is to improve the selection of patients with solid tumors who would benefit from effective treatment with HER2 targeted drugs. This will be achieved by examining patients with HER2 positive tumors in the esophagus or stomach or patients with advanced breast cancer with low HER2 expression (HER2low) with the HER2 specific positron emission tomography (PET) tracer ABY-025 (HER2-PET) and compare the imaging results with HER2 expression in tumor tissue derived from biopsies (reference standard).
The goal of this pilot randomized pilot controlled trial (RTC)is to collect acceptability and feasibility outcomes of a physiotherapy individualized program in women with levator injury that is intended to be used in a larger scale multicenter randomized controlled trial (RTC) in the future. The main questions it aims to answer are if a physiotherapy program in women with a levator injury: 1. Can improve the pelvic floor morphometry (PFM). 2. Can improve urogynecological symptoms 3. The effect of a physiotherapy program in the sexual function 4. The effect of a physiotherapy program in the patient's fear avoidance beliefs about physical activity and work Type of study: randomized pilot controlled trial (RTC) The design of this trial will be a pilot randomized controlled trial with 3 arms. Participants will be randomized in 2 arm of women with levator ani injury to either physiotherapy or standard care and an arm of woman without levator injury Researchers will compare the 3 groups to see if a physiotherapy program have benefits in morphometry of the pelvic floor, urogynecological symptoms, sexual function and to avoid fear avoidance beliefs about physical activity and work.
The good effects of using guided plasticity for a rehabilitative purpose in case of nerve damage have been shown, but a problem that has been presented is that some individuals find it difficult to assimilate these effects due to difficulties in carrying out abstract training or due to a lack of motivation. In early sensory training, the plasticity of the brain is used. Methods for early sensory training that have been described are: 1) mental imagery of touch (mental imagery), 2) observation of touch, 3) mirror training, 4) use of images for visualization of touch. The method needs to be developed and refined to be able to offer individual training plans in order to find a motivating and meaningful form of training.
In a transvaginal tru-cut biopsy, guided by ultrasound, a needle is inserted through the vaginal wall into a pelvic lesion and a few pieces of tissue are obtained for examination. This clinical trial is organized to evaluate the safety and efficacy of transvaginal tru-cut biopsy in a large group of patients with tumors in the small pelvis.
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare a novel, condensed version of cognitive behavioral therapy (Bergen 4-Day Treatment, B4DT) to the gold standard psychological treatment (gold-standard CBT) for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). The main question it aims to answer is: • Is B4DT non-inferior to standard cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with regard to OCD symptoms 14 weeks after treatment start? Adult patients with obsessive compulsive disorder will be randomly assigned to receive either gold standard CBT one to two times per week for 14 weeks, or 4 days of B4DT during one week.
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel, exploratory phase 2a study to evaluate safety and biologic efficacy on wound healing of ILP100-Topical in subjects with diabetic foot ulcers during 26 weeks with a 5-year long-term follow-up period. A total of 30 subjects will be randomized to low dose of ILP100-Topical (ILP100Lo), high dose of ILP100-Topical (ILP100Hi) or Placebo according to a 1:1:1 randomization schedule. The study will consist of a 3-weeks Screening and Run-in Phase, followed by a 5-week Treatment Phase starting from Baseline and an Assessment Phase from Week 5 to Week 26. Thereafter, the subjects will be followed yearly during 5 years in a Long-Term Safety Follow-up Phase.
The primary aim of this research is to determine whether supplementation with probiotics during the first weeks of life reduces the risk of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and neonatal mortality and is safe to use among extremely preterm (EPT) infants born before gestational week 28. P: The study population include EPT infants (n= 1620) born at six tertiary neonatal units in Sweden and four units in Denmark. I: This is a double-blinded multicenter randomized controlled trial where infants in the intervention group will as soon as they tolerate 3 mL breastmilk per feed receive a probiotic combination of Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium lactis, and Streptococcus thermophilus diluted in 3 mL breastmilk and given once daily until gestational week 34. C: The control group will receive 3 mL breastmilk without probiotic supplementation (blinded) daily. O: Primary outcome variables is a composite endpoint of incidence of NEC and mortality. Secondary outcomes include incidence of sepsis, duration of hospital stay, use of antibiotics, feeding tolerance, growth, and body composition after hospital discharge. Patient benefit: To provide evidence on the usage of probiotics among EPT infants that are not currently covered by clinical recommendations. As EPT infants have the highest risk for NEC and mortality our results have the potential to change current recommendations and improve patient outcomes, decrease mortality, shorten hospitalization, and decrease overall health-care costs.
